After Tao Tian left, Zheng Yanyan continued to cling tightly to Zhou Yuwen without saying a word.

Zhou Yuwen asked her, “How long are you going to hold ?”

Zheng Yanyan replied, “I want to hold you forever.”

She rested her chin on his chest, looking up at him cutely.

Zhou Yuwen teased, “Haven’t seen you for three days, and sohow you look uglier? Let

take a look.”

Saying that, he held Zheng Yanyan’s small face and studied her closely.

This upset Zheng Yanyan, so she quickly let go of Zhou Yuwen, grabbed her phone, and checked herself on the front cara, muttering, “Do I? Linlin and I spent all day at the Internet café, and I didn’t wear makeup.”

While Zheng Yanyan was fixing her appearance, Zhou Yuwen asked Lu Lin, “You really spent the whole day at the Internet café?”

“What else? Go to your place instead?” Lu Lin asked back.

Zhou Yuwen chuckled, “I wouldn’t mind.”

Lu Lin rolled her eyes.

After finishing up the clams, Zheng Yanyan was already back in Zhou Yuwen’s arms, even more affectionate than before their recent cold spell. She clung to him, calling him “hubby” in a soft, playful voice, recounting everything that had happened over the past three days. She even complained that she’d lost weight because he’d ignored her.

Zhou Yuwen looked her up and down and said, “Where did you lose weight? I don’t see it.”

“It’s true! Ask Linlin if you don’t believe .”

As they chatted, Zhou Yuwen intended to walk Zheng Yanyan and her friends back to their dorm.

But Lu Lin, always considerate, said, “You don’t need to take . Yanyan probably doesn’t want to go back to the dorm anyway. You two should just find a private spot and, you know, do your thing.”

Zheng Yanyan was embarrassed by Lu Lin’s bluntness but giggled. “Linlin, you’re the best.”

Lu Lin just rolled her eyes and left, walking away in her cropped black tank top and wide-legged jeans with a stylishly carefree stride.

After Lu Lin left, Zheng Yanyan tugged on Zhou Yuwen’s hand, asking in a baby-like voice, “Can we go to your place to eat clams?”

Zhou Yuwen shook his head. “Forget it. I’m really tired today. Let’s just walk around campus, and I’ll take you back to the dorm.”

He was indeed worn out after a long day and a few drinks.

Zheng Yanyan looked disappointed at his response.

Seeing this, Zhou Yuwen gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek, saying, “We can go tomorrow; it’ll be the sa. Besides, it’s pretty late, and I still have to get you back to the dorm.”

“I can go back on my own,” she pouted.

“Really?”

“Yeah!”

“Don’t go clinging to

later and refusing to leave.”

“Stop it! What’s so great about your place anyway?”

Zhou Yuwen noticed her determination and, feeling a bit exasperated, sighed, “Fine, let’s go.”

“Yay!”

Zheng Yanyan happily jumped onto his back, her slight fra probably just over a hundred pounds. Zhou Yuwen carried her for a while, grumbling, “I must have bad luck to end up with you, my little troublemaker.”

“Stop it!”

With that, Zhou Yuwen held her close, walking away from the campus entrance. Honestly, their outfits didn’t really match at that mont. Zhou Yuwen, dressed neatly for work, looked a bit out of place next to Zheng Yanyan, who wore a casual, body-hugging beige knit top that accentuated her curves and a pair of slightly oversized undergarnts, making her waist appear even smaller.

In five minutes, they were at Zhou Yuwen’s apartnt. Zheng Yanyan had been eager to see his spacious 180-square-ter ho. Recently, during class, a teacher heard about her boyfriend living at Lanting and even asked her to take so photos of the place.

But, since she was in the middle of a spat with Zhou Yuwen at that ti, she’d awkwardly brushed it off.

The teacher had remarked, “Your boyfriend’s place looks well-decorated. You should take more photos if you get the chance.”

Now that she had the opportunity, Zheng Yanyan dashed to Zhou Yuwen’s apartnt, leaping onto the couch, snapping photos like crazy, and fiddling with her phone.

Watching her sprawled across the couch, Zhou Yuwen couldn’t help but find it amusing.

After all, she was still a young girl at heart. From his perspective, he saw her pink, shoulder-length hair falling over her shoulders, her knit top showing off her tiny waist, and her light blue jeans snugly fitting her figure, her small feet in ankle socks dangling idly.

Zhou Yuwen went to the open kitchen, got two plates, and served the clams.

He asked Zheng Yanyan, “What would you like to drink?”

“Anything.” She was too engrossed in editing her photos to really pay attention.

It was clear that she was enjoying the luxury of the large apartnt. Before, she never gave much thought to these things, but after attending a few classes and receiving complints from her classmates, she’d developed a bit of vanity. She even started to think about living here more permanently.

She carefully edited a few photos.

Then, she took a couple of shots of Zhou Yuwen, who was plating the clams in the open kitchen. Wearing a light-colored shirt with his sleeves rolled up, he looked every bit like a professional man in the kitchen.

Finally satisfied with her photo collection, she quickly posted a nine-photo grid to her social dia with the caption: “It’s nice to have a man who can cook!”

Her post received an imdiate wave of likes, with classmates comnting things like, “Jealous of the girl who gets to live in a big flat!”

“Jealous…

1”

“…

2”

“…

3”

Even her friends from Beijing teased her, “Out so late at a guy’s place? Planning to stay the night?”

Even her teacher liked the post, comnting, “Jealous!”

Pleased with herself, Zheng Yanyan replied to her teacher’s comnt with a shy emoji.

Then her teacher started comnting on the design of Zhou Yuwen’s place.

Her classmates even jokingly wrote, “Front-row seats! Soone bring chairs!”

The lively reaction on her social dia made Zheng Yanyan happy.

Stretching out on Zhou Yuwen’s sofa felt genuinely nice, and she relaxed a bit more.

“?”

She suddenly spotted a long black hair wedged in the sofa cushion.

She picked it up and sniffed it.

It slled familiar, like a common shampoo.

“Who are you texting? Smiling so happily?” Zhou Yuwen brought over the clams.

Eating clams really called for a carbonated drink, but since he was out, he’d brought a bottle of champagne instead.

“Oh, I was chatting with my teacher, hehe.” Zheng Yanyan brushed off her discovery. She’d just made up with Zhou Yuwen and didn’t want to let sothing minor like that cause tension between them. She figured it might’ve fallen out last ti her roommates visited.

She made room for him, and Zhou Yuwen poured two glasses of champagne. She crawled up to him, half-kneeling, wrapping her arms around his neck and pressing her chest against his head as she said, “Hubby, look, that’s my teacher.”

Zhou Yuwen glanced at her screen, surprised at how quickly her post had blown up.

She shared that her classmates all loved this teacher, who’d once studied at Waseda University, worked at a big company after graduating, and ca to the university to teach after getting married. She was well-liked for her stylish flair.

“All my classmates love her. Her bag is from LV and costs over twenty thousand!” She spoke with open admiration.

Such female teachers were fairly common in college, typically won with comfortable backgrounds who took a teaching job for a bit of leisure. They often had good relationships with students.

Just then, soone in her class group chat tagged her after seeing her post: “Yanyan, share more photos of your boyfriend’s place with us!”

“Yes, Sister Yan, you kept saying you didn’t have ti before. Now you’re finally free, so show us a few pics!”

Her class had mostly female students.

Seeing this, Zheng Yanyan snapped a picture of her holding the champagne and posted it to the group.

“Busy living luxuriously with my man, no ti.”

“666!”

When she took the photo, Zhou Yuwen instinctively ducked out of the fra, which made her pout, “I wasn’t even taking your picture.”

“Why do you always act like you don’t want anyone to see us together?” she asked, with a hint of vulnerability.

“It’s not that,” Zhou Yuwen replied, kissing her on the cheek, “I just don’t think it’s a good idea to share in the class group.”

Zheng Yanyan countered, “Don’t think I don’t know.”

“Know what?”

“You’re just worried Su Qing will see it.” Zheng Yanyan said pointedly.

“You’re overthinking things.”

“I don’t care anymore. What’s past is past. You’re my man now, and as long as you focus on , I’m fine. I even found a strand of

Su Qing’s hair in the couch, and I didn’t get mad.” She leaned her head on Zhou Yuwen’s leg, continuing softly.

“That’s my good girl,” he replied.

“Hehe.”

After sending that last picture, her group chat erupted with people egging her on. Lying on Zhou Yuwen’s leg, she giggled as she responded to each one.

Zhou Yuwen didn’t understand the fun in all this.

But Zheng Yanyan loved being the center of attention, basking in her newfound popularity.

Especially when her favorite teacher, Sun Xue, joined in, comnting: “@Zheng Yanyan, Krug—your boyfriend has good taste!”

She laughed, showing the ssage to Zhou Yuwen. “My teacher says you have great taste!”

While this ant little to Zhou Yuwen, the students took their teacher’s praise to heart. Teacher Sun had nad the champagne brand, so everyone rushed to look it up, admiring it online.

College professors, especially affluent ones, often had close ties with well-off students, bonding over perfus and designer bags.

To Zhou Yuwen, all this was aningless, but it clearly won Sun Xue’s attention. She even shared so design advice for his apartnt.

Zheng Yanyan responded sweetly in the group, “Thanks, Teacher Sun! I’ll tell him right now (smile).”

Zhou Yuwen rolled his eyes, dismissing, “What does she know?”

“Hey! Don’t talk about my teacher that way!” Zheng Yanyan giggled.

“Are you eating these clams or not?” he asked, glancing at the vermicelli, which was getting soggy.

Clearly, clams weren’t on her mind anymore.

Feeling pleased with all the complints, Zheng Yanyan got up from his lap, looking him seriously in the eyes.

“Hubby.”

“What is it?”

“I’m falling more in love with you.”

Out of nowhere, she said that and then wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing him.

Zhou Yuwen was sitting upright on the sofa, and she kneeled beside him, leaning in to kiss him.

Of course, he didn’t resist.

Zheng Yanyan ended up straddling his lap, pulling him into a deeper kiss.

Zhou Yuwen hesitated briefly before resting his hands on her waist.

They kissed like that, Yanyan letting out soft sounds.

During the kiss, she started unbuttoning her knit top, pulling his hands where she wanted them.

To be honest, Zhou Yuwen wasn’t in the mood that night.

But seeing her longing expression, he gave in, following her lead to make her feel good.

anwhile, back in the boys’ dorm.

Everyone knows there’s a delay when logging off gas.

Chang Hao had wanted to play a ga with Zheng Yanyan.

But she said she was waiting for her boyfriend.

So he asked again.

Zheng Yanyan didn’t reply, and he figured she’d made up with Zhou Yuwen. It put him in a foul mood, especially since yesterday, she’d waited outside the classroom for Zhou Yuwen.

But he hadn’t shown up, aning they hadn’t patched things up then.

How did they make up so fast?

Chang Hao felt irritated and played another couple of gas. After each round, he checked her account, and she was still online.

Was she still waiting for Zhou Yuwen?

He didn’t get it. People say dating is all about emotional support, yet here she was, waiting on him endlessly, already over an hour.

What was Zhou Yuwen even doing?

In Chang Hao’s mind, Zhou Yuwen didn’t deserve her if he couldn’t even appreciate her.

If she’d chosen him, he’d always be there for her, never leaving her to wait.

She deserved better, soone who’d cherish her.

He may not have Zhou Yuwen’s looks, but he was from Beijing, and his family wasn’t lacking either.

Why wouldn’t she choose him?

If she chose him, he’d never let her wait.

With a heart full of sympathy for her, he couldn’t help himself and sent her a ssage.

Trying to cheer her up, he asked, “Still waiting on Zhou Yuwen?”

By now, it was already past one in the morning.

He waited around ten minutes.

Finally, there was a response from her side.

It was from Zhou Yuwen himself.

“I’m Zhou Yuwen; she’s asleep.”

????

In just eight words, Chang Hao felt his heart stop.

He felt embarrassed, like he’d been caught red-handed doing sothing shaful.

“Oh, it’s you, Brother Zhou!”

“Still up so late? (Facepalm)”

“I saw Yanyan online and thought I’d invite her for a ga. Didn’t realize it was you. (Facepalm)”

“Were you guys up all night at the Internet café? (Facepalm)”

“No, she’s at my place.”

“Oh, at your place, huh? (Facepalm)”

“Really at your place? (Facepalm)”
