Chapter 109: Chapter 108: I Acquired Your Company
With that, he turned and fixed an icy glare on the young man leaning against his son’s car, arms crossed, enjoying the spectacle.
"Kid, are you the one who beat up my son?"
Fang Chenyi simply shrugged.
"That’s right, I beat up your son. But you should probably ask him what started it all."
But as soon as Fang Chenyi finished, Yue the Seventh coldly cut him off.
"Spare
the useless excuses. If my son was at fault, I’ll pay. Here." He held out a bank card. "There’s five hundred thousand on this card. That should be more than enough to cover his mistake, don’t you think?"
He took a bank card from his pocket and held it out to Fang Chenyi, continuing,
"But the fact that you laid a hand on my son? That’s not sothing we’re just going to let slide. Ma, call the company’s legal departnt. Tell them to contact the police and arrange for an official injury assessnt for Yue Jin."
The young man who had just gotten out of the passenger seat nodded, pulling out his phone to call the legal departnt.
At that mont, however, Fang Chenyi let out a short laugh.
"Heh. You’re not even trying to get the facts straight, are you? Five hundred thousand? I make more than that in an hour. Besides, the legal departnt belongs to the company. Do you really think it’s appropriate to use it for your personal errands?"
Fang Chenyi wasn’t bragging. By ’picking up scraps,’ even without any special bonuses, it wasn’t hard for him to pull in seven or eight hundred thousand in an hour.
As soon as he finished, Yue the Seventh sneered. "What a joke. It’s my company. I can order them to do whatever I want. So what? Do I need to report to you?"
To his surprise, Fang Chenyi nodded and replied in a perfectly serious tone,
"Actually, you do. After all, Yuejian Company answers to a Fang now, not a Yue."
His words amused not only Yue the Seventh, but also the onlookers who had gathered at a distance.
’Is there sothing wrong with this kid’s head? Claiming soone else’s company belongs to him? What a joke.’
RING RING RING~
But the next mont, before Yue the Seventh could say another word, the phone in his pocket began to ring.
He pulled it out and saw it was a call from one of his company’s vice presidents. Yue the Seventh frowned. ’Doesn’t he know I’m in the middle of dealing with my son’s situation?’
With that thought, he imdiately rejected the call.
He then looked up at the young man across from him as if he were an idiot.
"Kid, you’ve got a lot of nerve. Let
tell you, no matter what tall tales you spin today, you will be held responsible for your actions!"
While Yue the Seventh was speaking to Fang Chenyi, the phone belonging to Ma, his assistant, started ringing.
He took it out and saw it was a call from a company Vice President.
He glanced at his boss, took a couple of steps away for privacy, and answered the call.
But what the Vice President said on the other end of the line left him frozen in shock. When he snapped out of it, he rushed over to his boss, grabbed his sleeve, and said urgently,
"Chairman Yue! Chairman Yue! It’s Vice President Han, he’s looking for you! The company... the company..."
Annoyed at having his sleeve tugged by his subordinate, Yue the Seventh frowned, shot his assistant a harsh glare, and snatched the phone out of his hand. He put it to his ear and barked irritably,
"What could possibly be so important you have to report it to
now? I’m busy! Yeah, the company’s sold, so what if it’s sold? Just handle a small matter like that your... self... Wha—?? What did you just say? The company was sold?! Han Fei, this kind of joke isn’t funny in the slightest!"
On the other end of the line, Vice President Han Fei could only let out a wry sigh at his chairman’s disbelief. He chose his words carefully before speaking.
"Chairman, you should probably call your daughter to ask about it. The sale of the company was handled entirely by her. I only just received the news myself."
"Yue Yue? That’s impossible! How could Yue Yue do sothing like that!"
Vice President Han’s words left Yue the Seventh stunned. He refused to believe it; after all, he knew his eldest daughter’s character better than anyone.
His eldest daughter, now thirty-three, was still unmarried and had dedicated her life to her work. She had started in the company’s finance departnt, and her capabilities had always been exceptional. For the past two years, he had even promoted her to the position of First Vice President.
After becoming First Vice President, Yue Yue’s performance remained outstanding; she managed the company with perfect efficiency. If that hadn’t been the case, he would never have entrusted all of the company’s affairs, big and small, to her.
More recently, he had given her even more free rein, to the point where he rarely involved himself in managent at all, aside from a few major decisions.
And now, Vice President Han was telling him that Yue Yue had sold the company! How was that possible?
’Never mind whether Yue Yue would even do such a thing. Even if she wanted to, sothing as huge as selling the company would require my signature!’
"Heh. It seems you’re a real failure as a chairman," Fang Chenyi taunted. "A failure at raising your kids, and a failure at running your company. Your own company gets sold out from under you, and you’re the last to know. Tsk, tsk. Truly pathetic."
Hearing Fang Chenyi’s mockery, Yue the Seventh let out a cold snort. He had no ti to deal with him. Instead, he pulled out his own phone to call his daughter.
The line rang and rang.
However, no one picked up, making the sense of dread in his heart grow ever stronger.
When the line finally disconnected, Yue the Seventh dialed the company’s legal departnt.
"Hello? What the hell is going on with the company? Has there really been a change in share ownership?"
It was unclear what was said on the other end, but when Yue the Seventh hung up the phone, he suddenly looked haggard.
"No! This is impossible! It’s impossible! How could this happen? Who?! Who’s plotting against ?!"
After his furious outburst, Yue the Seventh called Vice President Han again. "Who acquired our company? Do you have their number? I want their number! Good, send it to
right now!"
"Don’t bother looking for the number," Fang Chenyi said. "Didn’t I already tell you? I’m the one who bought your company."
Looking at Yue the Seventh’s haggard expression, Fang Chenyi actually felt a montary pang of pity. ’Sigh... I’m just too kind-hearted.’
Yue the Seventh, however, didn’t seem to hear him. As soon as he received the ssage from Vice President Han, he hastily dialed the number it contained.
RING RING RING~
And yet, the very mont Yue the Seventh’s call connected, a phone started ringing—from Fang Chenyi, who was standing right in front of him.
