Chapter 12: Self-Introductions

On the first day of school, everyone wanted to make a good impression and had endless topics to talk about, making the classroom particularly noisy. It wasn't until the counselor entered that the noise subsided a bit.

The counselor, a man in his late twenties wearing black-rimd glasses and slightly chubby, looked scholarly. He wrote his na, You Changjin, on the blackboard and then pushed up his glasses, saying, "If nothing unexpected happens, I'll be leading our class for the next four years."

You Changjin briefly talked about so important aspects of university life, like how freshn wouldn't have many classes, so they might not see him often. If they needed anything, they could find him in the administration building, room 413.

"Tomorrow at 9 AM, you need to pick up your uniforms for military training, which will last for three weeks. Before that, we need to elect a male and female class representative. During military training, most issues can be reported directly to the class representatives. Does anyone here have experience as a class representative?"

Three people raised their hands—two girls and one boy. The boy was Lu Yuhang.

When he raised his hand, Li Qiang was surprised, "You were a class representative?"

"So what if he was?" Chang Hao said.

"I just didn't see it," Li Qiang laughed.

One of the girls was the one Li Qiang had been ogling, and the other looked quite decent, dressed like a typical high school student.

You Changjin nodded slightly at the three, "Okay, let's have each student introduce themselves. Besides these three, anyone interested in running for class representative can volunteer. Due to ti constraints, we'll only be electing class representatives for now, and we'll have another election after military training."

You Changjin kept it short and then had everyone introduce themselves. He didn't bother calling nas from the roster, instead having students co up by rows.

The most beautiful girl in the class was Gu Yaoyao, the one with long legs in white denim shorts. She had a good aura, wore so small brand clothes, and had her hair in a ponytail, giving off a campus belle vibe. She confidently waved at everyone from the stage, "Hi! I'm Gu Yaoyao from Southern Anhui. I'm very happy to et you all and look forward to spending a wonderful college life together."

Before Gu Yaoyao even finished, the students below started whispering. The landscaping engineering class had over forty students, with about twenty boys, and Gu Yaoyao was the prettiest among them. The boys were especially drawn to her long legs. When Gu Yaoyao said she was running for class representative, the boys cheered, with one in particular, Jiang Chao, standing up to applaud vigorously.

After Gu Yaoyao stepped down, Jiang Chao ran up to the stage, "Hi everyone! I'm Jiang Chao from Jinling. There isn't a place in Jinling that I don't know. If anyone wants to explore, just find ! Also, I have a question for Gu Yaoyao—do you have a boyfriend?"

"Oh~!" The class imdiately erupted in laughter and teasing.

Gu Yaoyao laughed, too, giving Jiang Chao a playful look. This made Jiang Chao feel elated, as if she were encouraging him. He couldn't help but puff out his chest.

"Say what you need to say and don't waste others' ti," You Changjin said coolly.

Feeling embarrassed, Jiang Chao smiled awkwardly and started to leave the stage but then rembered sothing, "Oh, right! I'm running for class representative too! Please vote for !"

The class laughed again.

Guys like Jiang Chao were quite popular in college, but not everyone was pleased. Chang Hao, watching Jiang Chao's antics, felt disdainful, muttering about how boring it was.

"What a clown. Thinks he's so great because he's from Jinling," Chang Hao said quietly.

Li Qiang laughed, "Yeah, can't compare to you, Brother Hao."

Jiang Chao's introduction lightened the mood, and the remaining students were more relaxed. Liu Yue, Lu Yuhang, and Li Qiang all introduced themselves.

Liu Yue ntioned she was from Anhui, but her parents worked in Beijing, making her half a Beijinger!

Li Qiang teased, "Brother Hao, she's from your hotown!"

"Not really," Chang Hao replied.

Lu Yuhang gave a simple introduction and stepped down.

You Changjin asked curiously, "Yuhang, don't you want to be a class representative?"

Lu Yuhang, a high school class representative and top student, just shook his head. He didn't like the tedious tasks involved.

So, Jiang Chao was the only one running for male class representative.

"You've got it, Chao!" his roommate whispered.

"Just hope Gu Yaoyao gets elected too."

"Don't worry, Chao! We’ll all vote for Gu Yaoyao!"

Their conversation was loud enough for Gu Yaoyao and her friends to hear. Liu Yue whispered to Gu Yaoyao, "They're talking about you!"

Gu Yaoyao turned and smiled politely at Jiang Chao, which made him even more energized.

"What an idiot," Chang Hao muttered, seeing the scene unfold.

"Brother Hao, your turn," Li Qiang said.

It was Chang Hao's turn to introduce himself. Without Jiang Chao's antics, Chang Hao would have been confident, but now he felt reluctant to speak.

"Chang Hao, from Beijing!"

Chang Hao, wearing branded clothes and Jordan basketball shoes, looked like a city kid. He planned to stop there but added, "Oh, right, I'm running for class representative too. I don’t think being a local has anything to do with being a good class representative, right?"

The class laughed, turning to look at Jiang Chao.

Jiang Chao, still basking in Gu Yaoyao’s smile, wasn’t happy about Chang Hao’s remark and glared at him.

Chang Hao didn’t back down, staring back confidently.

After Chang Hao, it was Zhou Yuwen's turn.

"Hi everyone, I’m Zhou Yuwen from Xu Zhou. I'm the exclusive distributor of mobile campus cards at Xianlin University City. If anyone needs a campus card, feel free to contact ," Zhou Yuwen said simply.
