The next day, Su Qingxue made an urgent phone call to Ye Fan. Not daring to delay, he imdiately headed to the company.
The entrance to the company was blocked by a group of bodyguards, and a convoy of eight luxury cars was parked nearby. They were all top-tier models and incredibly eye-catching.
Su Qingxue was pacing anxiously at the entrance. When she saw Ye Fan approaching, she rushed over. "Honey, sothing terrible has happened."
"Don’t worry, darling," Ye Fan said, trying to calm her. "Just tell
what’s going on." He had no idea what could have happened.
Just then, Su Qingxue said, "You know about Fenghua International from North Arica, right?"
"I do," Ye Fan responded promptly. "They own many casinos and businesses in North Arica. The group has vast assets, ranking among the top in North Arica with at least fifty billion dollars!"
The corporation was thriving in North Arica, but that wasn’t the most important part. What mattered was that it was a Chinese-owned group with imnse assets and formidable strength. Their background was powerful. They were reportedly backed by the Green Emperor Sect, making their influence truly formidable.
Su Qingxue continued, "Fenghua International suddenly showed up at our company demanding to see soone. The person they’re looking for is Tang Yurou!"
"Oh?" Ye Fan was puzzled. What does this have to do with Tang Yurou?
"They claim that Tang Yurou is the long-lost daughter of Fenghua International’s chairman!" Su Qingxue revealed.
"What? That’s impossible!" Ye Fan grew even more puzzled. "Isn’t your dad good friends with Tang Yurou’s father? You know her family background. How could she possibly be related to Fenghua International?" Have they gotten the wrong person?
"That’s true, my dad and Tang Yurou’s father were good friends. Her dad was once my father’s most trusted assistant," Su Qingxue explained. "But when Tang Yurou was nine, her parents died in a car accident, leaving her an orphan. For all these years, my dad has looked after her, paying for her education and living expenses. That’s why after graduating, Tang Yurou ca to work at the company and beca my right-hand woman."
Hearing Su Qingxue’s explanation, Ye Fan realized how mysterious the situation was. The only people who knew the truth—Su Jian Country and Tang Yurou’s parents—were dead, leaving behind an unsolved puzzle.
"Honey, what should we do now?" Su Qingxue asked anxiously.
Ye Fan replied, "It’s simple. We don’t have the right to decide this for her. You need to have Tang Yurou co back and ask for her opinion."
"I’ve already done that," Su Qingxue said. "I told her there was an important company eting and that she needed to return imdiately. She’s on a flight to Jiangning now."
The two of them returned to the company building. Inside the reception room, a man in his forties sat stiffly in a chair. He didn’t even rise when Su Qingxue entered.
Ye Fan was offended. This fellow has no manners at all. Then again, he *is* from Fenghua International.
The man said to Su Qingxue, "I must see my daughter before dark today. Otherwise, I will acquire your company."
"Mr. Mo," Su Qingxue replied coolly, "Fenghua International may be powerful, but the Su family will not be intimidated. I hope you can adopt a more sincere attitude."
She didn’t back down an inch. Even if Fenghua International is powerful, I have Ye Fan backing
up. I have nothing to fear.
Mo Chou, one of Fenghua International’s successors, had co to the Divine Land specifically to find his long-lost daughter. He was, after all, a world-famous tycoon. Being spoken to so bluntly by Su Qingxue made his anger flare. "Do you honestly believe I couldn’t acquire your company this very instant?" he retorted.
"I don’t," Ye Fan said, stepping forward.
Mo Chou turned to him. "And who are you?"
"That’s not important, Mr. Mo," Ye Fan said rationally. "You say you’re here to find your long-lost daughter. Could you please explain the situation? And how are you so certain that Tang Yurou is her?"
But Mo Chou sneered, "You are not qualified to know. And you had best not provoke my anger. Even though we are in the Divine Land, Fenghua International can crush you no matter where you are."
Ye Fan clenched his fists, fighting the urge to beat the old man up. He forced himself to calm down. If he really is Tang Yurou’s father, then he’d be my father-in-law. I can’t just attack him.
At that mont, Su Qingxue said, "Mr. Mo, if you’ve truly co to find your daughter, I suggest you drop the threatening tone. If you are sincere, tell us the situation, and we will help you."
Mo Chou seed to realize his words had been inappropriate. He sighed and said, "Years ago, my wife and I were touring the Divine Land when we were attacked. With our lives in danger, we had no choice but to entrust our daughter to a young, impoverished couple. Before I left, I gave them all the money I had and begged them to take good care of her.
"I promised that once the crisis was over, I would return for them and reward them handsoly. But when I ca back to the Divine Land a year later, I discovered they had moved. For years, we never gave up the search for my daughter. It was only recently that I finally found the nas and whereabouts of that young couple. They were my daughter Yurou’s adoptive parents."
After hearing Mo Chou’s explanation, Su Qingxue and Ye Fan finally understood. Mo Chou then said, "My apologies. My concern for my daughter made
act rashly. If I have caused any offense, please forgive ."
They both nodded. Su Qingxue suddenly recalled sothing Tang Yurou had once ntioned: her parents weren’t originally from Jiangning; they had moved there when she was about a year and a half old. If that was true, then Tang Yurou really could be Mo Chou’s daughter.
The situation was truly full of twists and turns. Now, they were worried about whether Tang Yurou could accept this new family. They recalled Ye Fan’s own experience—he had been completely unprepared and even resistant at first.
That evening, Tang Yurou finally returned. When she arrived at the company, she was t with an unexpected scene.
"Tang Yurou, you’re back," Su Qingxue said.
Tang Yurou looked around, confused. "President, wasn’t there supposed to be an important eting?"
She only saw Su Qingxue, Ye Fan, and an unfamiliar older man who had several bodyguards standing behind him.
Mo Chou rose to his feet. "My daughter!" he exclaid.
Tang Yurou froze, utterly baffled. Why is this man calling
his daughter? I have parents. A sense of resistance welled up inside her, and she didn’t know how to respond.
Just as she was about to ask what was going on, Ye Fan stepped in. "Mr. Mo, could you have your bodyguards wait outside?"
But Mo Chou refused. "I’m sorry, but they are here to protect . They cannot leave my side."
"You can rest assured, it’s perfectly safe here," Ye Fan pressed. "Since this is a private family matter, it’s best we don’t have an audience, don’t you think?"
"Hmph! I see no security asures here. I can’t entrust my safety to you!" Mo Chou retorted.
In that instant, Ye Fan moved. In a flash, he charged toward Mo Chou’s bodyguards. Before Mo Chou could even react, all four of his n were lying on the floor. He stared in shock, unable to believe that Ye Fan had taken down four first-class bodyguards in a single move. He had never expected this young man’s skills to be so terrifying.
"Now are you reassured?" Ye Fan asked calmly.
Mo Chou, a cold sweat on his back, nodded quickly. He turned to his bodyguards, who were struggling back to their feet. "You can all wait outside."
The four n left, trembling with embarrassnt. To be taken down simultaneously was a great humiliation, but they couldn’t complain. They hadn’t even seen how Ye Fan moved.
Now, only four people remained in the reception room: Mo Chou, Ye Fan, Su Qingxue, and Tang Yurou. The atmosphere grew quiet and tense. The most bewildered of all was Tang Yurou, who was completely lost, with no idea what had just happened or what was about to.
