Zhou Yuwen watched Lu Lin's back as she walked away.

She was wearing an adorable JK skirt, but on Lu Lin, it looked strikingly cool and edgy.

Zheng Yanyan only muttered a bit as Lu Lin left, then went off to find soone else to help her take pictures.

Holding a bouquet, she leaned against Zhou Yuwen’s chest and flashed a peace sign, her face full of happiness.

The person taking their photo sighed with admiration, “I’m so jealous; your boyfriend treats you so well.”

“Hehe, you’ll find one too,” Zheng Yanyan said, taking the phone to check the photos.

Just then, soone called her over, ntioning that there were still so things about the performance she needed to focus on.

“Oh, I’ll be right there,” Zheng Yanyan replied. She wanted to linger a bit longer with Zhou Yuwen, but she told him to rember to clap for her and then left for her performance.

After she left, Zhou Yuwen glanced in the direction where Lu Lin had gone.

The auditorium was designed with three floors. The central area on the first floor was the main hall, while the sides had been modified into a three-story office building, with backstage areas for perforrs and offices for the student council.

Feeling frustrated, Lu Lin had wandered up to the hallway on the third floor, looking out the window and lighting a cigarette despite her attempts to quit. She hadn’t smoked at all during the days she spent with Zhou Yuwen, but now that he had a new love, what was the point of trying?

The freshman welco party was starting at 7:30, just under an hour away. While everyone else was busy preparing, it was unusually quiet here, though it was where the student council typically worked.

Only two dim lights illuminated the hallway, making it feel especially desolate compared to the hustle and bustle below.

Outside, through the window facing the auditorium's back door, the pathway was dimly lit by a lonely streetlamp, and the branches of tall sycamores stretched into the window.

Lu Lin leaned against the window, quietly smoking. She wasn’t entirely sure why she felt so unsettled. Zhou Yuwen being affectionate with his new girlfriend was natural for a relationship, but it bothered her knowing that he treated Zheng Yanyan differently than he treated her.

Lost in thought, she suddenly heard a voice: “Smoking again? Weren’t you supposed to quit?”

Zhou Yuwen had approached quietly and, before Lu Lin realized, had taken the cigarette from her lips and put it out.

Seeing it was him, she couldn’t help but say, with a hint of bitterness, “What’s it to you? I’m not even your girlfriend.”

There she stood, leaning against the window with one leg raised in its black knee sock, facing him but refusing to look at him.

Amused, Zhou Yuwen reached out to lift her chin, looking down at her as he asked, “What? Are you jealous?”

“Hmph.” Lu Lin scoffed, feigning indifference. “Why would I be?”

“We’re just… keeping it casual. Don’t worry, I understand the rules. If you don’t need

anymore, just say the word, and it’s over.” Lu Lin swatted his hand away and pretended to be carefree as she tried to leave.

But just as she brushed past him, she felt his arm wrap firmly around her waist, pulling her against the wall. Before she could react, he restrained her wrists and pressed his lips to hers.

“Let’s see how long you can keep that attitude.”

“Mm!”

In that instant, Lu Lin wasn’t sure how she felt, but she didn’t resist, instead yielding to his embrace and even enjoying it.

She closed her eyes, letting Zhou Yuwen kiss her, and responded in kind.

“That outfit suits you,” Zhou Yuwen murmured in her ear, wrapping an arm around her waist.

Holding onto his neck, Lu Lin leaned in, breathing warmly against his ear, making it tingle.

Zhou Yuwen lightly bit her neck, his hands wandering down. Lu Lin’s JK outfit brought him an entirely new feeling.

As he kissed her, he whispered softly in her ear, “Did I ever say I wanted to end things with you?”

“Mm…”

“Baby,” he murmured.

“Mm~”

Trembling slightly, Lu Lin gathered her courage and reversed their positions, pressing Zhou Yuwen against the wall.

“So why can you pamper her by blow-drying her hair?”

In truth, Lu Lin probably shouldn’t be saying these things, considering Zhou Yuwen was supporting her. But in the end, she was still a young girl, and girls often speak without much reason.

Her expression seed a bit aggrieved.

Zhou Yuwen couldn’t help but smile, “So you are jealous?”

Lu Lin’s nose wrinkled as if she were holding back tears. Feeling embarrassed, she bit Zhou Yuwen’s neck gently.

Looking into his eyes, she whispered in a soft yet determined voice, “I am jealous!”

“Why? Are mistresses not allowed to feel jealous?” Lu Lin said, lifting herself onto her tiptoes as she pressed Zhou Yuwen against the wall to kiss him.

“Linlin! Are you upstairs?”

Suddenly, Zheng Yanyan’s voice rang out in the distance.

It was obvious she was near the stairway and getting closer.

“The performance is about to start! Where did you go?” Zheng Yanyan, with her long legs, quickly reached the third floor.

She paused for a mont, stunned at the scene in front of her.

Walking up to the window, she noticed a half-burned cigarette that had just been put out.

Muttering to herself, she said, “This Linlin, smoking again. Where did she go?”

“Lu Lin! Where are you? The performance is about to start!” Zheng Yanyan called out three tis down the hallway. Since she’d seen a cigarette butt, Lu Lin must be nearby.

The hallway was lined with student council offices.

Two of the offices had their lights on.

Zheng Yanyan went to check, but there was no one inside.

She left the area around the window with the cigarette butt.

Unbeknownst to her, there was a eting room across the hall, its door ajar and lights off.

Inside that eting room, Zhou Yuwen and Lu Lin were hiding in the corner.

With his back against the wall, Zhou Yuwen held Lu Lin close.

Once Zheng Yanyan’s voice faded into the distance, he whispered, “She’s gone. You should go back.”

Lu Lin looked up at him, a mischievous glint in her eye, resembling a little vixen. Her lips curled up in a slight smile in the dim light. “So, are you really that afraid of her?”

“Afraid?”

Zhou Yuwen chuckled at the notion. What was there to be afraid of?

“You have a performance, don’t you? She’s looking for you.”

“So what? I have sothing more important I want to do,” Lu Lin replied with a soft laugh.

“Don’t you want to?”

Looking at this sly version of Lu Lin, Zhou Yuwen couldn’t help but see her in a new light.

She was quite a bold little thing.

Before he could respond, she pressed against him, taking the lead and kissing him.

This was a full-on “kiss attack,” pinning Zhou Yuwen against the wall.

But he didn’t resist.

“Lu Lin, where on earth did you go?”

After searching the two lit offices and finding no one, Zheng Yanyan returned to the original spot and called out again for Lu Lin.

But what she didn’t know was that just a wall away…

Her dear friend…

Was with her dear boyfriend...
