Chapter 839: Fascinating Town of Flowers
In the blink of an eye, three days had passed.
This day was the eve of the Fallarbor Town Pokémon Contest—the Fallarbor Contest.
At the sa ti, it was also very close to the opening ceremony of the Scenic Area that Terrance had scheduled.
Caroline, the wife of Petalburg Gym Leader Norman, had heard about Fallarbor Town’s Scenic Area and specifically brought her daughter May and son Max to visit.
This cheerful, brown-haired beauty had a very straightforward personality. After arriving in Fallarbor Town with her two children, she imdiately began to admire the sights with unrestrained enthusiasm.
"So beautiful~"
Beneath the dazzling golden sea of flowers lay their green leaves and stems.
The first scenery outsiders saw upon entering Fallarbor Town was a sea of flowers, a grand avenue ford by "Golden Pinwheels."
Golden Pinwheels were a type of flower with golden-yellow blossoms shaped like pinwheels. Their defining characteristic was that they were suitable for dense planting; when combined, they resembled a shimring golden ocean.
Moreover, these flowers were known for their strong adaptability and long lifespan. With their faint fragrance, Golden Pinwheels were the most suitable flowers for decorating roads like this.
"May, Max, do you think these flowers are pretty?" Holding both children’s hands, Caroline smiled softly. Especially when she saw flocks of Beautifly fluttering through the sea of flowers, her smile grew even gentler.
"They’re pretty! Mom, didn’t you and Dad first et in a Beautifly-filled flower field?" May raised her head and asked as she recalled the story.
"Yes, that’s right. So this place can’t help but remind
of the scene when I first t your father," Caroline said with a smile.
"I heard online that flowers are planted in other parts of Fallarbor Town too. I wonder what the other flowers are like," Max said.
Max’s words also piqued the curiosity of May and Caroline. After the two nodded, they decided to go take a look elsewhere. Just then, a laugh rang out, followed by a voice that reached the ears of the three of them: "How about letting
be your guide?"
Terrance walked up to them with a smile and said, "Aunt Caroline, May, Max, long ti no see."
Terrance had lived at the Petalburg Gym for a period of ti, but that was four years ago... so he wasn’t sure whether the three of them still rembered him.
But now that he was so famous, they probably wouldn’t forget him, right? Terrance worried to himself; after all, being forgotten would be embarrassing.
"It’s Terrance!" Max said happily upon seeing him. To Terrance, those words sounded like heavenly music. He had recognized the child’s exceptional talent early on and was glad to see he hadn’t been wrong.
"So it’s Terrance." Caroline also smiled. As Mr. Norman’s wife, she naturally paid attention to major events in Hoenn, and many of those events involved Terrance. Among the interesting stories about Hoenn that she heard from Norman, Terrance appeared even more often.
In addition, since Terrance had lived at the Petalburg Gym, Caroline clearly rembered this Coordinator who traveled with Beautifly.
What she hadn’t expected was that the rookie Coordinator from back then had already beco so outstanding.
"He actually matches our May quite well..." As she continued to size him up, Caroline began to harbor so mischievous thoughts.
At the sa ti, May also recognized Terrance, and joy imdiately appeared on her face. It was precisely because Terrance had participated in that Petalburg Contest that May first ca into contact with Pokémon Contests. She had even watched Terrance’s Grand Festival, witnessing his rise to the top. Compared to the original storyline, May had found her passion earlier because of Terrance, i.e., the path of a Coordinator.
Compared to being a Trainer, May, who had long been accustod to watching her father’s Gym battles, preferred coordination and Pokémon Contests. Therefore, May felt deep admiration toward Terrance, this Coordinator who displayed exceptional brilliance at the joint Trainer and Coordinator Super Festival.
Four years of ti had already blurred May’s mories of Terrance. Although they had communicated before, he still felt sowhat unfamiliar. Even so, this did not diminish Terrance’s idol status in May’s heart.
As a result, when standing before Terrance, May beca so nervous that she could not speak at all.
At this mont, Caroline, who had been lost in complex thoughts, also ca back to her senses and imdiately responded to Terrance’s suggestion: "Then we’ll have to trouble you. Please show us around Fallarbor Town."
Having the Gym Leader of Fallarbor Gym guide them; this was the highest level of treatnt.
"Please," Terrance said.
Within the sea of Golden Pinwheel flowers, Beautifly and Dustox darted from one flower to another, from one patch of flowers to the next. They were extrely agile, leaping and dancing over the golden sea of flowers, making the flowers themselves seem even more full of life.
After experiencing the first breathtaking scene of Fallarbor Town’s flower fields, Terrance led the three further inside.
"This is the Heart of Fragrance," Terrance pointed ahead. At this mont, Caroline, May, and Max were already completely imrsed, seemingly not even hearing Terrance’s words clearly.
The Heart of Fragrance was an extrely expensive flower with very high cultivation costs. Its defining trait could be sumd up in a single word: fragrance.
It was a material required for all kinds of perfus, and when high concentrations of its aroma gathered together, it could also produce a calming, mind-soothing effect on both humans and Pokémon. Of course, this effect was limited to the first one or two tis one slled it. Over ti, no matter how pleasant a scent was, people would gradually develop resistance to it.
"My mood has suddenly beco even more pleasant," Caroline said with a gentle smile as she tightened her hold on the two children. This trip really hadn’t been in vain.
The layout of the Heart of Fragrance was very deliberate. First-ti visitors to Fallarbor Town would be strongly enveloped by its aroma, but gradually, the number of Heart of Fragrance flowers decreased and the scent beca lighter. Even so, this alluring fragrance lingered for a long ti, allowing people to maintain a good mood throughout.
Replacing the Heart of Fragrance, what ca next was a visual impact!
Reaching this point also ant they had entered Fallarbor Town proper.
Within Fallarbor Town, there were countless flower fields, and every household grew flowers. These flowers were dicinal ingredients, perfu components, and precious food ingredients, possessing a variety of uses and also being very suitable for widespread cultivation and viewing.
After entering Fallarbor Town, the three were imdiately captivated by the fragrant sea of flowers. The multicolored blossoms blood brilliantly and enchantingly, like countless youthful maidens full of vitality, dressed in colorful skirts, standing gracefully in the sea of flowers and dancing lightly within the endless expanse.
"So that’s how it is. The movent of the flowers isn’t caused by a natural breeze... but by the wind stirred up by Beautifly when they fly." Seeing the rhythmically undulating sea of flowers, Caroline imdiately noticed the pattern of the flowers’ movent. She covered her mouth in surprise and looked up at the sky.
Beautifly’s flight rhythm coordinated with the swaying of the sea of flowers—what an ingenious design. Could it be that these Beautifly weren’t wild?
"These flowers... I’ve seen many of them before, but why do the flowers here make
feel like I’m being drawn into them...?" Max asked in confusion.
"That’s no problem. You can pick one and observe it carefully. If you can discover the secret within, I’ll give you a small reward," Terrance said with a smile. Although the flowers in Fallarbor Town couldn’t be picked at will, acquaintances always had their privileges.
However, at Max’s age, he probably wouldn’t be able to notice the traces of Cutiefly.
It was because of Cutiefly that the flower fields within Fallarbor Town looked like flowing flas, like the sky, like a field of stars, like the rosy dawn... One could say that their existence bestowed even more moving colors upon the Flower Field Scenic Area of Fallarbor Town.
Cutiefly’s care was one of the key factors that allowed the Flower Field Scenic Area built by Terrance to successfully attract people!
