Chapter 205: Chapter 204: Fierce Battle
"Oh? Is that so?" Ye Fan said coldly.
Just as he spoke, two more figures appeared. Ye Fan’s heart grew heavy, but his expression remained calm, for these two were also Kings. The one in the blood-colored battle robe was the infamous Slaughter Blade King. The other, dressed like a rcenary with a brash and violent deanor, was the chanical King. He was the king among all rcenaries; for this, so also called him the King of rcenaries. All who battled him ended up torn apart by his own hands. Blood and brutality seed to be his trademarks.
The three of them surrounded Ye Fan, boxing him in. For a mont, Ye Fan felt a surge of pressure. The simultaneous appearance of three Kings was sothing he had not anticipated. Now that all seven Kings had appeared, this was bound to be the greatest reshuffling of power—a shake-up that not even the Kings themselves could avoid.
"King of Heaven, even if you are the foremost among Kings, what are your odds of winning against the three of us?" the Slaughter Blade King laughed wildly, his tone filled with triumph.
Even the chanical King spoke with a smile. "King of Heaven, we’ve been waiting for you here for many days. You’re slower than I imagined!"
Ye Fan asked him, "chanical King, our paths have never crossed. Why are you working against ?"
"Hahaha, that’s right, we have no grudges, and we’ve even collaborated indirectly a few tis. What you don’t know, however, is that the rise of your King Hall has destroyed my biggest business!"
"Oh?" Ye Fan asked, puzzled.
The chanical King explained, "The African battlefield may be a barren land, but it holds the world’s richest oil reserves, and you’ve seized control of this most valuable resource! The conflict over the oil fields here has a history spanning decades. It was one of the primary sources of inco for my rcenary groups. But since you took over, many of my groups have been forced to disband after losing their financial lifeline. You are the main culprit!" he finished, his voice filled with anger.
Ye Fan responded, "rcenaries are desperados by nature, chasing hefty rewards. I have done nothing wrong!"
"Hmph, say no more. In today’s battle, you must die!" the chanical King roared.
Ye Fan countered, "I’m afraid you don’t have what it takes!"
Instantly, the three of them stared coldly at him. Facing three great Kings, Ye Fan remained fearless.
* * *
The war at King Hall had reached a fever pitch, escalating to its climax. King Hall faced an enemy force three tis its size. It was a brutal situation, but its mbers were not afraid. They raised their blades and charged at the enemy, even as they were being encircled.
However, at that mont, a horn sounded.
"It’s our signal!" Huo Yun was overjoyed. The long-awaited signal had finally co.
Sure enough, the forces of the Heavenly King Hall, established by Ye Fan in the Divine Land, were approaching, charging through the billowing smoke. The allied forces of the three Kings positioned on the periter felt a growing sense of dread.
"Block them!" a commander among the allied forces ordered. The tripartite alliance began to dispatch a portion of its troops to intercept the Heavenly King Hall.
Amidst the dust storm, Tian Can roared, "Brothers, the final battle is here! Defend our ho! Eradicate this scum!"
"CHARGE!"
Tian Can led the assault. The Martial Artists from the Heavenly King Hall charged down from the rear. Though not nurous, their morale and combat prowess imdiately impacted the entire battlefield. The battle raged once more.
At that mont, Huo Yun was exhausted. He knew that even with the arrival of the Heavenly King Hall, their forces were still mismatched. So, he decided he had to do sothing crucial: kill the enemy commander. Once their leader fell, their ranks would fall into disarray, giving his side a chance at victory. With that thought, he charged toward the man on the command platform. Guarding the commander was a hulking giant standing over eight feet tall.
Huo Yun rushed forward with all his speed. The commander, of course, saw Huo Yun charging toward him but showed no fear. Instead, he said to the towering giant, "Tear him apart!"
"ROAR!" The burly giant beat his chest and stomped toward Huo Yun. With every step, the very earth seed to tremble. He kicked away everyone in his path and confronted Huo Yun.
Huo Yun held his blade horizontally, his eyes fixed on the giant.
"Kid, I’m going to tear you to pieces and make at pies from your flesh and blood!" the giant taunted.
"You’re not worthy!" Huo Yun retorted, swinging his blade as he lunged forward. The giant t his attack, swinging a massive Wolf Fang Club down at him. Huo Yun dodged swiftly, narrowly avoiding the blow. He quickly slashed back, but his blade was blocked by the giant’s club and shattered instantly.
Not good!
Huo Yun retreated seven or eight ters before stopping. He knew that while the giant was slow, his destructive power was imnse, forcing him to keep his distance.
"ROAR!" The giant charged at Huo Yun again, intent on smashing his skull.
Huo Yun dodged once more. This ti, as the Wolf Fang Club slamd into the ground, he leaped onto the weapon, sprang into the air, and landed directly on the giant’s shoulders. He drove his fist into the giant’s temple. Imdiately, blood stread from the giant’s eyes, ears, nose, and mouth, and he collapsed to the ground in agony. Huo Yun fell with him.
Now, Huo Yun stared at the commander. The commander was both shocked and terrified. His ace protector had been killed. He quickly drew a pistol and aid it at Huo Yun.
Huo Yun remained fearless. In the instant the commander fired, Huo Yun threw his broken blade. It flew through the air and embedded itself in the commander’s throat. The man collapsed, struggling for breath.
With their commander dead, the enemy forces were thrown into chaos and were soon being overwheld by King Hall’s army, despite it being at only half strength. After all, on a battlefield like this, superior numbers do not guarantee an absolute advantage.
BANG!
Just as Huo Yun breathed a sigh of relief, a powerful kick sent him flying, slamming him hard into the desert sand. He shook his head to clear it, only to see a longsword pierce through his lung, pinning him in place.
"Chui Feng!" Huo Yun bellowed in rage.
Chui Feng said, "Huo Yun, you ruined my grand plan. Today, you will undoubtedly die!"
"Chui Feng, how does the destruction of King Hall benefit you?" Huo Yun cried out. "You already control it! Why do you still want to destroy it?"
"Humph! What good is an empty shell of a base to ? I only ever took control of the shell. The true core remains in the hands of the King of Heaven!
"There’s no point in telling you all this. Now, die!"
He raised his sword to strike Huo Yun down. However, in that desperate mont, a handful of sand flew through the air, striking Chui Feng squarely in the eyes. He cried out, covering his face. When he opened his eyes again, he saw that Di Que had arrived.
"Brother Huo Yun, are you alright?" Di Que asked.
Huo Yun was in a terrible state. His injuries were severe, and he would be of no further help. He warned, "Di Que, you’re no match for him. Get out of here!"
"Today, I’ll send both of you to Hell!" Chui Feng scoffed. He knew Di Que’s strength and was confident that his opponent was no match for him.
But Di Que replied, "Don’t worry! Though I’m not his match, soone else is here who can deal with him!"
"Is that so?" Chui Feng sneered. Just then, he felt a pair of eyes on his back. He whirled around to see a figure drenched in fresh blood, clutching two daggers.
"Black Fog!"
Chui Feng was stunned. He knew of Black Fog’s reputation—the most mysterious of assassins and the man most qualified to beco a King. In a sense, more people in the entire underworld knew of Black Fog than of the King of Heaven. It was simply that Black Fog’s na didn’t ring out as loudly.
The situation was dire. Although Chui Feng was the strongest of the five great captains, he wasn’t certain he could defeat Black Fog. But then, things grew even worse. From another direction, a new legion descended upon the battlefield, their sudden arrival catching everyone by surprise.
The combined forces of the Dark Night Demon Queen and the Green Emperor Sect had appeared as if by a miracle. Their arrival would completely alter the course of the battle. No one would have expected these two powers from North Arica to suddenly appear. Judging by the way they relentlessly slaughtered the allied forces, it was clear their allegiance lay with King Hall.
