Chapter 184: Chapter 184: In Need of Aid

Jia Yeju was a disciple of the Stone Demon Sect, a Demon in the words of Spirit Refiners.

Jia Yeju, who was skilled at gathering intelligence, received a mission assigned specifically to him by his sect.

The sect needed him to infiltrate the Shen Family, a Foundation Establishnt Cultivation Clan, to gather information.

It was his first ti receiving a mission so deep into enemy territory, but he was confident in his thods.

However, sothing went wrong during his infiltration of the Shen Family’s core territory and he was discovered. Realizing his predicant, he didn’t hesitate to use a Secret Technique to create distance. He then fled while simultaneously using another technique to suppress his Demon Power.

But halfway through his escape, he was intercepted.

This Upper Grade Magical Artifact used by the Spirit Refiner was incredibly sinister. His own protective Demon Power was barely effective against it. After it pierced his hands, even his attempts to circulate Demon Power were impeded.

The Spirit Refiner who wielded this Upper Grade Magical Artifact then appeared.

Jia Yeju knew he was finished.

His opponent was an Inner Sect Disciple of the Celestial Cloud Sect, with a cultivation at the Qi Refining Ninth Layer.

Now, tied to a tree, he was completely at his captor’s rcy.

When Yang Yingjie learned that this was a Demon disciple from the Stone Demon Sect at the Qi Refining Seventh Layer, a wave of disappointnt washed over him.

’It would have been so much better if this guy was a disciple of the Celestial Demon Sect.’

He wasn’t particularly interested in a re disciple of a Foundation Establishnt Evil Path Sect.

"Alright, spit it out. What are you doing here?" Yang Yingjie asked.

The Demon from the Stone Demon Sect just snorted and didn’t answer his question.

Yang Yingjie was just trying his luck. He wasn’t surprised that the Stone Demon Sect Demon didn’t answer.

He wasn’t skilled at interrogation.

Judging by so of the features on the Demon before him, he could roughly guess the Demon Beast bloodline he had transplanted. It was quite difficult to extract information from those who had transplanted such bloodlines.

Many of a Demon’s personality traits were ford under the influence of the transplanted Demon Beast bloodline.

"If you won’t talk, then you can die."

A Demon from a sect other than the Celestial Demon Sect at the Qi Refining Seventh Layer could be exchanged for forty Contribution Points.

For Yang Yingjie, this was still an unexpected gain.

If this had been a Demon from the Celestial Demon Sect, he might have had the patience to interrogate him for a bit. But for one from the Stone Demon Sect, he couldn’t be bothered.

Just as Yang Yingjie was about to finish off the Qi Refining Seventh Layer Demon from the Stone Demon Sect...

He felt a distinct fluctuation of Spiritual Power heading his way.

Before long, he saw an old man at the Qi Refining Tenth Layer approaching, flanked by two middle-aged cultivators. One of the middle-aged cultivators was at the Qi Refining Seventh Layer, the other at the Eighth Layer.

"Young friend from the Upper Sect, I am Shen Xingchen. May I ask your na?"

The Shen Family elder glanced at the Demon pinned to the tree before turning to Yang Yingjie, bowing slightly as he asked with a smile.

Yang Yingjie returned the bow and stated his na.

"Yang Yingjie."

"Ah, so it is young friend Yingjie. This Demon from the Stone Demon Sect is a target our Shen Family was pursuing. We thank you, young friend Yingjie, for capturing him alive."

As the Shen Family elder spoke, he imdiately took out so Spirit Stones from his Storage Pouch.

"Here are eighty Lower Grade Spirit Stones. Please consider them a reward for your troubles, young friend."

"Alright." Yang Yingjie thought for a mont before accepting the Spirit Stones.

Apparently, this Shen Family elder knew how many Contribution Points a Celestial Cloud Sect disciple would get for killing a Demon, and he had offered double the value.

Yang Yingjie was naturally quite happy to turn forty Contribution Points into eighty Lower Grade Spirit Stones.

"Get ready to restrain him yourselves."

"Thank you, young friend," the Shen Family elder said gratefully once more. The two middle-aged cultivators from the Shen Family behind him also bowed.

As Yang Yingjie retrieved his Red Spot Long Sword and the black rope, the Shen Family elder took out a giant net and cast it over the Stone Demon Sect Demon.

The giant net was a peak-grade magical artifact.

The Shen Family elder was certainly cautious.

Yang Yingjie didn’t chat with them for long. He soon bid farewell to the three from the Shen Family and headed toward Celestial Demon Sect territory to carry out his mission.

Before entering the Celestial Demon Sect’s territory, the first thing he had to do was change his clothes.

...

「Celestial Cloud Sect.」

「Battle Peak.」

A Spirit Ship was now approaching from a distance.

"Look, it’s a Spirit Ship!"

"They’re back."

"The senior brothers and sisters from the Four-Sect Trials are back!"

There were no disciples engaged in their usual Magical Combat spars on Battle Peak; they were all waiting for the return of the Spirit Ship from the Four-Sect Trials.

Barring any accidents on the journey to or from the Four-Sect Trials, the Spirit Ship was expected to return this morning.

The Spirit Ship’s appearance ant that, at the very least, the journey had been smooth.

The disciples currently waiting on Battle Peak were all eager to know how their sect had perford in this year’s Four-Sect Trials.

The Spirit Ship descended.

Feng Tianrui looked at the disciples below, understanding what they were eager to hear.

Soon, his booming voice echoed across all of Battle Peak.

"In the Four-Sect Trials, our sect has placed first!"

"Among the disciples who ranked in the top ten for individual scores are Fang Yun, Yuan Yunfan, Wu Junxin, and Song Qiaoqiao."

"Furthermore, the first-place winner, Fang Yun, scored one hundred and seventy-five points, setting a new all-ti record for the Four-Sect Trials!"

Feng Tianrui briefly announced the results of the Four-Sect Trials.

He made sure to emphasize Fang Yun’s achievents.

Especially the fact that Fang Yun had broken the all-ti record for the Four-Sect Trials.

The mont his booming voice stopped, a torrent of discussion erupted from below.

The focus of their conversations was, naturally, Fang Yun.

"Junior Brother Fang is only at the Qi Refining Ninth Layer, just what level has his strength reached? He even broke the all-ti record for the Four-Sect Trials!"

"I thought Junior Brother Fang might get first place, but I never imagined he’d also break the record! He’s truly incredible!"

"Say, does anyone know what the previous all-ti record for the Four-Sect Trials was?"

"No idea."

"I don’t know either."

"Who cares what the old record was? All we need to know now is that the one hundred and seventy-five points Junior Brother Fang scored is the new record for the Four-Sect Trials! We’ve all witnessed history!"

"From what I understand, in past Four-Sect Trials, anyone who scored ninety points was almost guaranteed to win first place. The all-ti record was probably around one hundred and twenty or one hundred and thirty points."

"Senior Brother, you’re really just guessing."

"Then what do you think it was?"

"Knowing the new record is enough for ."

While the Inner Sect Disciples were busy discussing Fang Yun’s new all-ti record for the Four-Sect Trials, so Outer Sect disciples were already chanting his na.

After learning about Fang Yun’s performance in the Four-Sect Trials, Zhou Hongchang left Battle Peak.

Fang Yun had been able to defeat him back when he was at the Qi Refining Eighth Layer. Now that he had gone to the Four-Sect Trials at the Qi Refining Ninth Layer, if he didn’t take first place, Zhou Hongchang would have simply attributed it to bad luck.

Now, knowing that Fang Yun’s results had exceeded all expectations, he could also start preparing for his second attempt at Foundation Establishnt.

Aboard the dium-sized Spirit Ship.

A mont ago, Feng Tianrui had received a ssage via a flash of spiritual light.

"Trouble already, and we’ve only just returned... Qin Ying, co with . Elder Su, I’ll leave the Spirit Ship arrangents to you."

"Yes."

"Master, did sothing happen?" Bai Qinying, who was standing beside him, couldn’t help but ask.

Feng Tianrui replied, "The Shen Family has run into so trouble and requires our assistance."
