Chapter 197: What The Heck Is Going On Here?
Shawn glanced around, his lips pressed into a thin line, clearly showing his impatience.
"I’m alright. I only need to be left alone for now."
"But..." The cold glare from Shawn forced his mouth to close instantly.
"You can go and rest, Master Shawn. I will ensure that no one disturbs you," he hurriedly said the mont Shawn moved his gaze from him.
"Is my mother at ho?"
"She left almost at the sa ti that you left this morning and she hasn’t been back," Mr Wallace answered.
"I overheard her say over the phone that she will be eting up with so friends at the spa later in the day."
"She probably might be there by this ti."
Assuming Shawn needed help to get to his room, he generously offered, "Do you need
to assist you inside?"
The coldness emanating from the young master made him instantly realize he had asked the wrong question.
"I’m sorry sir," he mumbled and quietly watched as Shawn walked away.
As soon as Shawn’s figure disappeared from his sight, and he was sure that he was no longer within earshot, Mr Wallace pulled out his phone to call Johnson, Shawn’s assistant.
"Assistant Johnson, where did you and the Young Master go this morning?"
Johnson, who had just been disturbed from his work, was not the least pleased. "What sort of question is that?"
Mr Wallace was not surprised at Johnson’s tone of voice. The only person he has ever truly been submissive to was the Young Master.
"You don’t need to shout. I wonder why you are always so grumpy at your age. You are still so young. At this rate, your first child will find it a huge task counting your gray hair before you turn forty. That’s if you agree to get married before then, which I doubt."
Johnson almost vomited blood from the other end of the phone. "If you don’t have anything to say, buzz off and stop disturbing my work."
"Or better still, just go and take the inventory for the house, I guess you haven’t restocked it for this month."
"I was wondering what kind of assistance would watch his boss get beaten up and unable to lift a finger, but it turned out to be soone like you," Mr Wallace threw back.
"You had better not insult m.... What did you just say? Who was beaten up?" Johnson suddenly caught hold of the main point.
Mr Wallace’s lips curled in disdain. "So you are not even aware of what is going on."
Johnson was no longer in the mood to bicker with the butler as he ordered impatiently. "Hurry up and tell , what happened to my boss?"
"You have to co to the manor to find out for yourself. But do rember to put a call across to the hospital to send a doctor across."
’Is it that serious? For him to ask
to call the hospital.’
But there are nurses there in the manor. Why didn’t they start with so first aids?
But there was no way Mr Wallace could have heard what Johnson was thinking via a telephone conversation as the next minute he warned,
"And also nobody must know anything about this conversation in the future, especially the Young Master, otherwise you will not have a good end."
Johnson was speechless. Was he actually cursing him? Anyways, he will deal with that latter. What mattered now was his boss. "Quit whining and tell
if there’s any other thing," Johnson said.
"Tschew.," hissed Mr Wallace before ending the call.
He realized he had wasted so much ti on that stone faced assistant.
He had more important things to quickly put in place.
After ending the call, he went straight to old Mrs Hudson’s quarters and t with the senior nurse who was responsible for the daily report of old Mrs Hudson’s health status to the doctor.
Without bothering with a greeting, he went straight to his mission. "In a mont your boss will give you a call. If he asks you anything about the old lady, just tell him what I am about to tell you now."
"Is anything the matter?" The nurse asked with furrowed brows.
"Skip the questions. There is no ti to explain now, just follow my direction."
"Alright," she dared not press further since he was the third person in charge here after the Boss and the Boss’s mother.
After settling the affairs, all Mr Wallace had to do was wait patiently.
In another forty five minutes, a luxurious rcedes Maybach pulled up in front of Hudson Manor and stepping out of the car was none other than Kathleen.
Just like Shawn, she was received by Mr Wallace who suspiciously was not surprised to see her.
But Kathleen had little ti to take note of that flaw.
After exchanging a brief greeting with Mr Wallace, who has always been kind to her before she left the country, she hurried over to old Mrs Hudson’s apartnt and pushed open the door to her room in a rush, barely responding to the greetings from the two nurses.
Her mouth hung open at the sight before her. "What the heck is going on here?"
She was surprised to get a call from Dr Sullivan not long after she left his office and had casually answered the call, only for him to plead with her to go to Hudson Manor as an ergency had just occurred.
From the urgency in his tone and how insistent he was, she assud sothing bad had happened to old Mrs Hudson.
Was it a relapse? but she was confident in her abilities and the treatnt she had given. So a relapse was completely out of the question.
She had to reschedule the eting she was having with the engineers that were to start construction work at the site they had gotten for the hospital.
All the way down she had to beat several traffic lights to arrive here only to be t with this sight?
