Chapter 173: This Is What I Call A Kiss.
The current Cheryl was different from the one that snuggled up to him on the couch just now.
Seeing the way her body had suddenly stiffened in his embrace, Jason gently turned her around to face him and lifted her chin.
A rush of emotions surged through Cheryl as she stared at Jason’s exquisitely perfect features.
With the enigmatic smile which lighted up Jason’s face, a lump caught in Cheryl’s throat as she continued to gaze at the incredibly handso man that belonged to her alone.
Her thick lashes framing her eyes flickered inexplicably and she lowered her gaze downwards.
Seeing how smitten Cheryl was, Jason decided not to tease her any further and gently led her outside the house, his arms snaked around her tender waist.
Together on the porch as the evening sun painted the sky in hues of orange and pink, and the gentle breeze played with her hair, Cheryl finally relaxed.
She leaned into Jason’s arms, and they shared a comfortable silence.
As the night deepened, their conversation transitioned from playful banter to more serious topics about their future.
It was much later that Jason reluctantly turned to Cheryl.
"I think I should go back now to accompany my sister and the kids before they go to sleep. I left ho very early in the morning and haven’t seen them today."
Cheryl nodded in understanding, her gaze fixed on the horizon.
As Jason got ready to leave, she gently placed her hand on Jason’s. "I’ll advise that you don’t actively oppose Shawn. He is the only person your sister has ever truly and still loves, and I want her to have soone to share her quiet monts with just like we have."
Jason nodded, considering Cheryl’s words. "I will try to give it so thought. I also want my sister to be happy but if Shawn can no longer give her that happiness, I don’t mind making him my enemy to extricate Janice from the web he has woven around her."
"It won’t get to that," Cheryl said softly.
"I hope so." Jason leaned against his car, his legs crossed over each other.
"When can I see you again?"
Jason chortled, "What? You can’t bear to part with ?"
"Bye." Cheryl stepped back, pushed Jason into the car and closed the car door.
Jason, who has been unceremoniously forced into the car, was doubtless speechless and poked his head through the window, "Just like that?"
At Cheryl’s raised eyebrow, Jason complained, "Not even a goodbye kiss?"
She blew him a kiss and the next minute Jason jumped down from his car.
Before Cheryl could know what was happening he had planted a lingering kiss on her lips.
"This is what I call a kiss." He released her when he felt his body heating up, went back into his car, and left a stupefied Cheryl staring after him as he drove off.
The next day, he left the house to Wyatt Corporations with his sister but that was after they had dropped the children in school.
As they passed by Hudson Corporations to the children’s school, there was an eerie silence in the car. The children were careful not to ntion anything about Hudson Corporations to their mother’s hearing.
Kathleen felt sothing was off with the children as she noticed that unlike before that they would talk about and praise the huge company nonstop, they said nothing about it today.
She couldn’t help but wonder if they had linked Shawn with it because of the na, "Hudson" displayed boldly on the signage.
After sending them to school, it was already 9am by the ti they got to Wyatt Corporations.
In the huge but comfortable reception of Wyatt Corporations, Jason and Kathleen made a grand entrance, exuding elegance and sophistication as they both made their way to the president’s exclusive elevator after responding to the greetings from the staff at the reception.
It was also the first ti they were seeing their beautiful female president in the company after they saw her trending with President Hudson.
So as soon as they saw the siblings stepped into the elevator, whispers and murmurs rippled through the office as the staff paused their tasks, montarily captivated by the duo’s exceptional appearance, which seed straight out of a high-end fashion magazine.
"Wow, did you see President Jason and his sister? They look absolutely stunning today!"
The conversation buzzed with admiration, discussing the siblings’ remarkable appearance and the air of sophistication they brought with them.
"Wow! And President Janice. She is so breathtakingly gorgeous today."
"What a sight to behold so early in the morning. I am instantly energized for the day’s work just by seeing yhe two siblings."
Jason and Kathleen, unaware of the stir they were causing, made their way through the offices in an impromptu office tour. They were greeted by welcoming smiles and respectful nods.
It was so serious that even during the lunch break, the only topic trending in the company cafeteria was news about the two siblings and appreciation for their impeccable leadership style.
"It’s so rare to see the two appear together at the company. Is there any special event today?"
"I heard there is going to be a eting with the executives later today."
"Can you believe I almost asked for an autograph before I rembered they were actually our bosses?"
"Their appearance was impeccable. They were like celebrities walking through our office. You needed to see their presence!"
"They’ve both got this air of elegance and confidence that is so captivating."
Even the employees who had not seen them in the morning were filled in by those who had the opportunity of doing so.
As Jason was no longer in charge at the Baltimore branch it was understandable that most of the docunts were piled on Kathleen’s table. Despite that, his day wasn’t any less busier.
His first assignnt for the day was to deal with the collaboration with Hudson Corporations which their father initiated before he left.
