Chapter 648: The Disaster of Hoenn, Alain and Ash
While Terrance and Akon were travelling around, Terrance also studied the pharmacology behind the food recipe for Arcanine that Bruce had given him.
Both he and Akon were Breeders, but even so, it still took them 10 days to work out the pharmacology of the food recipe. It has to be said, there really were many intricacies in the giant form breeding thod.
Terrance also knew that the food recipe was actually a secondary factor. The key was still the components of the nutritional potions provided, but without specialized instrunts, they were very difficult to analyze, and neither Terrance nor Akon had a good solution for that.
"This food recipe should be based on a combination of Pokémon’s egg groups and types."
After once again referencing the Altaria’s giant form breeding thod, Terrance ford a rough hypothesis.
"Forget it, let’s stop studying this and put it aside for now. We’ll figure it out properly after we get back.."
Akon nodded. That day, the two of them arrived at a Pokémon Center located within a forest.
Over the next two days, Terrance and Akon only found one Trainer who had mastered ga Evolution. The rest of the ti was spent with Castform battling random Trainers they encountered along the way, and the battles were almost completely one-sided.
They called it practice for Sunny Day, but...
Under Sunny Day condition, whether it was Fire-type Castform’s extrely high-temperature Flathrower or its near-instant Solar Beam, both made for a terrible battling experience for the Trainers they faced.
Even under its weakest Sandstorm weather, Castform could still unleash devastating attacks using Weather Ball, channeling the sandstorm’s power. Faced with such a technique that combined offense and defense, few Trainers could hold out for more than a few turns.
"Looks like I really have gotten too strong to find any good opponents..." Terrance leaned against a tree and let out a helpless sigh.
"Stop complaining. Like you’d actually find a challenge on the roadside. Those are all ordinary Trainers still chasing the League Conference!!" Akon said irritably.
"You can’t say it like that..." Terrance replied with a serious expression.
By this ti, Akon already knew about Terrance’s achievents, including his victory in a 3-on-3 battle against the forr Elite Four mber Leo.
It was precisely because of this that Akon found it exasperating that Terrance wouldn’t even spare ordinary Trainers.
He didn’t have any airs of an expert.
Still, the battles weren’t entirely fruitless. After all, Castform needed more practice with its two weaker weathers.
"Wait, take a look at this first."
Akon held up a newspaper, his expression suddenly turning serious.
"What’s wrong? Why the serious face?"
Terrance took the paper with surprise. After just a glance at the accompanying photo, his own expression turned solemn.
"Groudon and Kyogre appear in the sea near Hoenn’s Sootopolis City. Hoenn faces another massive crisis!!"
"Primal.....Reversion?!"
This shocking news sent a jolt through Terrance’s heart. And not only that, this ti even Rayquaza had shown up.
"Primal Reversion? That thing ntioned in ancient texts?"
"What is going on?"
"No idea. But apparently, Hoenn’s Champion Steven is also involved in this incident. The specific reason wasn’t reported, it may have already been suppressed."
Akon looked at the newspaper in Terrance’s hands and said, "Luckily, it didn’t result in any catastrophe."
"Yeah." Terrance nodded. After all, the matter had already passed. Now all they could feel was lingering fear. Worrying at this point wouldn’t be of any use.
"Steven was involved in this incident too..." Terrance’s eyes flickered as he considered whether this incident would also occur after his return.
Just as Terrance and Akon were still imrsed in the shock of all the Super-ancient Pokémon appearing in Hoenn, a shockwave suddenly rippled out from the distance.
"This power... could it be ga Evolution?!"
Sensing that imnse shockwave, Terrance snapped back to his senses, rembering the purpose of their trip.
From the Trainer who had previously mastered ga Evolution, Terrance had learned the whereabouts of another Trainer who also possessed the power of ga Evolution.
It was said that this Trainer was extrely powerful. His ga Charizard had defeated nurous Pokémon in their ga Evolution forms.
Alain.
That was the na of the powerful Trainer Terrance had heard about.
It seed this person was also seeking out other Trainers with ga Evolution power and constantly challenging them.
"Let’s go check it out."
Terrance called to Akon and took off running in the direction of the battlefield.
"Hey, wait for !" Akon hurriedly caught the newspaper Terrance tossed him and quickly caught up.
The two of them jogged all the way and soon arrived at the railing above the battlefield.
"This is..." Terrance stopped in his tracks. On the battlefield, a black Charizard and a Greninja shrouded in flowing water were locked in fierce combat!
Seeing Greninja’s appearance, both Terrance and Akon revealed astonished expressions.
"This form is..."
Then, Terrance looked down at the two Trainers battling below, and a strange emotion welled up inside him.
"Ash."
The Trainer of that special Greninja was actually Ash.
ga Charizard. Special Greninja. Both Pokémon were displaying incredibly powerful strength, but as the battle intensified, Terrance furrowed his brow. He noticed Greninja’s flaw.
"Still can’t handle this kind of power?"
Greninja gave Terrance the impression that it still couldn’t fully control that trendous strength. There was an ever-present sense of imbalance.
That feeling gradually beca Greninja’s fatal weakness, causing it to lose its rhythm. Sure enough, under the explosion of flas from ga Charizard—a strike so powerful it even slightly surprised Terrance—Greninja was blasted down and lost the ability to battle.
"That ga Charizard is exceptionally strong, its power is already close to Gallade and the others."
The Trainer of the ga Charizard was a young man with black hair. Terrance figured this person must be the Alain he had been looking for.
The man’s strength truly lived up to the rumors. Compared to other ga Evolution users they had encountered, he was definitely a tier or two stronger.
Even without having battled him yet, Terrance couldn’t guarantee he would win for sure.
Except with ga Altaria.
"Should we go down there?"
Akon asked Terrance.
The battle below had already ended.
"Let’s go. That Alain is pretty strong. His ga Charizard will be a great challenge. I hope he doesn’t disappoint ."
Terrance smiled slightly. Besides that, he also wanted to see how much Ash had grown during this ti. Even though only ten days or so had passed, Terrance could clearly see a change in Ash.
And that Greninja...
Just as Ash and Alain were shaking hands and introducing themselves, Terrance and Akon had already stepped down onto the field.
Clemont adjusted his glasses and was the first to notice Terrance, his mouth opening in surprise.
