Chapter 245: Chapter 157: Got Sothing Good
[Yes] / [No]
—
Cheng Zongyang thought for a mont and chose [Yes].
’My location is bound to be the center of my future explorations. Now that I have the wilderness map, I won’t have to blindly guess where I am!’
Instantly, patterns of mountains, terrain, and the courses of rivers began to appear on the blank animal hide.
In no more than ten breaths, a complete map materialized before him!
It was rather abstract, however.
His location was marked in the center, but there was no other text—just various illustrations of mountains and rivers, which were lifelike, at least.
He couldn’t be bothered to complain and instead observed it carefully.
To the south, the map showed an ocean! His own location was near the coast, though set back a bit.
Cheng Zongyang’s gaze shifted north. There were mountains, and beyond them lay vast plains, valleys, hills, and rivers.
This five-kiloter area was, for all intents and purposes, a coastal region. As for any more specific details, he had no way of knowing.
’Not bad. At least I know my general location.’
Cheng Zongyang was satisfied. He could simply expand the map’s view as he explored later. Since he hadn’t expanded his territory yet, there was no point in doing so now.
He put the map aside and finally turned his attention to the sapphire-like object.

Cheng Zongyang frowned at the information floating above the Beastman Essence.
’This thing wasn’t cheap, but its limitations are severe. After fusion, the target becos a Puppet with no independent thought, only capable of obeying commands.’
He took the item and walked outside. He needed to decide whether to use it on a person or an animal.
Outside, Ma San and the others were still tirelessly tending to the rice seedlings, but a series of "SQUEAK SQUEAK" sounds once again caught his attention.
He walked over to the right, toward the warehouse entrance. A large wooden cage hung suspended off the ground, and inside were four creatures the size of puppies.
’Are these... moles?’ Cheng Zongyang peered at them and was able to identify them.
He had seen plenty of them in the mountains. They were master burrowers!
However, looking at the four moles, which didn’t have much at on them, Cheng Zongyang couldn’t help but walk over to Ma San and the others to ask.
"When did you catch those moles? There isn’t much at on them."
"Sir," Luo Zheng was the one who answered. He set down the rice seedling in his hand and replied,
"I was planning on trying to dosticate them. If I’m successful, they could save us a lot of ti digging out caves or cellars for storage. After all, we’ll eventually need plenty of warehouses for crops, dried fish, and jerky."
"Dig out caves?" Cheng Zongyang glanced back at the four little creatures and asked dubiously, "With sothing that size? Are you sure?"
Luo Zheng smiled. "We can just have them burrow in a grid-like pattern. We’ll just have to do the final loosening and shoveling. It will save ti and effort."
After hearing Luo Zheng’s explanation, he had to admit it was a good idea. As the Wilderness Rice and other crops began to mature, they would naturally need more and more storage space.
In that case, digging caves was a better solution. They were convenient, waterproof, and windproof.
However, at this thought, Cheng Zongyang’s eyes suddenly lit up.
’Caves! Cellars!’
Cheng Zongyang looked at the Beastman Essence in his hand. He’d thought of a use for it.
’Using it on a person seems unnecessary. I don’t need a Puppet. But if I had a Puppet capable of Digging Mountains and Earth, that would be a different story!’
It would be a great assistant in the future for digging wells, caves, cellars, Earthly Dao, or mines.
With this in mind, Cheng Zongyang said to Luo Zheng, "I’m taking one for an experint."
"Of course, Sir. Take what you need," Luo Zheng said.
So, Cheng Zongyang walked over to the wooden cage and opened the hatch on top. He ignored the small creatures’ struggles and terrified cries, grabbing the largest and most energetic one and bringing it to the open area in front of the hut.
He looked at the essence in his left hand, then glanced at the mole in his right, and muttered,
"Whether this turns out to be a great fortune for you... well, that’s up to your luck."
Then, he placed the essence on the mole’s head!
