“Co down here. Even if you insist on becoming an Apostle, we need to check this place first!” Qin Lun waved to Little Mute standing at the entrance of the Space-Ti Converter and turned to examine the entire research room. “This is a research facility. There should be other auxiliary equipnt and dicines here. Let’s see if we can find anything that might help you!”
A short while later, Qin Lun held three serums that Little Mute had found. These three serums were stored in a hidden safe in the research room. The safe had a self-destruct device installed. If it weren’t for Little Mute, not only would they have been unable to retrieve them, they might not even have discovered them.
“Void Beast Serum: Extracted from the temporal sac of the Void Beast, supplented with various soul-enhancing dicines. It can effectively increase the soul energy of sapient beings. For a certain period, it transforms the physical body of a sapient being into a void constitution.”
“Void Beast Serum!” Qin Lun frowned slightly as he looked at the small syringe in his hand. The rcury-like liquid inside gave him a sense of déjà vu. It seed similar to the Apostle serum that Mina, the little princess of the Anka Tribe, had used to transform herself long ago.
The Suspended Continents were covered by the Shattered Starry Sky’s law barrier. The void space between the continents was not ordinary cosmic space-ti, but a kind of dinsional space. Void Beasts were unique creatures that lived in this dinsional space.
Void Beasts were enormous in size. The smallest were as large as hills, while the larger ones could even swallow so tiny Suspended Continents. Void Beasts were very rare and generally did not appear before people. Both Apostles and Sapient Races knew very little about them.
Everyone only knew that when a Suspended Continent was born or about to perish, large numbers of Void Beasts would appear in the surrounding dinsional space. They acted like cleaners for the Shattered Starry Sky, actively devouring parts that broke off from the Suspended Continents. This kept the dinsional space tidy and ensured there were no other floating debris around the Suspended Continents.
For Sapient Races and Apostles, Void Beasts were treasures from head to toe. They were an important source of materials for many space-ti equipnt and also served as construction materials for team demiplanes.
At the sa ti, whenever traces of Void Beasts appeared around a Suspended Continent, everyone knew that continent was about to be destroyed and would imdiately choose to migrate. Therefore, Void Beasts were also called the Gods of Death of destruction!
Void Beasts active in dinsional space could be killed. Both Sapient Races and Apostles could attack Void Beasts using various thods. However, this behavior was very dangerous. Once swallowed by a Void Beast, even a High-Rank Apostle would certainly die.
The Void Beast Serum from the Atlantis Sacred City originated from the early days of continent traversal. Its reserves were extrely scarce. It was another thod to transform ordinary sapient beings into Apostles.
After an ordinary person was injected with the Void Beast Serum, they would temporarily transform into a void constitution. This also allowed the Shattered Starry Sky to recognize this being as a cross-dinsional traveler, thus granting them a Law Body conversion process.
The Void Beast Serum contained dicines that enhanced soul energy, allowing ordinary people to endure the conversion process for a longer ti. However, whether one could beco an Apostle ultimately depended on the soul essence of the being. If it lacked the characteristic of traversing space-ti, it would ultimately fail.
“Stretch out your arm!” Qin Lun sighed and spoke indifferently to Little Mute.
Little Mute pressed his lips together. A trace of nervousness finally appeared on his usually expressionless face. He pushed up his dirty sleeve, revealing a thin arm like a reed stick.
Qin Lun expressionlessly injected a Void Beast Serum into Little Mute’s arm. As soon as the injection was done, a faint blush appeared on Little Mute’s face. He staggered toward the Space-Ti Converter as if drunk.
“Don’t die!” Qin Lun watched Little Mute enter the space-ti conversion tunnel. With a subtle expression, he pressed the start button with his palm.
“Boom!” The Space-Ti Converter standing in the center of the research room rumbled loudly. The law runes on the surface of the massive device lit up one by one, giving a feeling as if an ancient giant beast was awakening from its slumber.
Little Mute staggered into the Space-Ti Converter. His skin began to glow and turn red, slowly becoming transparent. The movents of his internal organs were visible through his skin. He was about to convert into a void constitution and simultaneously begin reconstructing the Law Body of an Apostle. Whether he would succeed or not depended on his soul characteristics.
Qin Lun sat down leaning against the steel wall. He had done all he could. The rest was up to Little Mute himself.
The young man’s eyes flickered slightly. He suddenly had a feeling. Perhaps there was no Celestial Wheel branch demiplane in this Domination War area designated by the Shattered Starry Sky. The Space-Ti Converter before his eyes was probably the true objective of the Shattered Starry Sky.
The temporary employnt task given to him by the Shattered Starry Sky, the ten-minute countdown, had long ended. In fact, even without the matter of Little Mute, Qin Lun would not have carried out this task. He felt the price offered by the Shattered Starry Sky was too low.
This temporary employnt task had no failure penalty. After all, Qin Lun was currently still in the Domination War period. If he didn’t execute this employnt task, the Shattered Starry Sky could do nothing about him.
The relationship between the Shattered Starry Sky and Apostles was one of employnt, not master and servant. Although the so-called Otherworld Missions were semi-forced in nature, that was ultimately the cost and obligation Apostles had to pay to live in the Shattered Starry Sky. Otherwise, they could only be expelled from the Shattered Starry Sky by the World Law.
The Shattered Starry Sky was a collection of laws. It couldn’t simply erase Apostles when displeased like a sapient being could. It could only employ Apostles for tasks based on equivalent exchange principles. Apart from the Main Plotline of Otherworld Missions, other employnt tasks could only bind Apostles through benefits.
Increasing the task evaluation by one rank was not a small reward, but it depended on the situation. If Qin Lun possessed cross-tier combat power and perford exceptionally well during the Domination War, then raising the evaluation by one more rank might possibly result in a Silver or Gold Evaluation.
However, after observing the strength of so monsters through the surveillance caras, Qin Lun felt that no matter what he did, he couldn’t achieve that level of performance. Naturally, he was not very satisfied with the conditions offered by the Shattered Starry Sky. Upgrading from a Black Iron task evaluation to a Bronze evaluation ant nothing to the young man.
Therefore, Qin Lun planned to stall. He would wait until the Shattered Starry Sky offered a reasonable price before truly destroying the Space-Ti Converter. He wasn’t worried at all that the Shattered Starry Sky would issue this temporary employnt task to other Apostles in the Domination War area.
If the Shattered Starry Sky could so easily locate the Space-Ti Converter, it would have issued this task right at the beginning of the Domination War. Qin Lun estimated that only when he ca into contact with the Space-Ti Converter could the Shattered Starry Sky sense its existence. Once he let go, the Shattered Starry Sky would lose its sensing.
As for the countdown of the temporary employnt task, Qin Lun believed this was precisely because the Shattered Starry Sky couldn’t determine the exact location of the Space-Ti Converter that it used this implicit forcing thod. Unfortunately, without specific task penalties, it was completely ignored by the young man.
Qin Lun hung his head and silently waited for the result of the space-ti conversion. Recalling all the events since this Domination War began, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of being destined by fate.
Apostle ch, Space-Ti Converter… There were over two hundred Apostles in this Domination War area. Yet, these two crucially important things were only connected to him.
If there was so logic to him discovering the Apostle ch, then the Space-Ti Converter was completely an accident. Who would have thought that a montary whim, picking up a Holy City Orphan, would lead him to discover such a secret.
However, thinking back, it also seed inevitable. How could an orphan who survived in the Holy City for over two years not have so secrets? Apart from Qin Lun, who also had orphan experiences, other Apostles would probably find it difficult to take an interest in Little Mute. So it was only natural that he was the first to discover the Space-Ti Converter.
The countdown for the temporary employnt task quickly ran out. The Shattered Starry Sky did not issue any follow-up tasks regarding the Space-Ti Converter. However, Qin Lun wasn’t worried. After Little Mute’s result ca out, he would still touch the Space-Ti Converter. Then he would see how the Shattered Starry Sky reacted.
If there really were no follow-up tasks, at most he would sell the secret of the Space-Ti Converter to the Demon Clan or the Elven Race after the war. Although the success rate of the Space-Ti Converter was negligible, this thing still had great value and held an irresistible temptation for the Sapient Races.
“Hiss!” Just as Qin Lun was deep in thought, the Space-Ti Converter made a sound like a locomotive exhaling. The law runes on it slowly began to dim, as if the entire conversion process had ended.
A sharp light flashed in Qin Lun’s eyes. He slowly stood up and walked toward the other end of the Space-Ti Converter. His mouth felt dry. Although he had only been with Little Mute for a few days, he always felt an inexplicable concern for this Holy City Orphan.
At first, Qin Lun thought this was due to his guilt over the warehouse massacre. However, he quickly dismissed this idea. Perhaps he now felt that emotion called guilt, but it wasn’t strong enough to make him save soone.
His concern for Little Mute was largely because he saw another shadow in Little Mute.
“Whew!” Reaching the other end of the tunnel-like Space-Ti Converter, Qin Lun let out a long breath. From a distance, he could see a small naked figure lying at the exit of the Space-Ti Converter.
Due to the Law Body reconstruction, Little Mute’s clothes had disappeared. His skin was flawless and clean, no longer dirty like before. Only his limbs were still as thin as sticks, making his head appear enormous, like a little turnip head.
His originally ssy bird’s nest hair was now clean. Lying on the ground, his long black hair covered his body like brocade, even covering his palm-sized bottom.
“Huh!” Qin Lun crouched down and picked him up. Little Mute’s eyes were closed, his breathing steady. However, after examining him, a strange expression appeared on Qin Lun’s face.
“A female?!”
