Chapter 124: Chapter 109: Hut Update (Part 2)
"Hahaha." Everyone laughed heartily.
Cheng Zongyang didn’t think much of it. He had, of course, seen the teor shower from a few years ago, but it hadn’t landed here. It had co down over in Linchuan.
Everyone got to work, and clearing the ten acres of land went quite quickly.
Cheng Zongyang was in charge of felling the trees and dragging them away. Zhou Zhenyuan and the others worked with the adults to clear the stumps and roots.
The won cleared the dead branches and fallen leaves from the ground, which could all be burned into wood ash to enrich the soil.
「Two days passed in the blink of an eye.」
Many hands make light work, and the ten acres of farmland were more or less cleared.
The resulting ash was mixed into the soil. The next steps were to divert water to flood the field, plow it into a paddy, and let it sit until next year, by which ti it would be fully ford.
Cheng Zongyang didn’t get involved in these tasks. Instead, he prepared to head into the Inner Mountain, planning to bring back those wild piglets on his way out.
Of course, his main objective was to check for updates in the Marketplace Cabin.
"Big Brother, be careful!" The little girl and the other younger children waved at Cheng Zongyang.
Cheng Zongyang smiled back. "Don’t worry. I’ll bring back so little wild pigs for you to raise."
"Mhm," the little girl nodded earnestly.
He entered the Inner Mountain and, from a hidden area, crossed into the Wilderness World.
He hadn’t been inside for two days, and he found that the Marketplace Cabin had undergone a major transformation.
The cabin’s size hadn’t changed, but its style had gone from dilapidated to brand-new.
A new counter, new cabinets, a new wooden bed, a new stool.
Everything was new.
The sight was very pleasing to Cheng Zongyang. The only issue was the corpse of a black-clothed man still tied to the wall next to the counter, covered by an animal hide. It would have been a disgusting sight otherwise.
If it weren’t for the cabin’s preservation function, the body would have started to stink long ago.
The corpse of an Eighth Grade Martial Artist was a rare find, so he kept it just in case. If a Soul Crystal Stone were to spawn again, it would be useful.
He glanced outside. Not far away, Ma San was still clearing the land, and he was nearly finished.
After only a few glances, he imdiately shifted his attention to the item column.
’This is what’s most important.’
The item column still had three slots. He focused on an item, and its information appeared.
——
[Durian]
Description: A type of fruit. Those who like it, love it. Those who don’t, think it’s crap.
Quantity: 10 (catties)
Points: 1
——
[Three-Yellow Chick]
Description: A native chicken breed with yellow feathers, yellow skin, and yellow legs. The at is tender and nutritious.
Quantity: 20 (pairs)
Points: 5
——
[Wilderness Ox Calf]
Description: A docile breed of cattle from the Shuiyun Plain in the Wilderness World. The at is tender and nutritious.
Quantity: 1 (pair)
Points: 50
——
Seeing that the newly spawned items didn’t include the Martial Arts Techniques he was hoping for, he felt a little disappointed.
’Still, getting chickens and cattle isn’t bad.’
The family needed cattle for plowing, so this would solve a lot of problems. And once the chicks grew up and started breeding, they would add more variety to the family’s diet.
’I’ll pass on the durian. That stuff is really hard to eat.’
As for the chicks and calves, he wasn’t in a hurry to buy them. He didn’t have anywhere to put them yet.
Then, he looked over at the acquisition column and the quest log.
The acquisition column was the sa as before; the Points offered for large creatures were still absurd. However, he noticed that the column itself had changed.
Next to it was a new section—the Request Column.
As he looked at it, a new notification popped up.
[Marketplace Cabin Level is currently: Level 1. Request Column feature added.]
[You may spend Points here to request items you need.
You may post one request every three days. Posting requires a fee of 10 Points, plus a 20% down paynt on the transaction’s Point value. Once posted, a request cannot be modified or withdrawn and will be automatically removed when the ti expires.
If the requested trade fails, the fee and the Acquisition Points will be refunded.
Example: To post a request for a trade worth 100 Points, you must deposit 10
100
20 Points into the platform. If the trade is successful, nothing is returned. If the trade fails, 120 Points will be refunded.
Note: Only products from within the Wilderness World can be requested. Other items cannot be requested. The higher the cabin’s level, the lower the fee and the more requests you can post.]
After reading the notification, Cheng Zongyang understood.
’My previous suspicions were correct. Whether it’s the quest log or the acquisitions column, there have to be other system users on the other side. Otherwise, the Points values wouldn’t be so erratic, which also explains why they’re so absurd. I won’t bother wondering if there’s one, two, or even more of them; it’s aningless.’
’The Marketplace Cabin, or rather, the Stone Ring, is just a platform!’
’As for the item column, I figure it’s probably managed by the spirit of the Stone Ring.’
’But the request column is limited to items from within the Wilderness World. And here I was, thinking about getting a Gatling gun.’
"No wonder the items in the acquisitions column and quest log are almost all plants, animals, and minerals. But damn it, how am I supposed to know what products even exist in the Wilderness World!"
Cheng Zongyang was utterly speechless.
’Currently, the only products I know of are the ones that have appeared in the item column.’
Cheng Zongyang shook his head. ’I’ll just have to figure it out slowly later. But since it costs 10 Points to post a request that can’t be withdrawn or modified, I’ll have to think carefully before posting anything.’
He then summoned his status panel.
——

’This Wind-Stepping Step is really hard to practice.’
Cheng Zongyang shook his head, closed the interface, and looked back at the acquisitions column. He ignored the information on the new request feature, focusing only on the buy orders for fish.
