Chapter 167: Chapter 127: Another Update? Three Things
「That day, at dusk.」
Cheng Zongyang led everyone back to the Inner Mountain Pass.
Their haul this ti was ager: just one small wild boar and a few pheasants.
Cheng Zongyang had been the one to kill the pheasants. The trip had revealed many problems to him.
In addition to learning the ways of the mountains, they also needed to learn proper hunting techniques.
Their wild Archery and haphazard spear-throwing all required training. But these were issues that could be fixed with practice and weren’t major problems.
Despite the small catch, everyone was in high spirits upon their return, acting as if they had made a huge haul.
The boar and pheasants were placed in the storeroom, and Cheng Zongyang had the twenty n divide the Contribution Points equally among themselves.
Each of the twenty n received sixteen Contribution Points.
The pheasants were already dead; only the small boar was still alive. Weighing around thirty jin, it could be raised for a while longer.
After dismissing the others, Cheng Zongyang spoke to his uncle. "Uncle, please have soone make so wooden posts to use as targets later. Then, I’ll have to trouble you to teach them how to practice their Archery and how to throw the Wooden Spears. They need to learn the proper technique, not just hurl them randomly."
His uncle had experience in the mountains and knew Archery. He naturally understood these Skills. Although his own Archery was limited, it was more than enough to teach beginners.
Zhou Hanchang agreed. "I’ll have soone get those made. We’ll intensify their training over the next few days. As for the teaching... I, I’ll give it a shot."
After they went their separate ways, Cheng Zongyang entered his house, only to find his little sister bawling in their mother’s arms.
Seeing this, Cheng Zongyang couldn’t help but chuckle. "Mom, what happened?"
At the sound of Cheng Zongyang’s voice, the little girl imdiately stood up. With tear-filled eyes and a deeply wronged expression, she looked at her big brother, then opened her arms and ran to him.
"Big Brother!"
Cheng Zongyang squatted down and let his little sister throw herself into his arms, where she began to sob quietly. The more she cried, the more heartbroken she seed to beco.
Watching them, Mrs. Zhou of the Cheng Family got up to straighten so clothes and said with a sigh of resignation:
"This girl insisted on learning how to play with a Wooden Sword from her cousin, Xiaoxiao. Then she took the little Wooden Sword your father made for her to go play with a lamb, and the lamb knocked her right over with a headbutt. She’s been crying ever since."
After his mother finished speaking, Cheng Zongyang pictured the scene: the little lamb in the pen headbutting his sister, who then plopped onto the ground, looking completely stunned. He couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
His laughter was enough to make his little sister too embarrassed to cry. She pulled away from her big brother’s embrace, her little face flushed red with sha and anger. In a squeaky, childish voice, she yelled:
"Big Brother! I... I... You’re laughing at
too! I’m not playing with you anymore! WAAAH! Mom!!"
With that, she burst into tears again and turned to run to her mother.
"Hahaha, I’ll stop laughing. Hahaha..." Cheng Zongyang caught his little sister with one hand and stifled his amusent. "Alright, alright. How about Big Brother tells you a story, hmm?"
The ntion of a story made her stop crying at once. Sniffling, she asked, "What... what kind of story?"
Cheng Zongyang replied, "The Foolish Old Man Who Moved the Mountains."
"But I’ve already heard that one."
"This version is different."
"Then... then can you tell just ?" the little girl asked, wiping her tears with the back of her hand.
Cheng Zongyang suppressed a smile. "Is it because the others were laughing at you earlier?"
The little girl nodded vigorously, her voice a mix of anger and excitent. "Once I’ve morized it, I’ll... I’ll tell them about it! I’ll... I’ll make them so jealous!"
Behind them, Mrs. Zhou of the Cheng Family shot her young daughter a speechless look, glared at her son, then left the room, unable to bear watching them any longer.
Cheng Zongyang patted his little sister’s head. "Okay, Big Brother will tell only you. Then you can go and make them all super jealous!"
"Okay, okay!"
Cheng Zongyang repeated the story for his little sister a few tis. Once she had it down, she scurried outside on her short little legs, shouting for her older siblings.
After dinner, Cheng Zongyang saw the younger children all gathered around his little sister. He couldn’t help but smile at her excited expression.
As night fell, the baths began. It was once again ti for the children’s screaming during the Foundation Establishnt dicine Bath, after which it would be the adults’ turn.
After using the newly concocted Ginseng Wine with his dicine bath, Cheng Zongyang’s proficiency gain remained at forty points.
This was the sa ginseng that had been dug up from the Ghost-faced Spider’s lair. It had been appraised as having a dicinal age of eighty-six years; while not quite a century old, its effects were still excellent.
He then made an excuse about heading back into the mountains and entered the Wilderness World.
The mont he materialized in the cabin, several notification windows popped up before him:
[Xu Yang has slain a gray wolf. Points

[Luo Zheng has slain a gray wolf. Points

[Purchase Request fulfilled...]
[Cabin’s total transaction volu has reached 10,000 Points. Initiating cabin update. Approximate duration: 144 hours. Ti remaining: 129:35:43]
Seven windows had appeared in succession, causing Cheng Zongyang to pause. He dismissed the first five.
’Ma San and the other three go out hunting periodically, and it’s not the first ti they’ve brought back creatures that can be raised. Nothing surprising there.’
The last two notifications, however, genuinely surprised him.
’I didn’t expect the purchase request I posted yesterday would already be fulfilled today. Does this an no one has small Wilderness Beans, or no one is willing to trade them? Only dium-sized and up?’
’This also proves my experint was a success. Not only do dium ones exist, but there are large ones too.’
’And the fact that the trade happened so quickly ans the price I offered was decent. Maybe I can try to lower it a bit next ti?’
There was a wooden box sitting on the counter. Resisting the urge to check it imdiately, Cheng Zongyang turned his attention to the final notification.
’The second cabin update is already happening so soon. But isn’t this duration a little long?’
