For a woman, driving a BMW X7 is like handling a large beast. Tao Tian, wearing high heels, had to take off her shoes to drive. It was her first ti driving such a high-end car, and she couldn’t help but feel nervous.
Zhou Yuwen, however, didn’t care. Reclining in the passenger seat with his eyes closed, he waited to get ho.
Tao Tian confessed, “I’ve barely driven since I got my license. If I scratch or crash this car, I wouldn’t be able to pay for it.”
Zhou Yuwen teased, “If you do, you can just pay
with yourself.”
Tao Tian couldn’t help but smile. “That’s a bad deal for .”
The drive continued smoothly. As they approached Lanyuan, Tao Tian remarked, “This is one of Jinling’s most famous upscale neighborhoods. I’ve always wanted to see it. Thanks to you, I finally got the chance.”
Zhou Yuwen remained silent, his eyes still closed.
When Tao Tian parked the car, Zhou Yuwen suggested, “It’s late. You can drive the car back to campus. The security guards recognize my car and won’t stop you.”
Tao Tian rested her hands on the steering wheel, clearly pleased with her accomplishnt of successfully parking the car. Leaning over the steering wheel, she looked at Zhou Yuwen with a playful smile.
“I went through all this trouble to drop you off, and this is how you treat ?” Tao Tian asked teasingly. “So my ‘girlfriend ti’ is officially over now?”
Her tone carried a hint of mischief as she tilted her head, observing Zhou Yuwen.
From the mont they entered the neighborhood, Tao Tian had subtly hinted at wanting to visit Zhou Yuwen’s ho. He initially intended to deflect the conversation, but now he had no choice but to be honest.
“Yanyan is upstairs,” Zhou Yuwen said bluntly.
The cheerful expression on Tao Tian’s face froze instantly, replaced by a look of disappointnt. “Oh, so my ‘girlfriend ti’ really is over,” she murmured.
Feeling a pang of guilt, Zhou Yuwen explained, “She’s not usually around. I haven’t spent much ti with her lately, so I promised I’d co by tonight. Let’s plan another day, and I’ll bring you over to my place.”
Tao Tian’s expression didn’t change much. Instead, she asked softly, “And when that day cos, what role will I have?”
Zhou Yuwen sighed. “What role do you want?”
“That depends on what role you’ll allow
to have,” Tao Tian replied, her voice tinged with sadness.
The car fell into silence. Neither spoke, and the atmosphere grew heavy.
After a while, Tao Tian’s eyes began to redden, and she started to sniffle.
Zhou Yuwen, startled, reached over to pat her back. “What’s wrong?”
Tao Tian wiped her tears, her voice trembling as she said, “I just feel like… I’m not myself anymore.”
In the dimly lit car, her reddened eyes glistened with tears, and her delicate face carried an expression of vulnerability. Zhou Yuwen handed her a tissue, gently wiping away her tears. But the more he wiped, the more tears fell.
Tao Tian’s voice quivered as she continued, “This is the last ti. The last ti I’ll cry for you. After today, I won’t cry for you anymore.”
Zhou Yuwen’s heart softened. Stroking her back, he whispered, “It’s my fault. I’m not a good man. Tao Tian, you’re a good woman. You deserve better.”
“But why must I choose you?” Tao Tian replied, her tone filled with grievance. “I don’t even know when it started. Maybe it was that night on the field when I first saw you playing guitar. Or maybe it was when you walked into the Arts Departnt holding Zheng Yanyan’s hand. You were just… different.”
Her tears slowly subsided as she spoke, a faint smile tugging at her lips as she recounted her mories. “All the girls in our dorm liked you back then. We used to talk about how handso and talented you were.”
Zhou Yuwen listened silently, smiling as she reminisced. “And you? Did you see
as a big brother too?”
Tao Tian hesitated before replying, “I think I started liking you the day you gave
that band-aid.”
Zhou Yuwen was puzzled. “Band-aid?”
“It was our first part-ti job. You told
that wearing high heels would give
blisters and handed
a band-aid,” Tao Tian explained, a hint of shyness in her voice. “I still have it.”
Zhou Yuwen chuckled. “You kept that?”
“Yeah,” she admitted, nodding.
As Tao Tian spoke, her gaze softened. “You’re always so composed, as if you’re older than . Sotis, I even feel like you’re my father.”
“Don’t exaggerate,” Zhou Yuwen joked. “I’m only two years younger than your dad.”
“See? You take everything so seriously!”
The two exchanged a warm smile, their eyes locking in silence.
Breaking the stillness, Tao Tian whispered, “I must be crazy. I know you have a girlfriend, but…”
Before she could finish, Zhou Yuwen leaned in and kissed her.
Words beca unnecessary.
Their lips t tentatively at first, but the kiss quickly deepened into sothing more passionate. Tao Tian tilted her head slightly, closing her eyes as Zhou Yuwen cupped her face, guiding the mont.
Gradually, she moved to sit on Zhou Yuwen’s lap, wrapping her arms around his neck as their kiss intensified. His hand slipped under her neckline, and her soft moans filled the car.
Zhou Yuwen couldn’t help but feel a sense of triumph. Tao Tian, with her elegance and charm, was unlike any of the other won he had encountered.
Just as they were about to take things further, Zhou Yuwen’s phone rang, snapping them out of their heated mont.
It was Zheng Yanyan.
Annoyed but knowing he couldn’t ignore it, Zhou Yuwen answered.
“Hubby, why are you still in the garage? You’ve been there for almost an hour,” Zheng Yanyan pouted over the phone.
Caught off guard, Zhou Yuwen quickly replied, “Oh, I was just chatting with Tao Tian.”
Hearing this, Tao Tian tugged at her dress to fix it and let out a small laugh.
“Wait, that big-chested one drove you back?” Zheng Yanyan blurted out.
Zhou Yuwen glanced at Tao Tian, feeling awkward. Tao Tian, however, simply chuckled. Taking the phone from Zhou Yuwen, she responded, “It’s true! You’re not wrong, Yanyan.”
On the other end, Zheng Yanyan hastily said, “Oh no, I didn’t an it like that! I was just joking!”
Hanging up, Tao Tian returned the phone to Zhou Yuwen, smiling mischievously.
Though their mood had been interrupted, Tao Tian didn’t seem upset. Instead, she playfully punched Zhou Yuwen’s arm. “What do you an ‘next ti’?!”
Zhou Yuwen smirked. “Isn’t it obvious? Next ti is next ti.”
When Zheng Yanyan arrived in the garage, Tao Tian had already composed herself. The two won exchanged polite goodbyes, but the subtle tension in the air was palpable.
As Tao Tian drove away in Zhou Yuwen’s car, Zheng Yanyan’s smile vanished. “Why was she here?”
“She drove
back because I drank too much,” Zhou Yuwen explained calmly.
“And you let her drive your car back to campus?”
“What’s the big deal?” Zhou Yuwen shrugged.
Zheng Yanyan pouted but said nothing further, instead walking ahead with a huff. Zhou Yuwen followed her into the elevator, shaking his head at her antics.
Once ho, Zheng Yanyan ordered Zhou Yuwen to shower. “You reek of alcohol!”
After freshening up, Zhou Yuwen walked into the bedroom, only to find Zheng Yanyan applying lipstick.
“Are you going out this late?” he asked, confused.
“Where would I even go at this hour?” she replied, rolling her eyes.
