“What do you want to say? Hurry up! We need to get back to the dorm!”

Zheng Yanyan’s tone was sharp, laced with irritation. After her recent humiliation, being blocked at the cafeteria door by Chang Hao was the last thing she wanted. Did he see everything that had just happened? No one liked being caught in their most vulnerable monts, especially not by soone like Chang Hao—a persistent simp who seed to always hover around her.

What could he possibly want now? To say, Yanyan, I saw what happened earlier?

That would just earn him a verbal beating.

Chang Hao hesitated after hearing Zheng Yanyan refer to Lu Lin and the others as her “best sisters.” He glanced at Lu Lin, then finally muttered, “Forget it, it’s nothing.”

Zheng Yanyan rolled her eyes. What a waste of ti.

The scuffle in the cafeteria had wrapped up, and on the other side of campus, Zhou Yuwen and Su Qing were finishing their movie.

The two had chosen to watch Iron Man 3. Zhou Yuwen didn’t particularly enjoy Marvel movies—he could watch them, but he wasn’t deeply invested in the franchise. He found the plots unremarkable and the characters overly free-spirited. For example, Iron Man’s casual fling with a biologist early in the movie made it hard to take the story seriously.

Su Qing, anwhile, had nestled herself against Zhou Yuwen’s chest as the movie played. It wasn’t fresh or exciting—after all, they were like an old married couple. But there was a certain comfort in their familiarity.

Occasionally, Su Qing would interrupt the movie with her playful questions. At one point, she pointed at the screen and said, “That robot is so cute!”

Zhou Yuwen rolled his eyes. “You said the sa thing last ti we watched this movie.”

“Did I?” Su Qing blinked innocently, grinning.

It wasn’t that Su Qing was dumb; she simply enjoyed teasing Zhou Yuwen. She often asked silly questions, not out of genuine curiosity but to spark conversation.

Zhou Yuwen gave her a look, but she just giggled, her lips curling into a pout. “I don’t even rember what happens in this movie.”

“Then pay attention and watch it,” Zhou Yuwen replied.

“Hmm, you didn’t say that the first ti we watched this together,” Su Qing said softly, gazing at him.

“Oh? What did I say back then?”

“You kept staring at

instead of the screen. And when I asked why, you said I was more beautiful than the movie,” Su Qing teased, her voice dripping with mock sentintality.

Before she could continue, Zhou Yuwen covered her mouth, embarrassed.

Damn it, why did I have to be so cheesy back then?

“Your mory’s amazing for this kind of stuff,” Zhou Yuwen muttered.

“Of course! It was my first ti falling in love. How could I forget?” Su Qing replied with a playful pout.

The two reminisced about their first movie date. Zhou Yuwen had been an awkward and inexperienced teenager, brimming with excitent yet terrified of crossing any boundaries.

Back then, he had wanted to put his arm around Su Qing’s waist but hesitated for fear of offending her. Su Qing, on the other hand, had been hyper-aware of Zhou Yuwen’s every move, thinking, Just do it already! You’re killing !

Finally, Su Qing couldn’t take it anymore and leaned back, giving Zhou Yuwen the perfect opportunity to act. He froze, stiff as a board, until Su Qing innocently asked, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing,” Zhou Yuwen stamred.

That small, clumsy gesture marked their first mont of intimacy, and it had felt incredibly sweet at the ti.

Now, years later, they looked back and laughed. Though their relationship had gone through its ups and downs—argunts, divorce, and all the complications that followed—it was undeniable that they had loved each other deeply. Their eight years together, spanning college, marriage, and post-divorce entanglents, had defined their youth.

“I don’t regret marrying you,” Zhou Yuwen said suddenly.

Su Qing’s expression softened, and she replied, “I’m sorry.”

“You have nothing to apologize for. We both made mistakes,” Zhou Yuwen said.

Su Qing’s eyes glistened with emotion. She leaned closer, her lips brushing against his. Zhou Yuwen didn’t pull away.

The kiss wasn’t about passion or conquest. It was a tender, mutual mont of connection, a reminder of their shared history.

For once, Su Qing took the lead, sliding onto Zhou Yuwen’s lap. She tilted his chin upward, their foreheads touching briefly before their lips t again.

Afterward, Su Qing’s eyes sparkled with tears, though her smile remained bright.

“We haven’t been like this in so long,” she said softly.

“Hmm,” Zhou Yuwen murmured in agreent.

Their conversation turned introspective as they reflected on their past and the choices that had led them to this point. Su Qing clung to Zhou Yuwen, her voice trembling as she said, “I still want to be your wife.”

“You’ll always be my wife in so ways,” Zhou Yuwen replied.

“But I want to be your only one,” Su Qing whispered.

Zhou Yuwen sighed. “We can’t go back, Su Qing. What we had is in the past. I have soone else now—Yanyan.”

Su Qing frowned. “You were never with her in our last life.”

“That was then, and this is now,” Zhou Yuwen said firmly.

“But—”

“No buts. Let’s leave it at this. The caras are watching,” Zhou Yuwen said, gently helping her off his lap.

Su Qing pouted but relented, though her mischievous streak soon returned. “By the way, aren’t you curious why Yanyan and Tao Tian were both busy tonight?”

Zhou Yuwen raised an eyebrow, sensing trouble. “What did you do?”

Su Qing’s smile widened as she stretched lazily, her voice dripping with amusent. “Oh, nothing. Just... a little coincidence, that’s all.”
