Chapter 326: Dolly’s Little Ploy

Sarah broke her gaze from Dolly’s evil ones and for so ti, it alternated between Steffan who was sleeping soundly under the bewitching hands of Dolly and her husband who was seeking her opinion from the look in his eyes.

Seeing the challenging look dolly was still giving her, Sarah suddenly made up her mind.

What was there to be afraid of? Although she couldn’t deny that Dolly was actually good at her job, she was not the only person who can treat her son. So she had no right to hold the family to ransom because of a few massages, so she spoke up.

"My son rembered the wonderful ti he had with his fiancée, that was why he was agitated. I guess he was too overwheld by the happiness it brought to him. Are you satisfied now?" She sneered, pushing her chin forward in a defiant pout.

While still maintaining a professional smile on her face, Dolly said,

"It’s not about

being satisfied, Madam. But about your son’s health." She tried to sound professional, despite dying to know what exactly Steffan had rembered for him to be that excited.

Sarah’s nose turned up in a disdainful smirk as she retorted,

"We know very well what is wrong with our son. Don’t think you can co here and act recklessly because you know a few Massaging techniques."

She was not one to allow anyone take advantage of her. If this woman thinks that she can use her son’s health to make her do what she didn’t want to then she’d better think twice.

"Now get lost. Your job here is over and don’t you dare do anything rash with my son’s head again, I’m warning you."

Dolly was completely stunned and for so seconds her hand that was still massaging Steffan’s forehead stopped unconsciously.

Was this woman a witch? She never knew this woman was this sharp eyed and at the sa ti stubborn. Did she find out what I just did to Steffan?

But she had been very careful when she applied the pressure on his head? Maybe she was just making a wild guess and wasn’t sure of what she was saying. Yes, that is it. No one has ever caught her in the act before and definitely not now.

As for leaving here, she wasn’t going to give up just yet, after all, she just arrived and has not enjoyed the feel of this magnificent place enough.

So she turned to the only person that seed not to be averse to her presence in the family.

"Uncle, we still need to be sure of Steffan’s stability before I can be at rest. The massage is ant to continue for at least another one hour with a few breaks in between. Do you also think it’s wise for

to leave?" She asked with an expression that was difficult to refuse

Besides, if I should leave now, what will I tell Dr Sullivan if he asks

how the patient is and why I didn’t finish my work?"

Listening to the girl’s reasoning so intelligently, David had a conflicted look as he turned to his wife who instantly looked away.

Dolly’s keen eyes took in this little interaction and directly made use to her advantage. So she changed her route without a second thought.

"See, Uncle also knows that it’s best for

to continue with the massage a little longer, but he doesn’t want to go against you, Madam. But we need to think of Steffan’s well-being in all these." Dolly said with feigned understanding.

Stanley, who had not said anything since he ca in with Candace, was furious. ’What is she trying to do? Pitching his parents against each other. What’s her intention of saying those things? Is she in any way trying to make father think that mother was unreasonable in her demands? Seeing how she was so manipulative, his disdain for her soared incredibly.

"I think Steffan should be alright after the dication. You can leave now, Doctor," he said, completely dashing the little hope Dolly had entertained earlier.

At the sa ti, David also spoke. "Thanks for your services Doctor, the butler will see you out, now," he said with an air of finality that left no room for argunt or negotiation.

Who was David Rosse?

If he couldn’t see through Dolly’s little ploy, then he doesn’t deserve his place among the first four prominent families in Baltimore.

He had done business with the high and mighty, dark and simple, innocent and dubious, wise and foolish and has been exposed to all manner of sches in the heart of n.

So the little doctor’s act here was just like a feather that just a little breeze from his nostrils could blow away.

He was only trying to make the silly girl understand the place of his wife in the family that was why he had humored her this long. And he was sure she would have gotten the answer by now.

Dolly saw the cold look on David’s face and her heart sank imdiately. She couldn’t believe that the whole family did not value her usefulness even in such a critical situation. In other words, they threw her out and she could see that she was no match against Mrs Rosse.

She gritted her teeth, and was grateful she had let her hair down while coming, which was a great help in concealing the movents in her jaw as she gnashed her teeth to suppress the fury in her heart.

Defeated, she bowed her head in sha, unable to look at any of their faces. She was sure they would be gloating at her by now, especially Mrs Rosse.

And again, since she had been found out, she couldn’t do anything to Steffan to threaten them with so she had no choice but to quietly leave.

She gently moved her hands away from Steffan’s head but her hand was suddenly grabbed by a strong hand forcing it to remain in place.
