Zhou Yuwen didn’t really want to be in the spotlight, especially since Su Qing, who was staring at Zheng Yanyan with a resentful look, was still on stage. Zhou Yuwen felt that Zheng Yanyan truly feared nothing. Even though she knew Su Qing still had feelings for him, she dared to pull this stunt.

Even from afar, Zhou Yuwen could sense Su Qing's pained expression.

Yet Zheng Yanyan pretended not to notice, waving enthusiastically. She was the type who loved attention, and winning a prize—although a bicycle wasn’t expensive—was sothing worth celebrating.

She tugged at Zhou Yuwen to go on stage with her, but Zhou Yuwen argued, "Why don’t you just go by yourself?"

“Co on, just accompany !” Zheng Yanyan said playfully, pouting.

Zhou Yuwen sighed, thinking he might as well go up, get the bicycle, and be done with it.

So, with all eyes on them, Zheng Yanyan pulled Zhou Yuwen onto the stage.

People were surprised that Zhou Yuwen had won the bicycle. You Changjin remarked, “That guy’s really lucky.”

anwhile, Liu Yue muttered to her roommates, “Ugh, so frustrating! I clicked so fast.”

“Do you think there’s so inside story here?”

Everyone was busy chatting. By now, Zheng Yanyan had already pulled Zhou Yuwen up. Jiang Xinyi found the students in You Changjin’s class amusing.

Zheng Yanyan was bold, pretty, and a great dancer, but she seed deeply attached to Zhou Yuwen.

Despite eting Chang Hao first, she ended up dating Zhou Yuwen.

Jiang Xinyi turned to You Changjin and said, “That girl really likes your student. I wonder what makes him special.”

You Changjin replied, “Young people just like good-looking ones. Honestly, I think our class's Chang Hao is pretty good too.”

Dressed in a JK-style skirt, Zheng Yanyan’s long legs stood out as she stepped onto the stage. Without the need to dance, her playful and carefree nature was even more apparent.

The male host, warming up the crowd, said, “Let's welco our campus goddess, Zheng Yanyan!”

Usually, both hosts should interact, but Su Qing’s expression was off; she stood by coldly without speaking.

The male host handed Zheng Yanyan a microphone, stating, “According to the rules, we need to confirm the phone number first.”

Zheng Yanyan turned to Zhou Yuwen, asking for his number.

The host questioned, “So, it wasn’t you who won?”

Zheng Yanyan shook her head.

Since she hadn’t spoken directly into the mic, the audience couldn’t hear. The host prompted her, indicating she needed to speak into the mic.

Realizing her mistake, Zheng Yanyan said aloud, “My boyfriend won.”

“Boyfriend? You have a boyfriend?” Although the male host had seen Zhou Yuwen with her backstage, he acted surprised for the audience's sake.

Murmurs spread through the crowd.

From the mont Zheng Yanyan brought Zhou Yuwen up, people whispered, “Is that her boyfriend?”

So confird, “Oh, she has a boyfriend.”

Now that she openly admitted it, surprise swept through the crowd.

Li Qiang handed Chang Hao a tissue, joking, “Brother Hao, if you want to cry, just cry.”

“Get lost!” Chang Hao retorted, then firmly told Li Qiang, “I don’t like Zheng Yanyan anymore, so don’t bring it up again!”

“Hehe.”

The two sat near You Changjin, speaking freely. Hearing this, You Changjin chuckled.

The male host, continuing, said, “Wow, that's a sha. Do you know how many boys are heartbroken by your words?”

He teased further, “Yanyan, such a beautiful girl, why do you already have a boyfriend in your first month of college? Are you childhood sweethearts?”

Zheng Yanyan shook her head. “We t at college.”

“Whoa~”

The host joined the audience in exaggerated surprise. “It’s only been a month since the sester started, and you’re already dating? Can you share how you two t? Everyone, do you want to hear it?”

“Yes~”

Cheers erupted from the crowd.

The host aid for entertainnt value, and Zheng Yanyan basked in the spotlight, playing her part. Zhou Yuwen, anwhile, resigned himself to being a bystander. Fortunately, he’d coordinated with Su Qing beforehand, or she’d likely be fuming now.

Zhou Yuwen glanced at Su Qing, noticing she wasn’t even looking his way but was staring coldly at Zheng Yanyan.

She puffed her cheeks when she felt Zhou Yuwen’s gaze.

If not for their agreent, Su Qing would’ve stord onstage and slapped that “little b*tch.”

But now, Su Qing, unwilling to engage, decided to step offstage for a drink instead. She couldn’t stand watching Zheng Yanyan and Zhou Yuwen flaunt their relationship.

Onstage, Zheng Yanyan began sharing their story with a smile.

“He’s my hotown friend's roommate,” she said after a pause.

Hearing this, Li Qiang scoffed, “Brother Hao, did you catch that? Hotown friend’s roommate—old friends et, eyes full of tears.”

Chang Hao glared at him.

During military training, Chang Hao had boasted to many that Zheng Yanyan was his girlfriend. Now, her words corrected that misconception, harshly.

He thought that even if they couldn’t be lovers, they could at least be friends.

But to her, he was just an acquaintance.

The host, a senior, laughed knowingly at her words. “Oh? Is this friend a guy?”

“Yes, he’s also from Beijing. It’s just the two of us at this school,” explained Zheng Yanyan, confidently standing tall, her fair skin and long legs in view.

“Oh, so he doesn’t like you?” the host teased.

Zheng Yanyan quickly shook her head. “No, we’re just friends from the sa place. Don’t say such things or my boyfriend will get mad.”

Her playful addition drew more laughter.

Li Qiang below couldn’t hold it in, doubled over with laughter, clutching his stomach.

He didn’t even bother speaking to Chang Hao, just laughed uncontrollably, patting Chang Hao on the shoulder.

You Changjin, noticing, asked, “What’s up with Li Qiang?”

Chang Hao, looking pale, replied, “Who knows? He’s just acting up.”

The host continued bantering with Zheng Yanyan. “A Beijing native? That’s not even the sa as being from the countryside!”

“No, no, we’re all the sa.”

“Is your hotown friend here?” the host pushed.

“He is, he is!” Li Qiang shouted suddenly.

Luckily, the auditorium was noisy, and Chang Hao quickly silenced him.

Despite that, those nearby glanced over. The class knew who Zheng Yanyan’s “hotown friend” was.

The host's question was just to provoke a response, possibly even to interview Chang Hao and ask if he liked Zheng Yanyan.

The question stumped Zheng Yanyan, who instinctively looked for Chang Hao. Zhou Yuwen sensed where this was heading and interjected, “Hey, weren’t we here to get our prize? Where is it?”

“Don’t be so hasty, brother! This is a big prize; you can’t just walk off with it,” the host joked, wrapping an arm around Zhou Yuwen’s shoulders.

Zhou Yuwen didn’t like such antics. Even if it was just for fun, he found it irritating.

By now, two students had wheeled the bicycle on stage. Su Qing stepped up again.

The male host followed protocol, asking for Zhou Yuwen’s phone number.

“Yeah, it matches! Man, you’re lucky—pretty girlfriend, plus a prize,” he said.

The laughter from the crowd was lukewarm, but the host kept pushing for energy.

Behind the scenes, Shen Yu, handling stage control, indicated through a walkie-talkie to keep timing tight. “Wrap this up in five minutes.”

“Rotate them out.”

Within those five minutes, the host couldn’t resist asking Zhou Yuwen, “How’d you manage to win over our new campus beauty?”

Zhou Yuwen replied, “I didn’t pursue her.”

“She ca after .”

His words elicited gasps from the audience. The host turned to Zheng Yanyan in surprise, “Really?”

Zheng Yanyan blushed but nodded shyly.

“Wow, goddess! Can you tell us how you pursued your boyfriend?”

Holding the mic, face red, Zheng Yanyan recounted their shared monts, like how Zhou Yuwen would buy her burgers during military training and take the bla for her.

Each mory was polished and romanticized by Zheng Yanyan.

The host nodded in understanding. “I see. No wonder—I’d choose him over your hotown friend, too.”

More laughter erupted below, with Li Qiang’s booming laugh cutting through it all.

Zheng Yanyan, embarrassed, couldn’t help laughing herself.

Su Qing, however, was fuming. She stared daggers at Zheng Yanyan and, had they not been in public, would’ve pushed her right off stage.

Zhou Yuwen asked, “Can we get the bicycle now?”

“Wait, man. It’s a huge prize, and if you don’t perform a talent, the crowd won’t be satisfied, right, everyone?” the host asked.

“Yes~”

Zhou Yuwen thought, *I won

this fair and square—no talent show needed.*

Even Chang Hao wanted to punch the host at this point.

“No,” Zhou Yuwen said.

“No talent?” The host feigned shock.

“Alright,” the host said, “but if you won’t perform, how about a kiss with your girlfriend?”

“Yes!”

The crowd, already entertained, cheered loudly.

However, the host was unaware that three people already resented him—one of whom radiated a cold fury behind him.

Huh?

But behind him stood only Su Qing.

Thinking he’d done well, the sophomore host smiled at Su Qing as if to say, *See how well I’m hosting?*

To which Su Qing thought, *This guy is so la!*

The chant for a kiss grew louder.

Zheng Yanyan giggled, covering her mouth, waiting for Zhou Yuwen to kiss her.

At 18, she had already given her heart to Zhou Yuwen and wanted everyone to know he was hers.

A public kiss? Perfect for mories—sothing to show in their wedding video one day.

The cheering continued.

“Co on, Brother Hao, cheer with ! Kiss!” Li Qiang shouted.

Even You Changjin gave him a sidelong glance.

Caught up in the mont, Zhou Yuwen sighed, thinking, *This girl sure knows how to play the ga.*

Alright, let’s do it.

Just as Zhou Yuwen reached out to pull Zheng Yanyan for a kiss—

A hand grabbed him from behind. Su Qing, with perfect timing, inserted herself between them, physically nudging Zheng Yanyan aside.

Su Qing’s sudden move silenced the audience.

Zheng Yanyan’s face darkened, realizing Su Qing might cause trouble.

Indeed, Su Qing, mic in hand, faced Zhou Yuwen. With her polished makeup and composed smile, she said, “I rember your guitar playing was always beautiful in high school. Didn’t you write

a song? Do you still rember it?”

“Oh~” The crowd gasped collectively.

Zheng Yanyan’s expression turned green.

Behind the scenes, Shen Yu muttered urgently, “Hey! Get them off the stage! Quickly, get them down!”
