Chapter 124: Chapter 123: Strike a Hard Bargain

Ye Fan smiled. "It’s fine, go on and do your work. I’ll handle anything that happens here."

The flight attendant hurriedly took the trash away.

At this, the fat man and his mistress finally quieted down. They had been swaggering around just monts before, but after witnessing Ye Fan’s terrifying side, they didn’t dare to act out again.

"What are you looking at? Haven’t you ever seen a handso guy before?" Ye Fan scolded. Instantly, the other passengers in first class fell silent. Their attitude of just watching the drama for entertainnt had annoyed him.

Then, Ye Fan turned back to the fat man. "You’re in my damn seat."

The fat man quickly squeezed over. In his mind, however, he had already burned Ye Fan’s face into his mory, swearing he would teach him a lesson after they got off the plane.

「」

After disembarking, Ye Fan waited at the airport. He was eting an old friend, a great guy in every way except for his chronic lateness, which always frustrated Ye Fan.

Before long, three n surrounded him. In the middle, flanked by two young n, was the fat man from the plane.

He gestured toward Ye Fan and said to his companions, "Kill him for . That bastard dared to insult

on the plane! If I weren’t such a civilized man, I would have killed him right there!"

His shalessness was on another level, even greater than Ye Fan’s. It wasn’t that he had any self-restraint; he was just scared stiff after Ye Fan had beaten him into submission.

At that mont, Ye Fan said, "It seems you still haven’t learned your lesson."

"Kid, I said I’d kill you, and I don’t go back on my word!" the fat man retorted.

Ye Fan replied, "Then you’ve lost your chance."

The mont he finished speaking, a Ferrari LaFerrari pulled up, with a rcedes-Benz S-Class following close behind. This was a top-tier hypercar, billed as the most luxurious of its kind—a vehicle that only the rich and powerful could afford in any country.

A Western man erged from the LaFerrari, followed by four or five bodyguards in suits. He took off his sunglasses and bellowed, "Who dares bully my friend!"

At the sight of this procession, the fat man and his cronies were terrified. They wouldn’t dare act so arrogantly in their own country, let alone here. Moreover, judging by the display of power, this newcor was clearly not soone to be trifled with. He was genuinely afraid now.

He hurriedly stamred, "This... this is all a misunderstanding!"

Even with three of them, they knew they wouldn’t stand a chance against even one of the bodyguards. How could they not be afraid? Besides, they were on foreign soil. If they were killed here, it would be difficult to even find their bodies. He imdiately forced a sycophantic smile.

"Misunderstanding, my ass!" the owner of the LaFerrari shouted. "Beat them! Beat them senseless!"

The bodyguards charged forward and gave the three a savage beating.

The fat man’s face was beaten black and blue. He’d never expected Ye Fan to have such powerful connections; he had truly miscalculated this ti. When he saw that even the airport police didn’t dare to intervene, he finally realized Ye Fan was an absolute titan. The bodyguards were ruthless, only stopping after they had nearly beaten the three n to death.

Then, the man in sunglasses turned to Ye Fan. "Welco to my turf, King of Heaven!"

Ye Fan remarked, "You certainly know how to live it up!"

"Hahaha, it’s nothing special. I can’t compare to you, King of Heaven, a man who roams the four seas!" he said with a relaxed laugh.

The two of them then walked over to the LaFerrari.

This shifty-looking Western man was Ye Fan’s old friend, Spencer, who used to be involved in the underworld’s business. His backer had always been Ye Fan, which was why few in the underworld dared to cross him. While many weren’t afraid of Spencer himself, they all feared the King of Heaven. Now, he had left the underworld behind and was one of Europe’s top business magnates. His net worth was over ten billion euros, and he thrived in the West. Even more impressively, many of his acquaintances were European royals and aristocrats.

"King of Heaven, where have you been lately?" Spencer asked. "Even though I don’t follow the underworld anymore, I haven’t heard any news about you at all!"

"I returned to the Divine Land, of course," Ye Fan said. "I am a citizen of the Divine Land, after all."

"Well, you have to have a good ti on this trip to Europe. I’ll cover all your expenses," Spencer said to Ye Fan with a smile.

Ye Fan imdiately replied, "With a friendship like ours, how could I possibly let you pay!"

"Don’t be polite! Who else but the King of Heaven deserves to have

spend money on them? It’s only right and proper!"

Sothing’s off, Spencer thought. Ye Fan seems different. In the past, he would have shaken

down for all I was worth. This ti, though, he isn’t extorting

and is even being polite. This feels strange.

Ye Fan continued, "We’re old friends, so if you really want to treat , then just give

a billion or two for pocket money! How could I trouble you with anything else?"

Spencer’s eyelid twitched. A billion or two for pocket money? I’d take as much of that kind of ’pocket money’ as I could get!

"Ahem, Brother King of Heaven," he coughed. "While that may be pocket money to you, I really can’t co up with that much right now. I’ve expanded my business significantly recently."

"So how much can you co up with?" Ye Fan asked.

"For old ti’s sake, I can give you twenty million euros for expenses," Spencer said imdiately. Giving too little might make Ye Fan think he was stingy, but giving too much was a personal loss. It was indeed a difficult choice.

Ye Fan said, "Co on, for a friendship like ours, make it fifty million. It’s not a handout; I’ll pay you back later. I’m not the type to welch on a debt!"

Spencer’s heart nearly broke. Ye Fan indeed isn’t the type to welch on a debt, because when he borrows money, he never intends to pay it back in the first place! The concept of defaulting doesn’t even exist for him.

Though it pained him, Spencer endured it. Fifty million euros was a massive sum, but for him, it wasn’t an insurmountable amount.

At that mont, Ye Fan patted his shoulder. "We really are good brothers, unlike those other guys who forgot all about

once they made it big."

It’s not that they forgot you, Spencer thought. They’re just terrified of you extorting them, so they all avoid you like the plague!

"Of course! With a bond like ours, what’s a little money between friends?" Spencer said, forcing himself to act as if he didn’t care. It was truly a difficult act to maintain.

Ye Fan then added, "Also... you see, it’s a bit inconvenient for

to get around Europe. Do you happen to have a spare car? I could borrow it for a bit. I promise I’ll return it later!"

At that mont, Spencer desperately wanted to grab Ye Fan by the collar and scream at him. Stop making promises! They’re worthless! If you want the car, just say so! I hate it when you beat around the bush.

Instead, he said, "King of Heaven, my friend, you don’t have to make it sound so pathetic. Just tell

what kind of car you want. Sports cars, sedans, stretched limos, RVs... I’ve got them all."

"Nah, forget it. Those aren’t practical, and the practical ones are ugly. I think your LaFerrari looks pretty good. Let

borrow it for a few days!" Ye Fan said nonchalantly.

Spencer was speechless. He had seen this coming, but it was still a bit much. This was his brand-new ride! While it wasn’t the absolute top-of-the-line vehicle in his collection, it was still special.

"Since you like it, Brother, then take it!" he said through gritted teeth.

"Oh, I couldn’t possibly!" Ye Fan said, figuring he should at least feign so modesty, even if the deal was done. Otherwise, people might think he had no sha. Of course, he’d lost all semblance of sha five years ago.

If Spencer thought he could win a fight against Ye Fan, he would have punched him square on the nose to show him a world of hurt and make him understand the real aning of "I couldn’t possibly!" But for now, he had to maintain his calm and generous facade.

"It’s nothing," he said with an air of magnanimity. "Our friendship is stronger than any car."

"In that case, thanks a lot, my brother."

Ye Fan promptly shooed Spencer and his n out of the car. "See you another day! I’m really swamped today, no ti to spare!"

The next thing they heard was the roar of the engine. By the ti they processed what was happening, Ye Fan was already hundreds of ters down the road.

"You could at least give us a ride back first!" Spencer yelled in frustration. Now, he, his driver, and his bodyguard were left standing there, utterly dumbfounded.

His driver ekly asked, "Boss, should I... should I call the company to send a car for us?"

"Of course you should! Why the hell are you asking so many stupid questions!" Spencer snapped. He didn’t dare yell at Ye Fan, but he had no problem taking it out on his driver, whom he proceeded to curse out thoroughly.

After a mont, Spencer sighed. "Ah, forget it. Let’s just hail a cab."

Seeing Spencer in this state, his driver thought to himself, What’s with the act? He can’t even afford a car, yet he’s dragging around two bodyguards. Has he no sha? How embarrassing.

Of course, the driver had no idea that Spencer’s prized car and a hefty sum of his money had just been thoroughly plundered by Ye Fan. Even though Ye Fan had just barreled through Spencer’s life like a bandit, it didn’t fundantally affect their friendship. After all, without Ye Fan, Spencer’s life wouldn’t be nearly as comfortable as it was.
