Chapter 150: The Information
Jonathan trembled upon hearing that. His gaze toward Nanoe carried a trace of longing and greed, but that emotion was quickly concealed, leaving only fear and unease.
Nanoe did not give Jonathan any opportunity to approach, as if she were the moon high in the sky, forever out of reach.
The gap between them kept widening. By now, he believed that even if he used that thing, he still would not be able to buy Nanoe from Rover.
Jonathan struggled to stand up. On the side where his arm had been severed, the wound had not healed, causing sharp pain.
Clutching his severed arm, he stared at Nanoe and asked softly, "Nanoe, do I really have no chance at all?"
Nanoe glanced at him, then turned her gaze away.
No words were spoken, yet it conveyed everything. She did not bother speaking because Jonathan was not soone worthy of her words.
Jonathan naturally understood. He clenched his fists tightly, his eyes filled with hatred and jealousy.
He glanced at Nanoe, then at the door of room 2705, and finally turned and left.
Selina smiled and said, "Sister Nanoe, you’re really not going to kill him?"
"No need!" Nanoe shook her head. "He still has so use. It’s better to let him live. If he becos too troubleso, you can kill him."
Selina nodded. Of course, that was sothing she could do without any difficulty.
Nanoe then looked at the man sitting on the ground, his hand covering the hole in his shoulder as blood continued to flow.
"Are you a Tenant or an Owner?" Nanoe asked.
The man sighed and said, "If I tell the truth, will you let
live?"
Nanoe smiled mysteriously. "That depends on your attitude... and my mood."
The man took a deep breath and began to tell everything.
After listening, Nanoe nodded slightly, organizing the information in her mind.
To be precise, he had once been a Survivor, but later he could not survive on his own, so he chose to beco soone else’s Tenant.
That person later died, and after becoming a Tenant for several others, he was fortunate enough to be accepted by a very powerful Owner.
However, his new Master had already reached Level 6, separated from the apartnt building, and built his own territory. Therefore, his status was no longer exactly a Tenant, but more like an ordinary soldier assigned with the task of finding apartnt buildings with new players.
Why?
Because his Master wanted to attack such apartnt buildings to seize resources.
Of course, his Master only wanted resources and did not intend to kill too many people, because even if one established a separate territory, they would still be affected by the ’Blood Mark’.
After hearing this, Nanoe glanced at the man and asked, "Then... how many people like you are there?"
The man answered honestly, "Around 80 people. But above us are captains. There are 8 captains, each leading 10 soldiers."
"Above the captains are commanders, who lead the entire army, and finally, our true Master."
Nanoe frowned upon hearing this. The number was too large.
Rover’s room could currently only hold a maximum of 7 Tenants, yet that person could command over 80 people.
That ant if an Owner built their own territory, they could form an entire army.
Nanoe stored this information carefully in her mind.
She continued, "How strong are your captains and commanders?"
The man replied, "Captains are a bit stronger than , but better equipped. As for commanders, their strength is probably equal to yours. They can fight ten people like
alone."
Nanoe inwardly scoffed, but her face remained expressionless.
After all, Selina had only used raw strength earlier and had not even used her signature skills.
Moreover, Selina had not gone all out and deliberately left this man alive to extract information.
If his words were true, then commanders were not too terrifying. However, what concerned them was the equipnt he ntioned.
Nanoe asked, "Are your equipnts purchased from the supermarket or dropped from monsters you killed?"
The man shook his head. "No! The equipnt I’m wearing is provided by the territory’s forge. There is a structure there dedicated to producing equipnt."
Nanoe frowned slightly and continued, "What other structures exist in your territory? How do you obtain them?"
"That..." the man hesitated. "How would I know? I can only stay in an isolated area. I’m not allowed to go deep into the territory."
Nanoe nodded and asked, "Then... do you still have the basic System functions?"
"Yes!" the man replied. "It’s the sa as before, just that... if I die, everything in my backpack will be taken by the Owner. Or... he can take everything from
whenever he wants."
Nanoe rubbed her chin, thought for a mont, then asked, "Where is your territory located?"
"Not far from here." the man said. "About two days of travel."
Nanoe frowned and asked softly, "With so much fog outside, how do you travel?"
The man said, "Actually, we have an item called the Fog Lighthouse. But only the captains have it."
"When traveling, we move together with the captain. Once we reach a location where it’s no longer needed, like this apartnt building, they separate soldiers like . After the required ti, the captains will return to a designated eting point to pick us up."
After hearing this, Nanoe could roughly understand how these people operated.
It seed that Level 6 Survivors or higher had completely changed their mode of operation.
Nanoe waved her hand, and a stream of pink light entered the man’s body.
He trembled slightly, then his eyes turned pink. The fear on his face vanished instantly, replaced by greed and madness.
He no longer cared about the wound on his shoulder. He knelt on the ground, lowered his head, and said respectfully, "Master!"
Seeing this, Selina imdiately exclaid, "Wow! Nanoe, you can actually control him?"
Nanoe shrugged. "I’ve developed my talent further. I can freely turn it on or off now, and even use it to control others."
"Of course, the prerequisite is that their Spirit must be far lower than mine for the success rate to be high."
After saying that, Nanoe waved her hand. The man stood up, walked toward the end of the corridor, and disappeared around the corner.
"You let him go?" Selina frowned.
Nanoe shook her head. "There’s still too much information we don’t know. I want to keep him around to extract more information."
"The more information we have, the more optimal and precise our choices will be. Whether it’s developing a territory or staying in this apartnt building."
"However, we must base our decision on Rover’s and our actual conditions. We don’t choose the best option, we choose the most suitable one."
Selina nodded, then her gaze shifted toward Leng Yan’s room.
Nanoe patted her shoulder lightly and smiled. "Leng Yan is one of us. She can be trusted."
Selina nodded, fully trusting Nanoe. In this room, perhaps... the one most adept at controlling emotions and understanding people was Nanoe.
Her words were unlikely to be wrong, or even if they were, the margin of error would be small.
"What should we do now?" Selina asked.
Nanoe glanced at the others in the room, then said, "Of course... we go shopping."
...
The supermarket was already in chaos.
Ad blended into the crowd, watching a group of armored n blocking the entrance.
Damon stood at the front, leading a group of people to confront those armored figures that looked like they ca from a sci-fi war movie.
Ad licked his lips, his gaze fixed on a man standing behind that group.
While the others wore gray armor, rough and battle-worn, that man’s armor was black.
He did not wear a helt. His square face was firm, his head shaved, and his gaze swept around as if looking at ants.
Ad licked his lips, his eyes filled with greed, like a venomous snake staring at its prey.
"Damn it!" Damon laughed wildly. "Level 6 Survivors? You think wearing that flimsy armor ans you can beat ?"
"Then... let
see just how strong a Level 6 Survivor is..."
As soon as he finished speaking, his body transford into a giant smoke monster like a genie, over five ters tall, nearly touching the supermarket ceiling.
The people following him also laughed viciously, as if they did not take those armored Level 6 Survivors seriously at all.
At that mont, a woman stepped forward, her face showing excitent as she looked at the armored group.
"Even though you’re Level 6 Survivors, you’re just soone else’s dogs. You haven’t truly reached Level 6. With that armor, you still can’t fight all of us."
She smiled and said, "I have an idea... we’re all Survivors, just trying to survive in this crazy world. So... let’s each take a step back."
"Leave behind all your armor and everything you have. I’ll allow you to stay here, even use the supermarket. It benefits both sides."
The man in black armor frowned and sneered disdainfully. "Don’t talk to , you lowly trash."
The woman’s expression turned cold. She smiled and said, "What a pity. I thought we could have a sweet conversation."
"I’ll give you one last chance... man, if you entertain
a little, I might let you beco my dog."
She waved her hand, and Damon’s smoke body was imdiately covered in a layer of shining tal, making him look extrely sturdy.
The man in black armor showed no expression, only a faint sneer of disdain.
He slowly stood up. His two-ter-tall body, combined with the armor, made him look like a human-shaped tank.
"It seems..." he said, his voice heavy and terrifying, "When the tiger doesn’t roar, you all think I’m Hello Kitty!"
