Chapter 68: Chapter 67 Utterly Tangled
At that mont, Luo Yazhi ca to her senses, and the air between them grew particularly awkward.
"Um, I—" Ye Fan began to speak.
"Get the hell away from ! Get as far away as you possibly can!" she snarled. "Let’s just pretend last night was an accident and that nothing ever happened between us!"
Ye Fan was helpless. He had never expected Luo Yazhi to have such a fiery temper, especially since she had always presented herself in such a seductive manner. He knew he shouldn’t say another word, so he straightened his clothes and quickly left the room.
Luo Yazhi was left alone. She lifted the covers, and upon seeing the scene beneath them, she began to cry. The Charming Fox Demoness was crying, a sight no one could have ever predicted.
Just then, her phone rang. Luo Yazhi weakly took it out and answered.
A hoarse voice spoke from the other end. "I am very disappointed in you. I gave you half a month, yet you still haven’t killed the King of Heaven. If you were just willing to use your body to lure him in, killing him would be no problem at all!
"But from the looks of it, you’re incapable of killing him. Very well. I will co myself tomorrow. If the King of Heaven doesn’t die, my plan cannot proceed!"
With that, the person on the other end hung up. Luo Yazhi, who had been heartbroken just a mont before, suddenly felt a wave of panic. She knew just how terrifying the other party was.
At that mont, her mind was filled with anxiety—not for the other party, nor for herself, but for the King of Heaven, Ye Fan.
She didn’t know what to do. If she told Ye Fan about this, she would die; if she didn’t, he would die. On one hand was the sister who had been by her side since childhood; on the other, the man she loved. This was undoubtedly an agonizing choice, and she still didn’t know whom she should support.
Ye Fan arrived at the villa only to find that Su Qingxue wasn’t there. He tried calling her, but to his surprise, her phone was off. Ye Fan was truly at a loss.
He realized that Su Qingxue must have witnessed last night’s events; otherwise, she wouldn’t be avoiding him. Yet, from beginning to end, Ye Fan considered himself a victim, an innocent one at that. Now, the tables had turned. He, the victim, now seed like the perpetrator, while Su Qingxue had beco the victim, and he was completely helpless.
If she wasn’t at the villa, she must have gone to work. Ye Fan rushed to the company, only to be told by an executive that Mr. Su had taken the day off.
Ye Fan was worried about Su Qingxue, afraid she might do sothing foolish. He had no idea where she could be. With that thought, he contacted Heavenly King Hall’s Sky Eye and used it to pinpoint Su Qingxue’s location via satellite.
Not long after, the Heavenly Eye sent Ye Fan the coordinates. He quickly checked and discovered that Su Qingxue had gone to the Jiangning Orphanage. So, he hurriedly took a taxi there.
Upon arriving at the entrance, he saw Su Qingxue in the courtyard playing with a group of children. Seeing this, Ye Fan finally breathed a sigh of relief. He sat down in a concealed spot not far away and watched her. The usually aloof Su Qingxue actually had such a childlike side to her. This truly surprised him. It seems I’m the only one privileged enough to see her like this.
Just then, a woman in her fifties approached him. Ye Fan quickly greeted her. The woman smiled and said, "Hello, I’m the director of this orphanage!"
"Hello, I’m her friend," Ye Fan said, pointing at Su Qingxue.
"Miss Su is our orphanage’s number one philanthropist," the director said. "She donates tens of millions to us every year. She ca again today, so I assu you’re the one who made her angry."
Ye Fan was speechless. He looked at the director in shock. How could she know? That’s incredible!
The director continued, "I can tell she’s very upset, but she doesn’t show it when she’s with the children. She tries to hide it, but I can still see it. She’s a very strong-willed woman. When sothing troubles her, she tends to keep it to herself rather than sharing her pain with others."
Ye Fan felt awkward because the director was right. Su Qingxue was indeed angry. No, to be more precise, she was heartbroken.
"Miss Su is a good person with a big heart. You should cherish her," the director told him.
At this point, I’d be lucky if she doesn’t just buy a bottle of pesticide and poison
with it.
They chatted for a while longer before the director went off to attend to her duties. Soon after, Su Qingxue walked over.
Ye Fan smiled. "My dear wife!"
"Scram!" Su Qingxue cursed at him, not even giving him a pleasant look. There was nothing for it. Even though it didn’t seem to be his fault, he had to take the bla no matter what.
So, he smiled again. "My dear wife, don’t be angry."
"Who’s your wife? Do you want
to sue you for slander?!" she shot back.
At this mont, Ye Fan knew it was ti to put his thick skin to the test. He followed her, trying to get on her good side and taking his shalessness to a whole new level. Su Qingxue really couldn’t stand him.
She got into her car, and Ye Fan followed her in, but she just yelled, "Don’t get in my car! Get out!"
Ye Fan was quite embarrassed, but he had to see this through. He said resignedly, "My dear wife, I didn’t know you put sothing in the wine! If I had known, I definitely would have stopped her from drinking it!"
"You’re still talking about it? I feel like I did sothing incredibly stupid!" Su Qingxue snapped.
Curiously, Ye Fan asked, "What stupid thing?"
"Let
ask you, was there nothing going on between you two before this?" Su Qingxue demanded.
Ye Fan replied miserably, "Nothing at all! Yesterday was just a coincidence. I didn’t know what was happening. My dear wife, please, just forgive
this once, okay?"
Probably only soone as shaless as Ye Fan could pull off a grown man whining like that.
Su Qingxue said disdainfully, "Forgive you? I saw you with my own two eyes, doing *that* with another woman. How do you expect
to forgive you?!"
"Hmph!" The more Su Qingxue thought about it, the angrier she beca. Even though she knew she was two-thirds to bla for the incident, she still felt like the victim. It would be impossible for her to forgive him so easily.
At that, Ye Fan said, "My dear wife, please give
a chance! I’m an innocent party in all this, too!" After all, from start to finish, he had been an innocent party. At a ti like this, of course he had to be a little more shaless.
Su Qingxue retorted, "Hmph! I’ll settle this score with you another day!"
After they returned ho, Ye Fan tried everything to appease her, even cooking gourt food, but this ti, nothing could win her over. Su Qingxue was furious—so angry that it seed their relationship was almost beyond repair.
But upon reflection, she realized it really was her fault. At that mont, all she felt was guilt—not for Ye Fan, but for her good friend, Luo Yazhi. Ye Fan’s probably ecstatic about this whole thing, but how am I supposed to explain this to Luo Yazhi, who has always been like a sister to ?
She agonized over it for a long ti before finally making the call, but Luo Yazhi’s phone was off. A wave of fear washed over Su Qingxue. She was afraid of losing her dear friend.
For that reason, she decided to go to Luo Yazhi’s place to apologize in person.
She drove to Luo Yazhi’s apartnt, but when she stood before the door, ready to knock, her courage failed her. She was the one in the wrong.
Just then, the door opened, but it wasn’t Luo Yazhi who erged. Instead, it was a breathtakingly beautiful Western woman with blonde hair, blue eyes, and a stunning figure.
She was even more perfect than Luo Yazhi. Utterly perfect, especially with her noble Western bloodline. She was undeniably, incredibly beautiful.
If Su Qingxue was the epito of Eastern beauty, then this woman was the personification of Western beauty.
