Chapter 303: Chapter 302: The Storm Approaches

In an instant, Zhan Xiong’s expression changed dramatically. He could see that Black Fog’s strength was genuine; he was truly at the King Level. Moreover, Black Fog was absolutely capable of holding his own in a duel against either Leng Jian or Leng Feng without being defeated. But the sight of Nangong made the color drain from his face. The aura emanating from Nangong told him, intuitively, that Nangong’s strength was not much less than Ye Fan’s.

Two at the Emperor Level and one at the King Level. It was well known that any force with an Emperor-level Master at its helm was among the absolute top tier, able to look down on all others. Yet, Heavenly King Hall had another Emperor-level Master in its ranks. Who would dare underestimate such power? The progress of Heavenly King Hall had indeed exceeded Zhan Xiong’s expectations.

Although I haven’t reached the Emperor Level, I can still distinguish their auras. Ye Fan is at the Emperor Level, and so is Nangong. Together, they could probably fight an Emperor. At this point, Black Fog, a re King-level expert, is almost irrelevant. It seems the role a King Level can play is diminishing more and more.

At this mont, both Leng Feng and Leng Jian were shocked. It was true. This lineup was undoubtedly more formidable than Huaxia Sword.

Zhan Xiong smiled and said, "I hadn’t expected your Heavenly King Hall to beco so strong. It seems I was worrying over nothing."

"It’s just luck!" Ye Fan replied with a smile.

After so discussion, the two factions decided to set out on their campaign the next day.

These three factions were currently the most powerful forces openly operating within the Shenzhou Underground World, provided the hidden powers of Divine Land did not intervene. Thus, this battle was destined to unleash a storm of carnage and bloodshed.

However, Zhan Xiong now found himself in a quandary, as he did not want to engage in infighting. After all, no matter how wicked the Futian Alliance was, it was still a power of Divine Land. Internal conflict would only make them a laughingstock to outsiders. He had previously sent envoys to negotiate, but the Futian Alliance had not only ignored his advice but had even killed the n he sent. What they stood to gain from such actions was beyond him.

But both Ye Fan and Zhan Xiong had already guessed. The benefit for them was becoming the number one alliance openly operating within the Shenzhou Underground World.

Their ambition isn’t small, but their power can’t sustain it.

The next day, Ye Fan and Zhan Xiong set out. This ti, they summoned no fewer than three hundred people and marched boldly toward the Futian Alliance.

The Futian Alliance had not expected these two factions to retaliate so swiftly.

The Qianren Building Master remarked, "For these two factions to react in such a short ti truly exceeds my expectations!"

"It matters not. As long as they dare to co, we will let them taste the aning of despair!" the Tiangang Sect Master said coldly. As the strongest among those present, he paid the two opposing alliances no mind.

The Jingang Pavilion Master imdiately asked, "Should we ask the emissary of the Divine Dragon to join us against the enemy?" This was an important consideration. Since Jingang Pavilion was the weakest mber of their alliance, his concern was not unreasonable.

At that mont, a voice ca from outside.

"There’s no need for that. If we must trouble them over such a trivial matter, then our alliance has no reason to exist."

The speaker was the Sect Master of the Ice Phoenix Sect.

Of the major powers, the Ice Phoenix Sect was the most mysterious. Although it was publicly proclaid that the Tiangang Sect was the strongest, it was, in fact, the Ice Phoenix Sect that was the truly powerful force. It had to be said that although the Ice Phoenix Sect had few mbers, having dispatched only a dozen or so for this alliance battle, they were one of the most ancient sects.

Legend had it that the Ice Phoenix Sect were the heirs to the lineage of the ancient Ice Phoenix and possessed a trace of its power. Even if this was only a legend, the Ice Phoenix belonged to the Divine Race, and as its descendants, they were naturally extraordinary. They had ordinarily remained uninvolved in worldly affairs, but the Divine Dragon had paid a considerable price to solicit their participation. This lineage was exceedingly arrogant. They seldom appeared in alliance matters and would only arrive when the alliance was truly in need, which was the case this ti.

The newcor was a tall, powerfully built man—the Ice Phoenix Sect Master.

He said, "You three needn’t be so tense. With my Ice Phoenix Sect here, it would be futile even if their forces were twice as strong! But that’s to be expected. How could we, the descendants of the Divine Race, be compared with the likes of you!"

Upon hearing this, the faces of the three other leaders turned sour.

The Tiangang Sect Master rebuked him, "Ice Phoenix Sect Master, we are all mbers of this alliance. Watch your tongue! You may be powerful, but how could your Ice Phoenix Sect possibly be their match all on its own?"

The Tiangang Sect Master was also a man of great pride. In this face-off with the Ice Phoenix Sect Master, it beca a contest of arrogance.

The Ice Phoenix Sect Master said disdainfully, "Am I not speaking the truth?"

"You! Fine! Today, I will see for myself if a descendant of the Divine Race is as powerful as the legends claim!" the Tiangang Sect Master shot back.

The Ice Phoenix Sect Master responded, "Rest assured, you will not be disappointed!"

The two locked eyes, and it was clear they were seconds away from coming to blows.

"Enough squabbling!" the Qianren Building Master imdiately stepped in to diate. "When facing an external enemy, we must stand united!"

Only then did the two reluctantly stand down.

The Ice Phoenix Sect Master then said, "I have an agreent with the Divine Dragon to help you this one ti. After this, we go our separate ways!"

"Fine with . I have no desire to work with soone like you anyway," the Tiangang Sect Master replied coldly.

Subsequently, they discussed their strategy for dealing with the two opposing alliances. That Heavenly King Hall and Huaxia Sword would attack together was sothing they had planned for. What they hadn’t anticipated, however, was that both factions would retaliate so quickly.

Three days later, Ye Fan and Zhan Xiong arrived at the Futian Alliance’s stronghold.

The Futian Alliance sent the Jingang Pavilion Master forward to negotiate with Ye Fan.

From a distance, Ye Fan scanned the alliance’s leadership with disinterest, but one man in blue armor caught his attention. This man was the Ice Phoenix Sect Master, though Ye Fan did not yet know his identity. The Ice Phoenix Sect Master also glanced at Ye Fan. From the look in their eyes, it was evident they both shared an intense desire to battle each other. This was the intuitive connection between masters; once their auras were unleashed, they yearned for a fight, even if it ant death.

Ye Fan spoke first. "My Heavenly King Hall and our allies from Huaxia Sword have never interfered with your Futian Alliance. Why provoke a war?"

"Hmph! Who do you think you are? The goal of our Futian Alliance is to unify the Martial World of Divine Land," the Jingang Pavilion Master retorted coldly. "But you have beco a stumbling block on our path. Until you are eliminated, the Futian Alliance cannot establish its dominance in the martial world of Divine Land!"

Ye Fan scoffed, "Such arrogance. Do you truly believe a handful of sects can subdue the heavens? Let

be the one to shatter your delusions. You’ll soon find that I am your worst nightmare!"
