Chapter 77: Chapter 76: Fighting for Justice
As the Lamborghini’s scissor doors opened, a delicate foot in a pair of exquisite flat-heeled sandals extended out, followed by a long, slender leg.
The re sight of that leg made all the male students watching perk up, their eyes glued to the car door.
Not far from the Lamborghini, four guys on their way to play basketball were among the crowd.
"Holy crap, it really is a girl! Driving a Lamborghini this cool, she must be drop-dead gorgeous. Man, I’d be happy just to say one word to her!"
Staring at the perfect leg, one of the guys holding a basketball smacked his lips and sighed in admiration.
"Pfft, why don’t you take a piss and look at your own reflection? You think a girl who can afford a sports car like that would talk to you? Third Bro, how about a bet? If the girl in the Lamborghini talks to you, I’ll wash your damn socks for a week. If she doesn’t, you wash mine for a week. How about it?"
"Haha, count
in! Third Bro, if she talks to you, your als are on
for the week. Of course, if she doesn’t, you’re paying for my als for a week. What do you say?"
Seeing this, the last of the four guys quickly chid in:
"Hey,
too! I’ll bet my five hundred gigs!"
’I can’t believe one little comnt got these animals all riled up against !’
’Are you kidding ? A girl like that would never give
the ti of day...’
But seeing the gloating expressions on their faces and thinking about the three tempting offers, Third Bro gritted his teeth.
"Fuck it, you’re on! You guys said it, so don’t you dare back out later!"
With that, Third Bro flicked his hair, shoved the basketball he was holding into Second Bro’s hands, puffed out his chest, and started walking toward the pink supercar.
Seeing this, his roommates were stunned. Their eyes went wide, not believing that the guy actually dared to go through with it.
Not only that, but a sudden realization struck the three of them. ’Holy shit, if Third Bro goes over there and she says even a single word to him—like "scram"—we still lose the bet!’
At this thought, the three exchanged a look, nodded, and imdiately sprinted after Third Bro like they were running a hundred-ter dash.
What’s more, the basketball in Second Bro’s hands flew ahead of them, hurtling toward Third Bro’s proudly strutting figure.
Third Bro was feeling smug. ’All I have to do is get her to say sothing, anything. Even if she tells
to get lost, I’ll still win big!’
The next mont, however, THUD! The basketball smacked squarely into his back, causing him to stagger.
Before he could react, his three friends tackled him from behind, slamming him to the ground.
At that mont, Third Bro was less than three ters from Bai nghan, who had just stepped out of her car.
Hearing the commotion behind her, Bai nghan casually closed the car door and looked over curiously. She saw three guys with goofy grins pinning another guy to the ground—one holding down his waist, another his legs, and the third clamping a hand over his mouth.
When the guy on the ground saw Bai nghan turn around, a series of muffled whimpers escaped his lips.
Seeing this, his roommates quickly clamped down, covering his mouth even more tightly.
Bai nghan’s brow furrowed at the sight. But before she could ask what was happening, Fang Chenyi, who had just gotten out of the passenger seat, was already rushing over.
Fang Chenyi strode up to them and his hands shot out, grabbing the collars of two of the guys on top. With a sudden exertion of force, he flung Second Bro and Fourth Bro to the ground.
"I fucking hate bullies," Fang Chenyi spat. "If you’ve got guts, fight one-on-one. Three against one is just cowardly bullshit."
As he cursed, he grabbed the collar of the last guy—Eldest Bro—and with another heave, shoved him away as well.
After tossing the three aside, Fang Chenyi offered a hand to the utterly dumbfounded Third Bro.
"Co on, get up."
Just then, Bai nghan walked over and took Fang Chenyi’s arm. She looked at Third Bro, whom Fang Chenyi had just pulled to his feet, and asked with a puzzled expression,
"Are you hurt?"
The mont she spoke, the three roommates lying on the ground all let out a long, collective sigh.
But when Fang Chenyi’s gaze fell on them, the three of them flinched in unison. Luckily, Third Bro hadn’t forgotten about his brothers. He shot a timid glance at Fang Chenyi and said in a small voice,
"B-Bro... um, you misunderstood. We’re actually roommates... just ssing around, we were just ssing around..."
Emm...
’I was trying to be a hero and help the little guy, and it turns out they’re just roommates screwing around. Damn it, wasn’t this just
sticking my nose where it didn’t belong?’
He walked over and pulled the three guys to their feet one by one, looking a little embarrassed. Fortunately, he’d figured they were students and hadn’t gotten too rough. It would have been bad if he’d actually hurt soone.
"Hey, my bad. I thought you guys were bullying him. You guys okay? Hurt anywhere? Should we get you to a hospital?" he asked, feeling he had to since he was the one who got physical.
"We’re fine, we’re fine! Really, bro! And, uh, thanks for going easy on us!"
But after hearing what Fang Chenyi said, the three of them frantically waved their hands. They now saw him clearly—this was the legend who had single-handedly taken down the entire Taekwondo club yesterday!
The surrounding students also started to recognize Fang Chenyi. In that instant, their opinion of this campus legend rose even higher. If for no other reason than the fact that, without knowing the full story, he had stepped in to help soone he thought was weak.
That alone was worthy of respect.
Seeing that they were really fine, Fang Chenyi didn’t press the issue. He offered them so money for their troubles, but they refused to take it no matter what. After a few more words, the four of them limped off toward the basketball court, ball in tow.
As the class bell rang, Bai nghan headed into the classroom.
Fang Chenyi shook his head helplessly, took out his phone, and called Wei Yilong. ’That guy was supposed to be dropping Su Tantan off. Why hasn’t he shown up yet? Don’t tell
he dragged her off sowhere to... you know...’
Just as he was wondering, the call connected.
"Hey, where the hell did you run off to?"
"Sigh... I’m at the gate of Yan University, Bro. The guard says I don’t have a pass and absolutely refuses to let
drive onto campus..."
