Chapter 603: Double Sunny Day

Gengar was suddenly blasted away by the Energy Ball and was nearly thrown out of the stage. However, at the last mont, Gengar managed to use all its strength to barely stabilize itself in midair. This Energy Ball was the accumulation of all the energy of the Grassy Terrain, making it significantly more powerful than the regular Energy Ball. The fact that Gengar could withstand it without losing its ability to battle showed that Fantina had indeed put serious effort into its training.

Gengar glared at Roserade warily, not daring to make any reckless moves, as it waited for commands from its Coordinator.

At this point, many people who had originally been confident in Fantina, or rather, believed Fantina would win, began to show serious expressions.

This opponent Fantina was facing was no simple one. With every round, Fantina was being suppressed in terms of command battle. The opponent’s control of the battle situation was far beyond Fantina’s.

"Sigh."

Raoul Contesta let out a sigh. Across 17 events, Fujiki hadn’t participated in anything that could showcase her Pokémon’s battle strength. She had even lost to Fantina in one of the events... On top of that, one of the Pokémon Fujiki registered was a Feebas, so it was understandable why people were hopeful of Fantina winning.

But once the battle began, many people realized they had been mistaken.

Fujiki’s true strength might never have been fully shown before.

"Gengar, use an Look," Fantina quickly regained her composure. Gengar’s strength wasn’t inferior to Roserade’s... and the fire poison technique she had developed years ago had helped her defeat many opponents. Though Roserade was a Grass and Poison type, it would still be heavily suppressed when faced with the fire poison.

On the other hand, if it were Ninetales, the fire poison wouldn’t be as effective. Plus, Ninetales can also wield psychic powers, which could pose a threat to her Gengar. After weighing her options, Fantina decided to take them down one by one, starting with Roserade.

As soon as Roserade t Gengar’s gaze, it felt as though it was locked in place. It narrowed its eyes and responded with a fierce attack.

Having lost the opportunity to recall Roserade, Fujiki remained expressionless, or perhaps, she had never feared Fantina’s fire poison technique from the start.

Swinging its poison-laced flower whips, Roserade advanced step by step toward Gengar. Its attack style was like that of a dancer, and with every step Roserade took, the ground beneath blossod with verdant growth. Even while attacking, Roserade was continually expanding the Grassy Terrain.

"What a fierce assault." Many Trainers watching were surprised by Fujiki’s Roserade. Every one of its strikes grew stronger and faster thanks to the Grassy Terrain it had set up, creating a continuous, unrelenting offensive. With every step, a lotus blood.

Facing Roserade, Fantina’s Gengar certainly didn’t back down. Its levitating body suddenly dipped down, dark flas condensed around its fists, and it launched a counterattack.

Fire Punch.

"Inherited Move?" Terrance’s eyes flickered. Watching Fire Punch clash with Roserade’s attack, he was slightly stunned.

Gengar’s Fire Punch was laced with poison, and Roserade’s flowers were similarly infused with deadly poison. Both sides’ attack were incredibly dangerous. However, as the clash continued, beads of sweat began to form on Fantina’s forehead.

Though it looked like Gengar’s fire poison was gaining the upper hand, this Roserade displayed exceptional battle acun. Even without direct commands, it managed to evade most of Gengar’s attacks. Moreover, Roserade’s whip strikes were all aid at Gengar’s weak points with uncanny precision, inflicting significant damage in just a few monts.

Conversely, Gengar’s fire poison was completely redirected by the vines Roserade had produced, sent off in other directions.

At this rate, even if the two sides weren’t that far apart in other aspects, the sheer difference in battle experience was enough for Roserade to steadily gain the upper hand over Gengar.

"Roserade..." Fujiki called softly.

From the Grassy Terrain under Roserade’s feet, several seed-like fruits blossod instantly.

Seeing this, Gengar quickly floated higher into the air, not daring to stay too close to the ground.

"Is it Worry Seed or Seed Bomb?" As Roserade continued to generate seeds mid-battle, countless spectators began to speculate.

But regardless of which move it was, at this mont, Gengar dared not make a single careless move.

"In that kind of situation..." Fantina glanced at the battlefield. She had originally thought that even if the fire poison didn’t deal heavy damage to Roserade, it would have at least eroded the Grassy Terrain. But to her surprise, the grass energy on the ground remained abundant, as if maintaining the Grassy Terrain didn’t consu much from Roserade at all.

"Why..."

Fantina was confused. With such frequent use of powerful moves, even Gengar was already panting and had consud a lot of stamina, yet Roserade still looked completely at ease.

Among those present, only a handful of people watching the match noticed the clues.

Albus was one of them.

"It looks like Roserade was redirecting the fire poison into the Grassy Terrain, but what Fantina failed to see was that each ti, Roserade used Giga Drain to absorb back most of the energy." he said, shaking his head. The vines Roserade abandoned were, in fact, "waste" with very little vitality left. Through this cycle of reuse, Gengar was draining far more stamina than Roserade. That’s the reason Roserade was able to keep fighting.

"If this continues, even if Fujiki only has two Pokémon capable of battling, Fantina will be in serious trouble," Raoul Contesta said, his expression shifting.

In the next round, Roserade manipulated its vines to launch the seed-like projectiles toward Gengar. Gengar ford flas in both hands and was just about to counterattack when it suddenly received a command from Fantina. Seeing the seeds flying toward it, Gengar vanished into the shadows.

The seeds exploded instantly, and among them, two released countless hypnotic pollen upon detonation. The powerful shockwave, even as Gengar hid, still reached it and flung it out violently.

However, just before that happened, a black beam shot across the ground toward Roserade.

"Why didn’t she order Roserade to dodge?"

Many spectators had noticed Gengar’s final move before being hit, Destiny Bond. Fujiki had likely anticipated that Gengar would use this move at the last mont. Yet, Fujiki didn’t issue any order for Roserade to dodge, instead, Roserade just stood there, motionless.

"Roserade wasn’t just standing still, it was still controlling the seeds earlier. And afterward, it did act. Look up at the sky."

As the seeds exploded and Gengar was caught in the blast, waves of smoke billowed outward. When Gengar rapidly crashed back to the ground, Roserade also suffered the backlash of "Destiny Bond
