Chapter 182: Chapter 181: On of Great Misfortune

"At night, especially under a bright moon, the Vampire Clan’s combat power increases exponentially, while dayti is when they are at their weakest," Ye Fan explained, laying out the Blood Clan’s weaknesses. "Even a Duke of the Blood Clan won’t have his peak combat strength—seventy percent at most! If we can’t seize this opportunity, our chances of victory are practically zero!"

For low-ranking mbers of the Blood Clan, sunlight was sothing they dared not face. For high-ranking mbers, however, even sunlight couldn’t completely suppress them. This was the information Ye Fan had gathered over the past few days from Western historical records. He had read through virtually all available materials on battles against the Blood Clan, and every account was harrowing. The clan had a clear hierarchy, and in this modern age, they had grown even stronger. A Duke was indeed a formidable opponent.

After their discussion, the three decided to set out during the day. Before their departure, Master Xuantian and the Dark Night Demon Queen mobilized nearly all their intelligence agents to search for any trace of the Blood Clan. A full day of searching yielded nothing. On the second day, however, soone spotted Ye Luocha’s movents.

Holding the intelligence report and a map, Ye Fan said, "Ye Luocha and the King of Bai Ting have allied with the Duke of the Blood Clan. According to this report, it looks like they’re about to rendezvous! If we follow Ye Luocha, we might be able to find them."

The other two nodded, agreeing that his analysis made sense. The trio set off imdiately. Victory or defeat hinged on this very attempt.

"According to my agents, Ye Luocha is likely heading to this location," the Dark Night Demon Queen said, pointing at the map.

Ye Fan looked at the map, seeing only two mountains with a large canyon between them.

"What’s so special about this place?" Ye Fan asked.

"This was once a Western mining site," she explained. "The mining tunnels are said to stretch for dozens of miles, all shrouded in darkness. But a hundred years ago, sothing strange happened there. The exact cause is unknown, but according to records and legends, the mine collapsed, burying all the workers inside.

"The European Church Court deed it Devil’s Land and built a fortified church there, which they nad the Evil Punishnt Church. But peace didn’t last in the church, either. Many mbers died within its walls, so all the clergy eventually withdrew.

"Even now, no one dares to enter."

Hearing the Dark Night Demon Queen’s account, Ye Fan sensed there was more to the story. It was very likely the Blood Clan’s dwelling. The Blood Clan’s influence spanned the entire West, rivaling the Bright Church for a millennium without ever falling behind. Their power was imnse.

Therefore, Ye Fan said, "It seems we really have to go there."

"Do you believe devils exist in this world?" Ye Fan asked Master Xuantian.

Master Xuantian replied, "I do, but there is sothing far more terrifying than any devil."

"Oh?" Ye Fan and the Dark Night Demon Queen both turned to look at him.

"The human heart," Master Xuantian stated, revealing a profound truth. "It is far more horrifying than Hell itself."

Ye Fan gave a self-deprecating laugh and walked on.

The three arrived outside the valley of the Evil Punishnt Church around noon. From a distance, Ye Fan could see the church standing in the middle of the canyon, looking as if it had been abandoned for a very long ti.

"We’re at the canyon entrance," the Dark Night Demon Queen said. "Five kiloters ahead lies the Evil Punishnt Church, a forbidden place for humans. It’s said that many devils are suppressed there."

At that mont, Master Xuantian added, "The air is thick with the stench of blood. My copper coin is trembling. It seems today is not an auspicious day for this journey."

"You fortune-tellers are certainly particular about dates!" Ye Fan said with amusent.

Master Xuantian was not only powerful, but his divination skills were also exceptionally refined. It was said that everything he foretold would co to pass.

Master Xuantian chuckled. "These are just parlor tricks, good enough to fool ordinary people. Attempting to deceive you, King of Heaven, is out of the question."

"Then read my fortune," Ye Fan laughed. "Who knows, I might actually fall for it."

The Dark Night Demon Queen rolled her eyes. Of all the tis to be discussing sothing as trivial as divination.

"Since the King of Heaven wishes for a reading, I shall cast one for this very mission," Master Xuantian declared.

With that, he spread his copper coins. They clattered to the ground and landed perfectly on their edges, standing upright. Master Xuantian’s face filled with a puzzled expression.

"Master, is this journey auspicious or inauspicious?" Ye Fan asked.

"The coins stand on their edges, balanced between two fates. The divination shows our path is split. If we can resolve the conflict ahead, our mission will be auspicious. If not, it will end in great disaster!" Master Xuantian explained.

Ye Fan rolled his eyes. That was as good as saying nothing. I concede, he thought wryly.

The trio hurried toward their destination. anwhile, the Green Emperor Sect and the forces of the Dark Night Demon Queen’s Purple Luo Palace also mobilized, planning a two-pronged assault. The sheer number of masters involved in this massive operation was unprecedented in the underworld.

Soon, the three approached the Evil Punishnt Church. As they looked upon the dilapidated and eerie structure, the scent of blood grew stronger. They could see many people standing guard in front of it.

"Just as we suspected," Ye Fan declared.

"Exactly. So many guards an they were also preparing to make a move. It’s a good thing we took the initiative; otherwise, we would have been in real peril," Master Xuantian stated. Despite his age, he now carried himself with the air of a grandmaster, his celestial aura a match for Zhan Xiong’s. He showed no signs of weakness.

"With so many guards, sneaking in unnoticed is impossible," Ye Fan comnted. "It looks like we’ll have to force our way through."

"An excellent idea!" Master Xuantian nodded.

However, before he and the Dark Night Demon Queen could fully process the thought, Ye Fan had already charged forward. The two sighed in unison. What an impulsive hothead, always rushing into a fight at the slightest provocation.

"Who goes there?"

Before the leader of the guards could even recover from his shock and raise a defense, Ye Fan had already slit his throat. The man clutched his neck in agony and collapsed.

The remaining guards finally reacted. As they moved to surround Ye Fan, they discovered their rear flank had been breached by the Dark Night Demon Queen and Master Xuantian. The area outside the church erupted into chaos. Ye Fan weaved through the crowd, a whirlwind of death leaving a trail of bodies in his wake. Even the so-called immortal Blood Clan could not withstand his furious assault.

All three wielded the power of Kings and were simply unstoppable. In monts, Ye Fan breached the main hall. He violently dispatched anyone who stood in his way, and an eerie quiet fell over the hall. Ye Fan sensed several powerful, shifting auras nearby, and he dared not relax his guard.

"King of Heaven, ddling again. Since you’ve co, you won’t be leaving," a loud voice bood.

Imdiately after, a massive statue of a deity ca crashing down from above. "All-Shattering Force!" Ye Fan roared.

He braced himself, using his own body to stop the massive statue. At that mont, he saw a figure standing atop it: the King of Bai Ting.

It was dim inside, devoid of sunlight, but he could still clearly make out the King of Bai Ting’s face. The sight stunned him. Aren’t those the marks of the Blood Clan? When did the King of Bai Ting beco one of them?

He looked at the disheveled figure, whose face was deathly pale and who sported long, sharp fangs. "You’ve beco a vampire!"
