Chapter 296: Chapter 295: First Confrontation

Looking at Shangguan Qiuyue’s worried expression, Ye Fan said, "There’s no need to go through all that trouble. Even if you paid the price for a new Trading Order, that Ghost Emperor would just destroy it again. Next ti, he might be even more ruthless! In my opinion, the easiest way is to kill him and put an end to this problem for good."

Ye Fan’s decisiveness made Shangguan Qiuyue give up on persuading him.

That very day, Ye Fan returned to the Underground Boxing Ring in Thailand and issued a summons using his authority as the King of Boxing. The call was urgent: he needed the Underground Boxers to gather at the headquarters within three days. During this ti, Ye Fan carefully protected both Shangguan Qiuyue and He Yu. With their limited strength, they were easy targets for the Ghost Emperor.

The following day, Ye Fan began tracking a Ghost Suppressing Master. The man led him to a remote range of mountain peaks where buildings were faintly visible. Ye Fan was certain the Ghost Emperor lived within these mountains, so he stealthily infiltrated the area.

What he found made his heart pound. The grounds outside the building complex sward with countless poisonous creatures, forming a repulsive, writhing mass on the ground. Their venom was lethal; a single bite ant certain death for anyone but Ye Fan, who was immune to all poisons. Spiders, scorpions, venomous snakes, centipedes, and many other unnad yet horrifying creatures created a truly disgusting sight.

Ye Fan leaped, clearing this venomous barrier, and slipped into the building complex, which was also crawling with the creatures. They served as an absolute defense against intruders; any ordinary person who dared to enter was simply courting death. Ye Fan pressed deeper into the complex, wanting to learn its layout so he could wipe them all out in one fell swoop when he launched his attack.

Reaching the heart of the complex, Ye Fan discovered a strange building with a distinct Witch Clan aesthetic. The periter was, once again, infested with venomous creatures. Clearly, this man had a penchant for poisons. Just as Ye Fan approached one of the rooms, a large swarm of them burst out of a window.

"Break!" Ye Fan shouted, slashing the swarm to pieces.

Then, the door opened. A Monk wearing a necklace of Skull Beads walked out. He wasn’t particularly old, but it was clear he had lived for at least two hundred years. He stepped out barefoot, and all the poisonous creatures around him parted to make way. A venomous snake was draped around his neck, and a long centipede rested on his forehead.

This sinister Monk stood ten ters away from Ye Fan. "Kid," he said, "you dare invade my stronghold. Do you have any idea who I am?"

"Ghost Emperor!" Ye Fan retorted.

The Ghost Emperor laughed. "I didn’t expect anyone to rember

after a hundred years. I should be pleased!"

"Enough talk," Ye Fan said coldly. "I ca here to retrieve the Trading Order belonging to the Shangguan family and the Witch Clan tribes. If you don’t hand it over, I’ll tear this place down."

The Ghost Emperor, however, was unruffled. "Kid, you’ve got quite the nerve. Even the Witch Clan Patriarch wouldn’t dare speak to

with such arrogance. Aren’t you afraid of death for talking to

like that?"

"Fear of death is human nature," Ye Fan replied icily. "But the real question is whether you have the strength to kill ."

"Good, very good. Since we both hail from the Divine Land, I’ll grant you a swift death!" the Ghost Emperor said disdainfully.

Indeed, he was originally from the Divine Land’s Witch Clan but had been the reigning power in Thailand for a century.

"Then co and try !" Ye Fan challenged.

At that, the Ghost Emperor made his move, lunging at Ye Fan and unleashing his full power. Ye Fan swiftly t the attack head-on.

BANG!

The force of their auras blasted all the nearby poisonous creatures to shreds. After the single blow, they each staggered back several steps.

He’s as strong as they say. No wonder he claims he nearly replaced the Witch Clan Patriarch. His power isn’t much weaker than mine!

From that one strike, Ye Fan felt the Ghost Emperor’s terrifying strength. A true battle between them would likely end in mutual destruction.

The Ghost Emperor was also shocked. He had assud Ye Fan was just so greenhorn, but his strength had far exceeded his expectations. He had been at a slight disadvantage in that exchange. Although he hadn’t unleashed his full power, he knew Ye Fan hadn’t either.

The Ghost Emperor quickly recovered and charged at Ye Fan again, intent on killing him.

Ye Fan, not to be outdone, t his charge. They exchanged rapid blows, but just as their fists were about to connect, several hard silver needles appeared in the Ghost Emperor’s hand.

Ye Fan instantly pulled back, retreating to dodge the needles. He had no doubt that if he were pierced by them, he would be afflicted by the Ghost Suppressing Technique.

The Ghost Emperor sneered, "Impressive strength, but against , you’re destined to bleed!"

He charged again in a contest of raw power. He threw several silver needles, which Ye Fan swiftly dodged. Then, he engaged in close combat, displaying his full might. His physical strength alone was formidable, to say nothing of his even more terrifying Ghost Suppressing Technique.

"Initial Ghost Manifestation!" the Ghost Emperor roared, unleashing the technique. As countless apparitions pressed down on Ye Fan, he found himself with no room to retreat.

"Break!"

With a surge of Qi, he sliced through the spirits and pressed his assault.

"Well played!" the Ghost Emperor sneered, flinging out a volley of hidden weapons.

Ye Fan was fully occupied with blocking the projectiles. As the last of the hidden weapons fell, Ye Fan made his move, swiftly drawing the Yuanhong Sword.

With the Yuanhong Sword unsheathed, he shattered the silver needles in the Ghost Emperor’s hand. He then swung again, a slash imbued with imnse power.

The Ghost Emperor dodged swiftly. The house behind him exploded on impact. After the explosion, an eerie tranquility returned.

Although the Ghost Emperor had dodged the strike, black blood dripped from his hand. Clearly, Ye Fan’s last attack had injured him.

He said to Ye Fan, "Not bad at all. You actually managed to hurt !"

"If you don’t hand over the Trading Card now, it will be more than a simple injury next ti," Ye Fan said coldly. "I doubt you’ll keep your head."

"Hahaha! If we were anywhere else, I might believe you. But this is my fortress! What can you possibly do, no matter how strong you are?" the Ghost Emperor taunted. "I have a hundred ways to kill you!"

As he finished speaking, the Ghost Emperor produced a flute and began to play. Instantly, Ye Fan felt a wave of dizziness wash over him.

The surrounding toxic insects were rapidly converging on him.

Ye Fan declared coldly, "Cross and Diagonal Sword Technique—Break!"

He unleashed the Yuanhong Sword’s most powerful Sword Qi, and the swarming insects instantly burst apart.

But the Ghost Emperor’s expression didn’t change. He continued playing the flute. The lody was enchanting, yet it carried a boundless killing intent. Under the influence of such a bizarre Ghost Suppressing Technique, Ye Fan felt his consciousness growing increasingly dim.
