Chapter 130: Finally Over
I did all I could to prepare for the exam, and it’s finally over!
"I thought I was going to die," Andy said as he rested his head on his desk. Examinations were finally over and I confidently answered everything so I’m free to enjoy.
"Let’s go to that ice cream parlor again," Andy said and I agreed.
"That’s why I told my guardian that I’m going ho late." I smiled. "Let’s go."
"Yay! Let’s go!"
Kaoru still accompanied us because he can’t ever let
go alone or else he’ll get scolded. That reminds , El really doesn’t reply to ssages. I sent him a belated happy birthday greeting since I learned that his birthday was on the 1st of February.
How did I learn of it? When I opened the ssaging app, it said that it was his birthday that day. Even though I was too late already, I still wanted to greet him. Maybe that’s why he asked
on a date in the aquarium, to celebrate his birthday.
"Ellie? What do you want to eat?"
"The usual."
"Oh?" I turned around and saw Ryzen. "It’s you guys." He said while pointing at , and that’s why I heard Andy clicking his tongue behind .
’Does he really hate Ryzen that much?’
Despite the annoyance Andy showed, Ryzen wasn’t fazed at all. "Do you guys want to eat together? I’m with Maris and Carla." He said.
"Noelle!" I felt soone pulling
into a hug after hearing them call my na. "Did you do great in the exams? I didn’t want to disturb you that’s why I’ve been trying to control myself not to talk to you." Carla said while still having
in her embrace.
"You’re bothering her now," Maris said as she pulled Carla away from . "I’m sorry for that, this girl’s been wanting to talk to you since after the school festival." I giggled after hearing that.
"You can talk to
anyti though," I said as I smiled at Carla. "We’re friends right?"
Carla suddenly grabbed her chest and crouched. "W-What happened to you?" It was too sudden that I thought she was having heart problems. "Are you alright?"
"Noelle’s too cute that it’s bad for my heart."
Carla received a bonk from Maris because of what she did. "Don’t scare us like that, you drama queen," Maris said but Carla didn’t listen to her, making Maris shake her head. "Just ignore her. Let’s go sit sowhere."
All of us sat on the biggest table there in this ice cream parlor. "Do you guys already have a school choice for college?" Ryzen asked as he placed the ice creams on the table. He said that it’ll be his treat so we didn’t bother rejecting his offer.
"I don’t know. Westside University?" Ace said as she ate her chocolate and vanilla ice cream. "What about you, Ryzen? Didn’t you receive letters from schools abroad?"
Ryzen nodded. "I did. Although I still haven’t decided. What about Noelle? Are you going to Westside University too?"
"I think so? Since I don’t need to take examinations if that’s where I’ll go."
It’s part of our school’s properties after all. If you graduated from Westside High School, you’ll only need to show your grades when you enroll at Westside University and it’ll be easier if your course isn’t in the dical field or law.
"I heard that Night will go to Westside University," Carla said.
’Right, she didn’t know that I was trying to move on from my feelings for Night.’ I thought.
"Don’t you think you’re ant to be?" How co she’s not thinking that I’m probably chasing after Night again this ti?
Even though I think Carla wants to talk about Night, she didn’t, instead, she started talking about random stuff and I didn’t expect Ace to relate to it.
"What about Kaoru? Do you have soone you like?" Carla asked out of the blue. She was just talking about crushes and then she noticed that Kaoru was being awfully quiet.
’Although he’s usually quiet when we’re with other people.’
"Nope."
That’s surprising, even the others were surprised. "Don’t you have crushes before?" Carla asked as if her curiosity was triggered by the way Kaoru nonchalantly answered her question.
"None."
"Then what about flings?"
Kaoru’s forehead creased. "What are flings?"
I looked at Ace after she dropped her spoon all of a sudden. "That’s surprising. I didn’t expect Kaoru to be such an innocent boy." Ace said as she stood up from her seat. "I’ll get another spoon." She went to the counter after that.
"Is there anyone you’re interested in?"
I saw how Maris nudged Carla’s arm. "Stop digging deeper into soone else’s life."
"But don’t you guys feel curious about Kaoru too? He’s always following Noelle around so sotis I think that they’re childhood friends where Kaoru has feelings for Noelle but Noelle’s obsessed with Night instead."
Andy laughed after hearing that. "How could that happen when I’m Ellie’s childhood friend?" He said. "And Kaoru’s more like a puppy than a love interest." I looked at Kaoru to see what his reaction will be but he doesn’t look like he was affected.
’Andy might have said that without an intentions, but it doesn’t sound good at all.’ I thought.
"Then what’s your type, Kaoru?"
Kaoru tilted his head. "Type?"
"Yeah. What kind of girls do you like? The adorable ones, or the cool and straightforward like Maris and Ace?" Carla asked with her twinkling eyes.
"Why do you have to involve
with this?" Maris sighed.
I just smiled while eating my ice cream. It seems like Carla’s interest in Kaoru’s love life won’t subside soon.
"Are you free this Sunday?" Ryzen whispered to
as he sat beside
while Andy went to the restroom.
"I guess? I don’t have anything to do anyway."
"Then, can you go to the art museum? Since next week will be holidays." He said which I didn’t understand. What’s the connection between those two? "I’ll be waiting for you there. And don’t forget." Ryzen pointed to my ring finger and he stood up from his seat after.
I think he really wants
to et that friend of his. ’But should I really bring the ring?’ Despite my head being full of thoughts, I was still able to enjoy the day with my friends, it took us too long to go ho and now I think I might get scolded.
"Welco ho, young miss!" Rika greeted
as soon as I entered the mansion. My forehead creased as I noticed that the mansion feels emptier than usual.
"Where’s everybody?"
Rika took my bag from . "They went to the airport to accommodate the oyabun. He’ll be flying back to Japan for a eting with the executives." She said as she opened the door inside the mansion.
"What about Shiho and the others?"
"Lady Tomoe’s about to arrive that’s why they wanted to wait for her in the airport." Oh, that explains why I can’t hear Makoto’s loud voice right now?
"And Night? Where is he?"
We arrived in front of my room and we entered inside. "The young master’s resting in the second building." So he’s staying in our room instead of his room? What could he be doing there? Sleeping?
’Must be because it’s more peaceful there since there aren’t many people allowed except for the two of us and Night’s relatives.’
"Did he say anything about not letting anyone go to the 2nd building?"
Rika shook her head. "The young master didn’t look like he was in a bad mood, but he just looks tired." Then I should probably not disturb him when he’s tired. "Okay, I’ll check up on him later."
"Oh, I inford the young master that the miss will be coming ho late so I don’t think he’s expecting you right now."
"Thanks for that information." I smiled as I lay on the bed. Now that the examinations are over, I could finally organize my thoughts. But... ’How will I tell Night that I am still in love with him and I want to beco his girlfriend?’
It’s weird to just suddenly spout it out like nothing happened even though I went and created so rules between us because I told him that I hate his guts.
I grunted as I get up from the bed. "There’s no point thinking about it like this." I went to my closet and changed clothes. All I need to do is face this head-on just like what Ace said. I’ll ask Night if he’s still serious about what he said last ti, then I’ll confess to him.
I walked in the hallway towards the 2nd building with my heart thumping louder the closer I get to our room.
’I should face everything head-on.’ I keep telling myself as I took a deep breath and knocked on the door. It was weird when no one answered.
’Did he go out?’
I tried to open the door and I thought it was locked the first ti so I didn’t try opening it anymore, but then, when I was about to leave, it suddenly opened.
The lock’s useless now that it’s broken. ’It’s clearly not my fault, okay.’ I thought as I went inside. Since this room belongs to
too, I can enter freely, right?
When I got inside, there was no one there. "Where did he go?" When I was about to go and lay on the bed, I heard a sound coming from the bathroom. ’Is he taking a bath?’
I noticed that the door wasn’t closed properly so I went and walked towards the bathroom. D-Don’t misunderstand! I’m only doing this to protect Night’s privacy.
When I reached the door’s handle, I heard a weird sound coming inside making
feel curious.
"Ah."
I flinched after hearing Night groan. ’What is he doing inside?’ When I placed my hand on the doorknob and tried to pull it slowly, I heard him groan again while saying sothing.
"Noelle."
