The song "Begging the Gods" is a relatively old Cantonese song with little popularity. It first debuted in a performance by Leslie Cheung on a variety show, where he sang it as part of a skit with an actress, portraying a scholar flirting with a woman he was smitten with.
It was also featured in the movie Flirting Scholar.
If it were up to Zhou Yuwen, he definitely wouldn’t have chosen this song. Chen Jiaming selected it to impress Lu Lin, but how could Zhou Yuwen let that happen?
He intercepted the duet, and it was clear that he and Lu Lin were perfectly in sync. As they sang, the audience applauded enthusiastically.
So girls even exclaid, “Wow, they look so good together.”

After the song, Lu Lin had tried to hand the microphone to Zheng Yanyan, but she didn’t even acknowledge it.
Zheng Yanyan didn’t respond to Lu Lin and instead ran straight to Zhou Yuwen, pushing aside the girls who were chatting with him.
“He’s your boyfriend?” The girls were surprised at first, but then it clicked. “Oh, are you the one who added us to the group earlier?”
“You’re the one who said you could find us better part-ti jobs, right?”
When they realized that the person in front of them was Zhou Yuwen, their eyes lit up even more.
Everyone knew that the flashy BMW M4 making waves at school belonged to Zhou Yuwen, and when he had joined their group chat, he had sent a large red envelope, solidifying his status as soone wealthy.
Not only was Zhou Yuwen rich, but he was also incredibly handso.
How did Zheng Yanyan manage to snag such a good-looking boyfriend?
“Hey, Zhou Yuwen, can we take so pictures with your car later?”
The girls were pretty direct.
Zhou Yuwen replied, “I didn’t drive today.”
“Oh.”
The girls looked disappointed but quickly asked if they could add him on WeChat, in case there was a chance to hang out later.

If it were anyone else, Zhou Yuwen might have exchanged WeChats, but Zheng Yanyan was a jealous girlfriend. There was no way anyone would be adding Zhou Yuwen on WeChat in front of her.
Even when the girls argued that it was for work—they needed to contact him for part-ti jobs—Zheng Yanyan wouldn’t budge, keeping a close eye on Zhou Yuwen.
Tao Tian, ever the instigator, teased, “You know, you could just secretly add him.”

with them!”
“No adding anyone! You can only have !” To assert her dominance, Zheng Yanyan sat directly on Zhou Yuwen's lap and playfully pinched his lips.
Zhou Yuwen smiled and said, “Everyone’s watching, keep it down.”
“Promise you won’t add anyone!” Zheng Yanyan demanded.
Zhou Yuwen replied, “I gave you my phone. How can I add anyone?”
The girls giggled, finding Zhou Yuwen's way of pampering Zheng Yanyan adorable.
Satisfied, Zheng Yanyan kissed him in front of everyone.
Since they couldn’t add Zhou Yuwen, the girls suggested drinking with him instead.
“Let’s have another drink with Boss Zhou!” Tao Tian, sounding like a party host, egged everyone on.
Surrounded by enthusiastic girls and with Zheng Yanyan in his arms, Zhou Yuwen found it hard to manage the situation.
With Zheng Yanyan distracted, Lu Lin found so peace and quiet.
Chen Jiaming, who had been thwarted earlier by Zhou Yuwen, was still upset. But seeing Lu Lin return, he decided to brush off the setback and tried chatting her up again, complinting her Cantonese singing.
“If only I could sing a duet with you soti.”
Lu Lin didn’t feel like engaging with him. Watching Zhou Yuwen surrounded by girls, she only felt boredom.
