Returning back to Fallarbor Town.
Albus and Fujiki waited for Ayan to notify Terrance and bring back news. It didn’t take long before the surprised Ayan ca looking for them.
“Terrance will co back imdiately. Please be patient and wait for a while…”
“And also, you are welco to stay at Fallarbor Gym as our guests.”
Ayan didn’t know just how attractive the words “ga Evolution” were, but from Terrance’s reaction, it was clear that these two people were very important.
Not daring to delay for fear of ruining Terrance’s business, Ayan wasted no ti and quickly relayed the ssage to them.
“No problem, no problem. As long as he can make it back within the agreed three days, that’s fine.” Albus said with a grin. “By the way, what was that about? You said we’re welco to stay at Fallarbor Gym as guests?”
“Now that you ntion it… we really don’t have a place to stay for the ti being.”
Fujiki shot him a glare but didn’t stop Albus.
Without a Trainer identity, they couldn’t stay at the Pokémon Center. Compared to setting up a tent in the wild, having a place to stay at Fallarbor Gym would be much better.
“Leave it to . There are a few vacant rooms in the Gym. With a bit of tidying up, they’ll be ready for use,” Ayan said.
The two settled into Fallarbor Gym without hesitation, while Ayan had no idea what kind of people he was actually hosting.
anwhile, far away in the Alola region, Terrance was rushing back to Hoenn without pause.
“The environnt here isn’t bad. I wonder if they’ll provide us with als.”
Albus tilted his head back, deep in thought.
“I’m going out for a walk.”
Fujiki ignored him and walked out of Fallarbor Gym alone.
League Calendar, Year 217, Fujiki had lost track of how long she had been away from her hotown. But there was no one she cared about in Almia anymore, so perhaps this was fine.
Fallarbor Town had now developed considerably. Thanks to Mt. Chimney, Fallarbor Gym, and Pokémon Contests, many Trainers visited this place.
At present, Fallarbor Town exuded an atmosphere of prosperity, liveliness, and harmony.
Ever since leaving Team Nightmare, Fujiki had rarely had ti to truly experience the outside world. Instead, she had been constantly traveling for various matters.
Now, taking advantage of this rare opportunity, Fujiki wanted to take a good look around Fallarbor Town.
“Hey! Are you a Trainer? Want to have a battle?” A stranger suddenly called out to Fujiki.
Although Fujiki had endured the nightmarish and bloody trials of Nightmare Island, her temper wasn’t particularly bad—nor was it particularly good. Indifference had beco her primary way of dealing with things. On Nightmare Island, she had been luckier than most people, so she hadn’t developed any particularly nasty habits.
But even so, when faced with a challenge from so random nobody, she had no interest in responding. She turned her gaze toward the loudmouthed Trainer who had called out to her, imdiately giving him a cold, piercing look.
Whoa, what a frosty stare! The person who had called out to Fujiki froze, muttering to himself in his mind.
“Never mind… I just rembered I have sothing else to do, so no battle.”
“Boring.” Fujiki wasn’t in the mood for a battle right now.
She just wanted so quiet ti to herself.
If it were Albus, that battle fanatic, he might have been thrilled instead.
“This place seems to be an agricultural region.”
As she walked through Fallarbor Town, Fujiki gained a preliminary understanding of the town.
Out of curiosity, she headed toward Fallarbor Town’s farmlands. Along the way, she saw many residents busy working in the fields.
“Hey there! A visiting Trainer, huh? Welco, welco! Here, want to try an ice pear?”
An elderly woman spotted Fujiki and complinted her, saying, “What a pretty young lady.”
“Ice pear?” Fujiki looked blankly at the speckled fruit in the woman’s hand and shook her head. “Thank you.”
With that, she left the area.
“The people here seem really friendly.”
Fujiki muttered to herself as she started walking in another direction. However, she hadn’t gone far before she suddenly stopped in place, her gaze locking onto a woman across from her. ????????β????
That woman had also noticed her. She couldn’t contain her shocked expression, as if she had just seen sothing unbelievable.
“It’s you.”
After a long mont of daze, Kotoko finally cald herself down.
“Why are you here?”
“You are… one of the survivors of Nightmare Island.” Fujiki looked at her calmly and said, “What are you doing here?”
Kotoko’s expression shifted again and again before she finally said helplessly.
“Let’s talk sowhere else.”
…
…
Fallarbor Woods.
Fujiki followed behind Kotoko as they arrived here. She curiously looked around, finding the place quite interesting. Had soone developed this area?
Wooden stakes, rocks, and large craters—Fujiki imdiately recognized that this was a place for training Pokémon.
“Are you still training?” she asked.
“I’m used to it,” Kotoko was silent for a mont before replying. “But it’s just so basic physical and reaction training.”
“I have a question—Is he with you?”
“He?” Fujiki pondered for a mont and said, “You an Albus, right?”
“Yes! With your identities, why did you two show up here?! Aren’t you afraid of being discovered?” Kotoko asked angrily.
“Afraid of what?” At first, Fujiki didn’t understand, but when she realized what Kotoko ant, she burst into laughter: “Besides you survivors, no one else knows about us.”
“Unless you all sold us out.”
“Of course, that’s impossible!” Kotoko said firmly.
“Then there’s nothing to worry about,” Fujiki said indifferently.
“Alright, now can you tell
why you ca to Fallarbor Town?” Kotoko asked.
“This is your hotown, isn’t it? You seem nervous,” Fujiki observed.
Kotoko remained silent. She wanted to say that it was none of her business, but strictly speaking, these two had saved her life.
“Yes, this is my hotown. I just want to stay here and live a peaceful life. I don’t want to be involved with the matters of Team Nightmare anymore.”
“Don’t worry. We’re just passing through. In a few days, we’ll be gone, and we won’t cause you any trouble,” Fujiki reassured her.
“Thank you,” Kotoko said slowly.
“He’s not with you?”
“No, he’s probably catching up on sleep,” Fujiki said, tilting her head slightly in thought.
Catching up on sleep…
Kotoko’s mouth twitched slightly.
“Is there a restaurant in Fallarbor Town?” Fujiki suddenly thought of sothing important and asked Kotoko.
“A few families run businesses like that. I’ll take you there,” Kotoko exhaled and said.
“Then I’ll have to trouble you. But before that, we need to go and wake up Albus.”
Albus…
Kotoko’s expression turned complicated at the ntion of that na. The best among the 300 experint subjects of Nightmare Island, the terrifying individual who single-handedly destroyed Team Nightmare; she still had no idea what kind of monster he is.
