Chapter 19: Chapter 19: Aspiring to be Strong

Late at night, a back alley, and a burly man.

These words combined already give a vaguely gay impression, but Jack only feels an overwhelming sense of panic.

After returning from the Dungeon, his imdiate thought was to flee, but instead, he ran into an acquaintance of Sekman, who noticed sothing was off and then...

That brings us to the current situation.

"Where are the others?" The heavily built Sekman alone brought an imnse sense of oppression.

Everyone here was cunning; so things didn't need to be spelled out, a glance at one's expression told it all.

And from Jack's face, he read fear and evasion, indicating that those who had entered the Dungeon with him likely t with grim fates.

"Boss, I was just about to co report to you..." Jack said, steeling his nerve, "I had just resurrected and was terrified by the monsters in the Dungeon, my mory is a bit confused now, so—"

"Bullshit, I checked the records of the Resurrection House, you didn't die,"

Sekman snorted dismissively, "What exactly are you trying to hide from ? Where are the others!"

"Where have they gone!" The other burly n shouted in unison, causing Jack to tremble uncontrollably.

"Dead, dead..."

"Nonsense, I figured they died in the Dungeon, but what about now? Where are they after their resurrection?"

Jack hesitated and finally said, "They have always been in the Dungeon..."

"Huh? To go back in after resurrection isn't like them at all... wait, you an—"

Sekman suddenly realized.

"They didn't resurrect!?"

Jack nodded difficultly.

A pair of large hands violently grabbed his throat, lifting him up like picking up a chicken, his vision filled with the furious Sekman!

"Speak, tell everything you know!"

Sekman really wanted to just strangle Jack.

It was this old man who took the initiative to lead others to explore the Dungeon, swearing that he would bring back great rewards, but what happened now?

Everyone's dead, and this old thing still has the face to live!?

And he didn't believe it, didn't believe that those people would die. Exploring the Dungeon required carrying enough Teleportation Crystals, a rigid rule all adventurers followed; no one would intentionally leave them behind, especially not his companions who all cherished their lives dearly!

"I-I-I-I—" Jack stamred in fright.

"Are you motherfucking chickening out!" Sekman slapped Jack hard, knocking out his front teeth.

He handed Jack over to another burly man, saying, "You interrogate him, I want the answers fast,"

"Hehe, I love interrogations," the burly man grinned idiotically, a smile that appeared more horrific than a billion killers to Jack.

Jack wanted to speak, but, but—

The Stone Statue Ghosts in the Dungeon had suddenly gained intelligence, stealing their Teleportation Crystals before killing them—who would believe such a thing!

Furthermore, Jack had participated in the killing, and ultimately beca a slave to the monsters. If he revealed this, he might be executed the next second for colluding with the monsters.

Jack's teeth clattered incessantly; how he wished soone would co to rescue him now, even if it was—

Suddenly, the image of the Stone Statue Ghost (played by Gong Qiying) flashed through his mind.

If I had that kind of power, I wouldn't have to be threatened by scum like Sekman, no longer live by reading others' expressions, no longer need to sweet-talk or deceive others.

Damn it, I also want to beco powerful.

Damn it.

"Stop,"

A cold voice ca from the mouth of the alley, Sekman turned his head impatiently and muttered, "Why are people ddling at this late hour, asking for trouble,"

Not knowing what to expect, he was startled once he saw the newcor's appearance, and Sekman was instantly stunned.

He had never seen such a beautiful young girl.

Look at those bright, jewel-like blue eyes, her silky black hair fluttering in the wind, perfectly matched with her black and red travel outfit, making one want to praise her aesthetic.

But there was one thing that disrupted the overall beauty, the sword she carried on her back.

To call it a sword seed an understatent; it was huge, heavy, thick, and quite rough, essentially a chunk of iron. It was hard to imagine how the girl with her slender arms could swing it, as the greatsword was even taller and bigger than her.

Sekman thought to himself that being hit by that greatsword would cause serious injury, if the girl wasn't just bluffing...

"That's a tough cookie,"

He clicked his tongue and said, "Don't ddle, this person has caused several of our brothers to go missing, we need to find out where they are,"

Lastly, he added, "We have permission from the guards, what about you, it's curfew now, you wouldn't want

to report you to the guards, right?"

Nobody wants trouble with the guards, Sekman was confident he could scare the girl away.

"Oh? You got the guards' permission? I didn't know about that," another silvery figure appeared "Could it be that the re guards dare to deceive ? Impossible, you must be lying,"

Sekman just glanced at who ca and was already too frightened to speak.

"Sali, sali, Sali!"

The newcor was none other than the third young master of the Bed Family, Sali!

Why is he here?

"Friend, could you do

a favor?" Sali said to the girl next to him, "Please help

catch these criminals, I'll treat you to a big al afterwards,"

"Okay,"

The girl drew her greatsword with one swift motion, stirring the air with each movent; the clanging of the iron-like blade hitting the ground sounded like the Death God tolling a death knell.

"Are you going to kill them, friend?" Sali said helplessly, "It wouldn't sound good if word got out that a Hero is killing people,"

"Oh,"

The girl swiftly planted the greatsword into the stone pavent, and positioned herself in a combat stance, empty-handed.

Cold sweat stread down Sekman's forehead, he waved his hands repeatedly, saying, "Misunderstanding, all a misunderstanding, we were just—"

"Save your breath,"

Before he knew it, the girl had already moved in front of him, casually throwing an uppercut.

Sekman's consciousness blacked out at that mont.

"Amazing..."

Jack knelt to one side, his eyes wide open, watching this one-sided domination.

The girl easily dealt with Sekman and his group like she was cleaning up trash. Sali whistled playfully and said, "I'll call the guards later to clean up, let's go, ti for a big al,"

"Okay,"

Still showing little emotion, the girl casually picked up her greatsword and followed Sali.

The two of them never looked at him again.

"Clang,"

A Potion bottle rolled to Jack's feet, Sali gestured to him and disappeared around the corner with the girl.

"I've t a noble person,"

Jack stared at the Potion, and after a long mont, he finally realized.

"Do I not need to run anymore?"
