Chapter 310: Chapter 309: Ice Phoenix Pearl

White Mountain, an important natural mountain range in the Divine Land, was known as a place graced by prodigies and potent Spiritual Energy. Due to its remote location, it had yet to be developed by man. The air here was extrely fresh, and the scenery magnificent. Ye Fan could feel it, and even Qin Yanran found it very comfortable.

Ye Fan rented a mountain off-road vehicle and drove it across the rocky plains. The vehicle shook and trembled violently. Qin Yanran, unable to withstand the constant jolting, nearly threw up. Ye Fan had no choice but to make frequent stops. There was no helping it; that was just the nature of the environnt here.

By evening, they finally arrived at the foot of White Mountain. Gazing up at its towering peak, Qin Yanran felt a wave of apprehension. Tomorrow, they had to climb this massive mountain. For her, it was a daunting challenge. However, since she was the one who had insisted on coming, she was determined to see it through.

The area was desolate. Only adventurers and those seeking the White Mountain Ganoderma would venture here, and certainly not during this ti of year. This was the coldest season, and coming here ant risking one’s life at any mont. It was safe to say there wasn’t another soul for a hundred miles around.

Ye Fan set up the tent and built a small campfire. Despite the flas, Qin Yanran still felt chilled to the bone, as the temperature was well below minus ten degrees Celsius. The small fire flickered like a will-o’-the-wisp, offering almost no warmth. It was a dry, biting cold, and even the dayti temperatures barely rose above freezing, to say nothing of the night.

"Yanran, are you cold?" Ye Fan asked.

"Ye Fan, am I holding you back again?" Qin Yanran asked, feeling guilty. If not for her, Ye Fan probably would have started climbing White Mountain overnight.

"Of course not. Don’t be silly," Ye Fan replied.

Qin Yanran snuggled happily into Ye Fan’s arms.

"I have a way for us to keep warm," Ye Fan said.

"What is it?" Qin Yanran asked curiously. She desperately needed to get warm.

Ye Fan whispered a few words in her ear, and Qin Yanran’s face imdiately flushed red. She hadn’t expected him to be so shaless. "Absolutely not!" she protested.

Her protests were muffled as Ye Fan pulled her into a tight embrace. Unable to break free, Qin Yanran was suddenly captured in a deep kiss. As the fire crackled and danced, the man and woman shared a mont of warmth amidst the wintry chill of the snowy mountain.

At first light the next day, Ye Fan and Qin Yanran prepared to climb White Mountain. Rumor had it that a Snow Pond was located at the summit. Perhaps another opportunity awaited them there.

It was undoubtedly their most difficult test yet. He helped Qin Yanran along the arduous climb, pulling her up steep sections that were more terrifying than the deepest abyss. For most of the ascent, Qin Yanran kept her eyes squeezed shut. She had never seen such a terrifying landscape and was certain that spending even half a day here would haunt her with nightmares for days to co.

Finally, they arrived halfway up the mountain.

"Ye Fan, look over there!" Qin Yanran exclaid.

Ye Fan followed her gaze and was surprised to see a clear spring. He hurried over to it. Upon arriving at the spring’s edge, he felt a strange sensation. The water wasn’t frozen, and its temperature was perfectly mild. He followed the stream to its source and discovered that it flowed from a massive stone door.

"Ugh!" Ye Fan grunted, pushing with all his might. The result was discouraging; the door wouldn’t budge an inch. Qin Yanran rolled her eyes.

She said to him, "Ye Fan, isn’t that a lever over there? Maybe if you pull it, the door will open!"

Damn it! I’m usually so sharp, how could I drop the ball at a critical mont like this? Ye Fan cursed internally. He quickly grabbed the lever.

Sure enough, the stone door slowly swung open. They passed through the gateway and stepped into a vast hall.

The ground began to shake with a deep RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE!

"An earthquake?" Ye Fan said in shock.

"Ye Fan, I feel the ground trembling under my feet!" Qin Yanran said, her own reaction quick. "And that huge noise... I think it’s heading right for us!"

Ye Fan went on full alert. Just as he did, a torrent of water surged toward them.

"Not good!" The deluge was so massive they would be instantly crushed by its pressure.

"Hold on to

tight!" Ye Fan shouted to Qin Yanran.

"Okay!" Qin Yanran quickly lunged forward and clung to him. Her heart pounded with fear and apprehension as she stared at the imnse wall of water. Ye Fan had a sinking feeling.

Just as the flood was about to crash down on them, it froze in mid-air.

"What is this?" Ye Fan exclaid in astonishnt. He never expected such a developnt. The torrent was suspended in place.

Looking closer, he saw that a water-blue crystal bead had appeared. The Crystal Stone was emitting a faint blue light, which was parting the torrent. Ye Fan was stunned. This was completely unexpected. He quickly moved forward, grabbed the bead, and pushed it forward. Instantly, the massive torrent of water receded.

Everything beca calm again, as if it had all been a dream. Ye Fan was even more astonished. He couldn’t believe such a small bead could possess such a powerful burst of energy. Its force was far beyond his expectations.

Qin Yanran slowly opened her eyes, finding the scene before her utterly incredible. She wasn’t the only one; Ye Fan was just as surprised. He turned the bead over and saw two characters carved on its surface: Ice Phoenix. This was the Ice Phoenix Pearl, the very treasure the Ice Phoenix Sect Master had been so desperately searching for.

"Ye Fan, what is this?"

Ye Fan smiled. "This belongs to a god."

"Are gods real?" Qin Yanran asked, puzzled.

Ye Fan couldn’t explain it either. "Honestly, I don’t know," he said. "But I imagine we’ll find out once our strength reaches a certain level."

"What should we do now?" she asked.

Ye Fan replied, "We’re going to find the White Mountain Thousand-year-old Ganoderma, of course. That’s our main objective. As for this Ice Phoenix Pearl, we’ll return it to the Ice Phoenix Clan when we get the chance."

Qin Yanran nodded, and they continued their climb. They finally reached the summit of White Mountain, the most mysterious part of the mountain. It was bitterly cold and devoid of sunlight. The sky above was shrouded in a dense fog. They were surrounded by a world of ice and snow; even the plants were frozen solid. The Snow Pond itself was encased in a thick layer of ice.

The temperature here was even lower, yet Qin Yanran didn’t feel cold at all.

"Yanran," Ye Fan asked, "why don’t you feel the cold?"

"I don’t know, Ye Fan," Qin Yanran replied. "Not only do I not feel cold, but I actually feel warr here than anywhere else!"

The temperature here was a full twenty degrees lower than at the foot of the mountain, yet she was enjoying it. Ye Fan was utterly baffled. But then he understood. It had to be because of the Ice Phoenix Pearl. There was no other explanation.
