Chapter 449: Chapter 448: The Power of the Divine Talisman
Seeing Nangong struggling to resist, Ye Fan said, "I’m just glad you’re alive!"
"Leader, retreat, quickly!" Nangong urged.
"Alright!" Ye Fan rose to his feet, but instead of retreating, he swung his sword down, severing the fiery blade in the Divine Pet’s hand. With that, Nangong was freed, though he was severely weakened. Before the Divine Pet could stomp down, Ye Fan flung him aside, saving his life.
The Divine Pet was sent flying by Ye Fan’s Nine Yang Power. In that critical mont, Ye Fan had swallowed a pill to enhance his strength. He managed to recover so power, but it was rapidly depleting. Without any way to replenish it, Ye Fan knew he couldn’t hold out much longer.
"Does it have any weaknesses?" Ye Fan asked Nangong.
Weakly, Nangong replied, "Leader, it has no weaknesses, unless you use a Divine Talisman!"
"A Divine Talisman?" Ye Fan’s heart sank. The so-called Divine Talisman is just a myth. I can’t find one, and even if one existed, the Divine Race would have taken it long ago. There’s no way I could get my hands on it.
With no other choice, Ye Fan decided to lure the Divine Pet away. "Just run for your life!" he shouted to Nangong.
However, Nangong was not the type to flee and save his own skin. Instead of rushing to help, Nangong began to recall everything he knew, his mind racing. Only a Divine Talisman could defeat the Divine Pet, and he desperately searched his mory for any clue about where one might exist.
Then, his gaze shifted to another location. It was the forr Holy Land of the Feather Immortal Sect, a place so sacred that even the Sect Master was forbidden to enter. Only the Supre Elders of previous generations were qualified to reside there.
"Leader, lure it to the Cloud Mist Tower!"
Ye Fan glanced at Nangong, then turned toward the direction he had indicated—the highest peak of the Feather Immortal Sect. Despite the surrounding scorched earth, a hint of vitality remained there. Ye Fan knew sothing was unusual about that place.
BANG!
Just as he was processing this, the Divine Pet smashed down from above with a punch. Ye Fan spat out a mouthful of blood; he had lost count of how many tis he had been wounded. But ti was running out, leaving him no choice but to fly swiftly toward the Cloud Mist Tower.
The Divine Pet pursued him relentlessly. With every punch it threw, an entire mountain exploded; its power was incomparable. Even Ye Fan, now a Saint, was hopelessly outmatched.
He finally reached the Cloud Mist Tower, but there was nothing remarkable about it—at least, nothing he could sense. In the blink of an eye, the Divine Pet was upon him. It roared as its fist smashed down. Seeing the giant fist descend, Ye Fan knew he couldn’t escape his fate. He dodged frantically as the Divine Pet’s punch shattered the Cloud Mist Tower.
At that mont, the Cloud Mist Tower transford. As the structure shattered, it began to glow, and rings of light erupted from the rubble, binding the Divine Pet. The creature used all its strength to break free, but to no avail. The rings of light began to expand, ultimately enveloping it completely. Seeing the dazzling rings, Ye Fan let out a sigh of relief. He had never expected a miracle to occur at such a crucial mont.
As the rings expanded, the Divine Pet howled in pain. It struggled fiercely, causing the surrounding mountains to crumble, but it could not break free. As the rings of light fiercely absorbed its power, the temperature of the Divine Pet’s body began to drop. Ye Fan and Nangong watched with delight, realizing the rings were siphoning away the creature’s energy.
The Divine Pet’s struggles grew more frantic. With every drop in temperature, its power diminished. Finally, not a trace of warmth remained as its life faded away. Ye Fan stepped forward and cleaved down with his sword. The creature’s body, now like scorched earth, shattered into pieces.
With the Divine Pet shattered, both Ye Fan and Nangong knew it was over. The invincibly powerful creature had finally fallen.
Ye Fan walked over to where the rings of light had originated and found a round, glowing Crystal Stone the size of a fist. As Ye Fan held it, he felt energy emanating from it, nding his body. He was severely wounded, but under its restorative power, his injuries miraculously began to heal.
"Leader!" Nangong called out as he approached.
Ye Fan turned to him. "This Crystal Stone must be a relic of your Feather Immortal Sect. Even though the sect is gone, you are still one of its people. So, it should be returned to its rightful owner." With that, Ye Fan offered the Crystal Stone to Nangong.
This unique Crystal Stone was none other than the legendary Divine Talisman. Though its allure was imnse, Ye Fan was not swayed in the slightest—a comndable trait. Perhaps this was simply the kind of man he was, able to restrain the greedy temptation in his heart for anything that didn’t belong to him, no matter how enticing.
But Nangong pushed it back. "Leader, you deserve this. Since the Divine Talisman has chosen you, you are its new master!" he said, refusing the offer.
As it turned out, Nangong was the sa kind of man. He firmly believed in a principle: he would never take what was not his.
Seeing that the Divine Talisman couldn’t be split between them, Ye Fan said, "Alright. Since you don’t want it, I’ll hold onto it for you. If you ever want it, just ask, and I’ll give it back imdiately."
"That day will never co. It belongs to you, Leader," Nangong stated firmly. Ye Fan was willing to give
even the Heavenly Inquiry Sword, and this Divine Talisman is likely even more valuable. But without him, I would already be dead at the hands of the Divine Pet. In other words, the Divine Talisman has nothing to do with , so how could I even consider taking it? With this thought, he flatly refused the Divine Talisman, resolved to never ask for it in the future.
Ye Fan looked at Nangong with satisfaction, pleased that he hadn’t misjudged him. In fact, I’ve never been wrong about any of my brothers from the Heavenly King Hall.
Ye Fan then carefully examined the Divine Talisman. It appeared to be a Divine Artifact that contained a terrifying amount of energy. However, with his current level of knowledge, he couldn’t yet discern its true nature. Sothing the Divine Race is so eager to obtain must be a priceless treasure, he thought. He put the Divine Talisman away, thinking it might prove useful against the Divine Race in the future.
Afterward, he and Nangong left the ruins. The once-mighty Zhiyu Immortal Sect was now desolate. It was a poignant reminder of the passage of ti; in the blink of an eye, vast seas had beco mulberry fields.
On the road back to the Divine Land, Ye Fan looked forward to a few carefree days. He imagined going for a walk with Su Qingxue, perhaps even starting on their "baby-making plan."
However, just then, he received an urgent secret command from the Heavenly King Hall—an ergency ssage from Tian Can. Ordinarily, Tian Can would never disturb him unless it was sothing major. Since the situation was urgent, Ye Fan had no choice but to head to the Heavenly King Hall.
Upon arriving, Ye Fan asked, "What’s the matter?"
Tian Can’s expression was grave. "Leader, the situation is not good."
"There’s news from the European Church Court!"
"What?" Ye Fan pressed, knowing that any news involving the European Church Court was bound to be bad. He doubted this ti would be an exception.
