"That guy is so obnoxious!" Ye Fan said to Mu Wanxin.
"I’ve already decided to resign. He’s about to be promoted to Departnt Head and has been harassing

"Once he becos the Departnt Head, he’ll definitely make my life miserable. So, I’m going to resign after this flight gets back."

Guo Dong said tauntingly, "See? This is the price you pay for rejecting

"Guo Dong, have so self-respect!" Mu Wanxin shot back. At that point, she was on the brink of an outburst.
"Self-respect? What’s that? Why don’t you explain it to ?" Guo Dong scoffed.
Overwheld with humiliation, Mu Wanxin resolved to resign without hesitation the mont her flight landed at Jiangning Airport. But just then, the director in charge of the airport arrived.
They never expected the director to co in person. Even Guo Dong, despite his impending promotion, was nothing before the director. He imdiately shed his arrogant attitude and put on a respectful deanor.
The other employees also stopped taunting Mu Wanxin. What is the director here for? None of them knew.
The director spoke. "Who is Guo Dong?"
At his words, a dozen pairs of eyes turned to Guo Dong. To them, and to Guo Dong himself, this seed like good news. To be personally called out by the director... My teoric rise is about to begin! he thought.
"I am!" he quickly replied, his voice full of respect.
The director glanced at him and said, "An investigation has confird that you have abused your authority and committed many acts in violation of the Civil Aviation Administration’s regulations."
"Therefore, as of now, you are dismissed. You will return to Jiangning for further investigation."
Guo Dong was stunned, as if struck by a lightning bolt from a clear blue sky. He even suspected he had misheard. Many people knew he abused his power, but his superiors had never reacted. After all, he had plenty of connections here. But this ti, he was being dismissed outright. The hopelessness was crushing.
The director’s aide threw the dismissal notice in Guo Dong’s face. Staring at the letter, Guo Dong knew it wasn’t a dream. He had really been fired. At this ti, the director spoke again. "Who is Mu Wanxin?"

The entire room was in shock. The Departnt Head’s position was now Mu Wanxin’s. While she was certainly capable, she was far from having the necessary seniority or experience. Is this an exceptional promotion?
When the assistant respectfully handed the letter of appointnt to Mu Wanxin, they knew it was a done deal. They couldn’t bring themselves to be happy, though. Under Guo Dong’s influence, they had ostracized her relentlessly. Now that she had turned the tables, they would be the ones to suffer next. Their faces turned deathly pale, and they had no idea what to do.
Guo Dong had been about to call his own contacts to handle the situation, but the appointnt letter had already been given to Mu Wanxin. He scrambled to ask, "Director, could there be a mistake with the appointnts?"
He was still clinging to a one-in-a-million hope, but there was none to be had. There was no mistake.
The director asked, "Are you questioning my ability to handle matters?"
"I wouldn’t dare!" Guo Dong stamred.
He then begged, "Director, can you please give
another chance?"
"I gave you many chances. You didn’t cherish them. You have no one to bla but yourself." The director’s tone was final, leaving no room for negotiation.
Then, the director left with his people. Guo Dong slumped onto a seat, dejected, as if his very soul had been drained from his body. The outco was far beyond his expectations.
Mu Wanxin knew that everything she had today was thanks to Ye Fan.
