Chapter 201: Chapter 200: The Twilight of a Hero

"Who the hell is the spy? Find him! Laozi is going to kill him!" Huo Yun roared in anger.

"The enemy is too overpowering. We must retreat!" Sha Xiong said urgently.

Huo Yun grimaced. "It seems that’s our only option."

The two fought as they fell back, preparing to evacuate. But at that mont, a cloud of dust rose in the distance, and a large convoy of off-road vehicles erged from within it. The vehicles charged straight for them, seemingly intent on running them down. Huo Yun braced for a fight, but the sight of the approaching enemies sent a shiver down their spines, making them both tense up.

The newcors were terrifying. They were the Tu Guards and the Rashamon army, and what’s more, they were the absolute elites under the command of the Rashamon King and the Slaughter Blade King. Even from afar, the two n could sense the presence of at least five individuals on par with their own strength—an extrely ominous revelation. To make matters worse, they were already exhausted. They had no strength left to fight these five.

Seeing the enemy closing in to encircle them, Sha Xiong said to Huo Yun, "You have to go! Tell headquarters to retreat through the secret passage! The enemy is much stronger than we anticipated."

"No!" Huo Yun retorted. "If we go, we go together. If not, we die fighting together. To die in battle with my brothers is the greatest honor of my life."

"Enough!" Sha Xiong snapped. "This is no ti for sentintality! I have to hold them back for you, otherwise, they’ll catch up to you in no ti!"

"I’m older than you are. If anyone leaves, it should be you. I’ll stay and cover our retreat!" Huo Yun insisted.

Determination and resolve filled both n’s eyes. It was clear that neither wanted to leave. There are always those who would not hesitate to die for their brothers, and they are the most respectable of all people. Sha Xiong and Huo Yun were clearly such n.

"Brothers, follow

and charge!" Huo Yun shouted, about to lead his subordinates forward.

But at that mont, Sha Xiong pressed a dagger to his own neck.

"What are you doing?" Huo Yun cried out, startled.

"Don’t you know what I’m doing?" Sha Xiong barked. "Brother, you have two choices. Either you take so n and escape, get back to headquarters, and flee with the others—at least that way, King Hall survives.

"Or, you can watch

kill myself, then die here with everyone else. Before the boss even gets here, King Hall will be completely wiped out!"

Sha Xiong had laid down his ultimatum.

"Brother, why do you have to do this!" Huo Yun cried. Even for a man of iron will, he couldn’t help but weep. The pain was unbearable.

"GO!" Sha Xiong roared, pressing the blade harder until blood trickled from his neck, his eyes wild as if he had lost his mind.

"Go!" Huo Yun finally yelled, a single tear tracing a path down his cheek as he led his remaining n in a swift retreat. Only after confirming they were safely away did Sha Xiong lower the dagger.

He turned to the dozen or so n still by his side. "Brothers, in life we are n of King Hall, and in death, we are its ghosts. From beginning to end, we pledge loyalty to only one person: the King of Heaven!

"We live to fight for the King of Heaven; he is our god! Now, take up your blades! Even in death, we will show our enemies that King Hall has no cowards! We are not cowards! We will strike fear into their hearts!"

Despite being only a dozen strong, their aura was terrifying.

"Brothers, charge!" Sha Xiong thundered.

The small group rushed forward. The mont the two forces clashed, Sha Xiong watched in horror as his subordinates were sent flying by the impact of the off-road vehicles.

Now, more than a hundred n surrounded him. Sha Xiong fought fiercely amidst the crowd. For him, killing one was breaking even; every kill after that was a profit.

About ten minutes later, Sha Xiong gasped for breath, half-kneeling on the ground amidst a field of corpses. He had taken down at least twenty of them. The enemy circled him warily, and he glared back at them with pure disdain.

From behind the crowd, three n erged. They were all leaders of the Tu Guard.

One of them sneered, "Sha Xiong, one of the five captains of King Hall. Look at you now, on your last breath. You lot from King Hall have always been so arrogant, haven’t you? Hahaha."

He spoke with disdain, his dark eyes fixed on Sha Xiong as he let out an unrestrained laugh. The crowd joined in, their raucous laughter echoing around them. Sha Xiong was a hero in his twilight.

Struggling back to his feet, Sha Xiong declared, "King Hall will not be humiliated! Even if I am the last one standing, I will fight to the death!"

He roared fiercely, "Co on! If you have the guts, attack

all at once! I will die before I retreat!"

"Is that so?"

The three Tu Guard leaders attacked. Their thods were brutal, their strikes sinister and terrifying—enough to drive a man to despair. They converged on him, one slashing at his back while the other two struck his wrist and chest. Their weapons, hidden in their sleeves, flashed like wraiths from Hell, despair-inducing and bone-chilling.

Blood poured from Sha Xiong’s wounds, but he remained undaunted.

"Kill! Fight for the King of Heaven!" he bellowed, charging forward one last ti.

One of the Tu Guard leaders ran him through with a weapon. But Sha Xiong, who had seed to have no strength left, suddenly swung his massive blade. With a single arc, the head of that Tu Guard flew from his shoulders.

"You’re courting death!"

The remaining two leaders were furious. They hadn’t anticipated Sha Xiong could still fight back; their comrade’s death was a result of pure carelessness.

"Kill him!"

They struck together, inflicting more than a dozen new wounds on Sha Xiong, nearly all of them fatal. Sha Xiong swayed on his feet, then roared one last ti, "Kill!"

He collapsed to the ground, dead.

The surviving Tu Guard leaders and their subordinates stared, their faces etched with fear. Sha Xiong and his n were dead, but their fighting spirit had beco a nightmarish presence, filling them with despair and dread.

Suddenly, a figure shot through the dust cloud, approaching at a speed that defied all limits. In the blink of an eye, he was in their midst.

"A King-level master!"

A chill ran down the spines of the two Tu Guard leaders. They hadn’t expected a King to appear now. After all, who else besides a King possessed such ferocious speed? When this person broke into the crowd, those who stood in his way were instantly torn to bloody shreds. Who but a King could possess such terrifying destructive power? This power brought only obliteration and bloodshed.

When the man finally stopped, the entire crowd instinctively fell back, their eyes fixed on him with gravity. The newcor was the King of Heaven.

When Ye Fan saw his brother lying in a pool of blood, he choked, a mouthful of blood spraying from his lips as the anguish in his heart reached its peak. He knelt, gathered Sha Xiong’s body into his arms, and wept. This was a man he had personally trained, and now he lay dead.

Sha Xiong’s eyes slowly fluttered open. He spoke, his voice a trembling, difficult whisper. "Boss... I... we didn’t disgrace you!"

"You didn’t. You are my proudest brothers!" Ye Fan said, his voice thick with emotion.

"Boss... there’s... there’s a traitor in our ranks. Be... be careful!"

With his final words spoken, Sha Xiong’s life faded away. Ye Fan could only stare at him blankly. He felt as if he were witnessing again those dark days in the Divine Dragon, when his brothers had been shredded by the enemy to cover his escape—a scene he still did not have the courage to recall.
