Chapter 306: Chapter 305: Consecutive Defeats
Next, the Qianren Building Master stepped forward. His mood was heavy, and there was even a hint of fear in his heart, especially after witnessing the Jingang Pavilion Master’s tragic end. This ti, it was Leng Jian who would fight for Ye Fan’s side.
Leng Jian was an elite among elites from the military. He possessed rich combat experience and considerable strength, but more importantly, his years of service had forged an iron-willed, rciless fighting style. He stepped forward and declared, "I will fight you!"
"Good. Make your move!" the Qianren Building Master said imdiately.
Leng Jian attacked with his sharpest and most ferocious power. The Qianren Building Master sprang into action, sweeping out with his legs in the pattern of the Eight Diagrams, evolving the form as he moved. Leng Jian gained no advantage from the move; it felt as though the Qianren Building Master had completely redirected his power. The Qianren Building Master then attacked with a series of complex techniques. Leng Jian could only defend passively until he leaped out of the circle, at which point he noticed a Tai Chi Diagram had appeared on the ground.
This was the Qianren Building Master’s ultimate technique. His confidence buoyed by gaining the upper hand in their initial clash, the Qianren Building Master provocatively taunted Leng Jian.
The Two Forms generate the Four Symbols, and the Four Symbols give birth to the Eight Diagrams. Each move has a pre-selected position, making it seem simple but it’s actually incredibly complex. This Qianren Building Master really has so skill! Ye Fan thought to himself.
Zhan Xiong remained calm. Even though Leng Jian was at a disadvantage, he showed no signs of worry.
Leng Jian heightened his vigilance, attacking the Qianren Building Master’s eight positions at maximum speed. The Qianren Building Master swiftly changed his own positions, neutralizing all of Leng Jian’s attacks. But just as he launched an attack, Leng Jian countered, punching the Qianren Building Master in the chest and causing him to spit out a mouthful of blood. In return, Leng Jian was struck by a Tai Chi Palm, suffering internal injuries.
Their battle was perilous; a single misstep in any exchange could lead to death. It was an incredibly complex way to fight. However, Leng Jian was neither discouraged nor irrational. At this critical mont, he grew even more calm and collected. The Qianren Building Master knew this fight was difficult, but he was confident he could at least avoid defeat.
As a breeze blew past, Leng Jian struck again. He charged forward, and as the Qianren Building Master shifted positions, Leng Jian used his foot to sweep away the Tai Chi Diagram on the ground. In the blink of an eye, Leng Jian was injured again, but he had managed to erase two-thirds of the Tai Chi Diagram. When the Qianren Building Master landed and found no reference points beneath his feet, he was horrified. He scrambled to recreate the diagram, but Leng Jian wasn’t about to give him the chance. He lunged.
"Be careful!" the Tiangang Sect Master shouted, but by the ti the words left his mouth, Leng Jian had already closed the distance and was unleashing the military’s most decisive combat techniques. A punch landed squarely on the Qianren Building Master’s mouth, sending him flying backward in pain. Just as he was about to hit the ground, Leng Jian delivered a powerful kick.
CRACK!
"AH!"
The Qianren Building Master’s shriek confird that Leng Jian’s kick had snapped his spine.
"Leng Jian really is quick-witted!" Ye Fan remarked.
"Haha, Leng Jian is the nation’s sharpest sword. Of course he’s quick-witted!" Zhan Xiong laughed.
Before the Qianren Building Master’s screams could even fade, Leng Jian stomped down, his foot piercing straight through the man’s body. He then strode resolutely from the battlefield.
Everyone gasped. The mbers of the Futian Alliance trembled; they had now lost two of their top masters in a row. Their defeat seed inevitable, especially since the truly supre masters on Ye Fan’s side had yet to even make a move.
A heavy atmosphere enveloped the area as mbers of the Futian Alliance began to scatter and flee. The first to run were the Martial Artists from the Qianren Building and the Jingang Pavilion. In their view, with their leaders dead, staying was aningless and would only lead to their own demise.
"You bunch of cowards! Get back here!" the Tiangang Sect Master roared. Alas, his reprimand was useless. These n were already scared out of their wits, and even his own subordinates were contemplating escape. The only thing stopping them was that with their Sect Leader present, fleeing was a certain death sentence.
A sour feeling grew in the Tiangang Sect Master’s heart. He glanced at the Public Hall Master, but the Ice Phoenix Sect Master’s expression remained calm. Left with no choice, he gritted his teeth and stepped onto the battlefield. He had so confidence in his own strength, but more importantly, he knew that fleeing without a fight would land him on the Divine Dragon’s blacklist. If that happened, his entire sect would likely face their wrath. He would rather settle things with the Heavenly King Hall than offend the colossal Divine Dragon. Besides, the enemy’s strongest fighter, Ye Fan, was being held in check by the Ice Phoenix Sect Master, which gave him a chance to win.
This ti, he set his sights on Zhan Xiong, since they were both Half-step Emperor Level masters. The Tiangang Sect Master strode to the center of the battlefield and shouted, "Zhan Xiong, you old fool! If you have any guts, co and fight !"
They were evenly matched, but Zhan Xiong was older. The Tiangang Sect Master hoped to use this age difference to his advantage to defeat and kill him. It was ironic. They had ford the Futian Alliance with the grand goal of killing Ye Fan, but the result was far from satisfactory. They had neither the strength nor the opportunity. Having suffered one setback after another, the Futian Alliance was now on the verge of collapse.
Zhan Xiong started to step forward, but Nangong blocked his path. "Leave him to ," Nangong said.
In truth, Nangong had been itching for a fight, but the previous opponents were too weak, giving him no opportunity to showcase his skills. He wasn’t particularly interested in the Tiangang Sect Master either, but for him, not fighting was as unbearable as having thousands of ants crawling all over his body. The Heavenly King Hall’s resident battle maniac used to be Black Fog, but now, it was Nangong. When it ca to a love for battle, even Ye Fan had to take a step back. Nangong was a martial arts fanatic, born to fight.
Zhan Xiong nodded and ceded his spot, not bothering to argue. He knew that if he fought, victory wasn’t guaranteed. But with Nangong, a win was certain; it was only a matter of ti.
As Nangong stepped forward, the Tiangang Sect Master sneered, "You want to take
on? How arrogant. I don’t even take Zhan Xiong seriously, let alone you!"
He didn’t know Nangong’s true capabilities because Nangong had concealed his aura perfectly, deceiving not only him but the Ice Phoenix Sect Master as well.
Nangong simply said, "Enough talk. I’ll give you a three-move head start."
"Three moves is more than enough to finish you!" the Tiangang Sect Master scoffed.
At this, Ye Fan let out a strange laugh, and even Zhan Xiong couldn’t help but chuckle. Leng Feng and Leng Jian had heard that Nangong was powerful, but they had never actually seen him in action. Thus, they were thoroughly perplexed.
