Chapter 27: Shoot ?

"Backup backpack?" Selina tilted her head, looking at him in confusion.

Rover said softly, "If the zombie hunt goes smoothly, then the supplies that drop from dead zombies will be a lot. Our backpack capacity is limited—we can’t keep filling it, then run back to the room, then go out again. That would waste a huge amount of ti."

"I found a function: private trading. As long as we open a trade window with soone, unless both sides close it, we can keep trading continuously without interruption."

Selina imdiately understood. She hurriedly said, "Master, you an... you pick up supplies outside and transfer them to , and I sort and store them in the room, right?"

"Exactly." Rover smiled, his hand squeezing Selina’s breast lightly.

"Mm... Master..." Selina pressed her lips together, her cheeks faintly flushed. Not only did she not resist—she even pushed her chest forward a little, making it easier for him to knead her soft breasts.

Rover chuckled. "Even if I’m not afraid of being ambushed, I’m worried that during movent, the leftover supplies might get stolen. That’s why we need soone in charge of storage."

Selina knew that right now, this was the only thing she could do, so she nodded imdiately. "Understood, Master."

She also kissed his cheek lightly, then smiled at him, visibly pleased.

Rover enjoyed being pampered by the two beauties and slowly finished breakfast.

[Round 2 of the event ’Zombie Raid’ will begin in: 10 seconds. Please prepare.]

Rover stood at the door. He wasn’t afraid or anxious at all—if anything, he felt a faint sense of anticipation.

Then...

[Round 2 of the event ’Zombie Raid’ has begun!]

In the next instant, the howls of zombies echoed down the corridor, and a swarm of zombies suddenly appeared outside.

However, this ti was different from the last. There were far more zombies—over twenty of them crowded and blocked the space in front of his door.

Even more astonishing...

Rover saw that his door was wrapped in a layer of blood-colored mist.

The mist was thin, yet it reeked of blood, as if it were luring the zombies to rush at his room.

Nanoe spoke up. "Rover, that’s probably the effect of the [Blood Mark]. Because we killed a few people, these zombies are skipping other rooms and directly attacking ours."

Rover laughed. "Even better. We won’t need to go out and look for zombies. Nanoe, get ready!"

"Mhm!" Nanoe nodded, but she suddenly stepped closer and smiled. "Give

a bit of luck."

Rover shook his head with a smile, thinking Nanoe was way too calm. Zombies were screaming and pounding at the door outside, yet she could still tease him.

He didn’t refuse. He wrapped an arm around Nanoe’s waist, then lowered his head and kissed her lips.

Nanoe hooked her arms around Rover’s neck, holding him tightly as she devoured his mouth. She even went a little wild—sticking out her tongue to lick his lips, then moving down to his neck, kissing it and leaving a strawberry mark before finally letting go, satisfied.

Rover nodded, his expression turning serious. "I’ll open the door."

"Then you only need to open it for a few seconds," Nanoe said. "I don’t know how strong this gun really is. I need to test it to gauge the power."

Rover replied, "Mhm. Got it."

He looked at the door. Even though it was being attacked by the zombies, it still stood firm. Its durability hadn’t dropped at all.

’Looks like... next ti I should prioritize upgrading the door. That’ll be safer.’ he thought.

In truth, he had planned to upgrade the bed, but right now, he felt the door was more important.

If the door still stood, he could take his ti upgrading other things.

If the door fell, he would die.

Rover sat beside Nanoe and glanced at her.

She nodded, and then...

Crack!

The door swung open. The zombies, their bodies heavily decomposed, tried to surge in, but were imdiately blocked by the wall of light.

In that instant, Nanoe aid the muzzle straight at the swarm and pulled the trigger.

BANG!

BOOM!

The sound of the bullet leaving the barrel rang almost at the sa ti as a deafening explosion.

Nanoe, Selina, and Rover all flinched when they saw the bullet detonate—instantly blasting the zombies at the doorway apart.

Although she did not kill the entire horde, the single bullet Nanoe had just fired blew the heads off at least three zombies. The rest were knocked to either side by the blast and were slowly crawling back toward the doorway.

"This..." Nanoe’s mouth fell open, her face full of disbelief. "Is this still a pistol?"

Selina’s eyes widened too, so shocked she could not say a word.

Rover was different. Joy surged wildly in his chest as he thought, ’Good thing I chose to upgrade the [Pistol]. Otherwise, we never would’ve gotten this result.’

Rover laughed. "No need to close the door, Nanoe. Kill them all."

Nanoe nodded and began her hunt.

Her grip was steady, and with Rover’s upgrade, the recoil was only on the level of a normal pistol, yet the firepower was terrifying.

In less than twenty seconds, Nanoe cleared every zombie in front of the door.

"Let’s go," Rover said. "Nanoe, cover . I’ll pick up the loot."

Nanoe nodded. She looked outside, confird there was no imdiate danger, then signaled Rover.

Rover walked out slowly. The floor was covered in blood, shredded flesh, and supplies wrapped in a clean white glow. His heart soared.

He started collecting the supplies, but at the sa ti, the survivors in the other rooms saw the scene as well.

Suddenly...

Crack!

A door near Rover’s room opened, Room 2708.

A man and a woman rushed out, snatched a box of crackers, a bottle of water, and a bag of sandwich bread that had dropped from the zombies, then hurried back into their room.

"Fuck!" Rover cursed the mont he saw it. "You dare steal right in front of ?"

Nanoe was startled too, but they moved too fast. Before she could even decide whether to shoot them, they were already back inside.

Rover did not hesitate. He tried to scoop up everything on the ground as quickly as possible.

However, it was as if the pair from Room 2708 had given everyone else courage.

The doors of the remaining survivors flew open as well. A crowd surged out into the corridor, scrambling to grab supplies from the dead zombies.

"What?!" Rover’s face darkened to the extre.

They looked like starving madn. They imdiately shoved and fought each other, frantically scooping up everything on the ground, then sprinting back into their rooms.

"Stop!" Rover shouted when he saw a bald man with frightening tattoos and a wiry fra snatch a scroll off the floor.

The crowd stared at him, eyes bloodshot, as if both furious and jealous.

"Who the hell are you to stop us?"

"Yeah, you’ve got so much food. What’s wrong with sharing a little?"

"Selfish bastard! You’re full, so what about everyone else?"

Rover frowned and signaled Nanoe to aim the muzzle straight at the bald man.

The bald man did not dare move. He glared at Rover with a mix of rage, madness, and fear.

He roared, "Motherfucker! What are you trying to do? Shoot ?"

He stepped up to Rover, pointing at his own bald head as he snarled, "Right here! Shoot

in the head, right here!"

Rover said coldly, "Put the scroll down. Then get lost."

"Fuck you!" The bald man seed fearless. He bellowed, "What the hell are you? Do you even know who I am? If you’ve got the balls, then shoot ! Right here, this is my head, shoot it!"

"I’m not saying it twice," Rover said, his voice turning colder.

The bald man did not care. His expression was vicious as he clenched the scroll in his hand, with no intention of letting go. "I’m keeping it. So what? What are you gonna do, you little piece of shit!"

As he spoke, he spat a wad of phlegm onto the floor. "So you’ve got a gun, huh? If you’ve got the guts, kill ! Kill everyone here!"

He patted Rover’s chest a few tis, provoking him. "Brat. Leave others a way out and you’ll have a chance to live later too. Otherwise..."

He glanced at Nanoe, his eyes full of greed and lust, then looked back at Rover with contempt. "I’ll fuck your bitch to death, then chop you into pieces, and every day I’ll toss one piece to the zombies."

He curled his lips into a sneer, then tightened his grip on the scroll and said with a grin, "Activate..."

BANG!

"AGH!!!"
