Chapter 1355: Chapter 1356 This Is Just the Beginning (1)

"Foster Father, what on earth is going on?!" Shao Xing asked anxiously, disregarding his manners.

"Soone is targeting our Xuanqing Sect!" Long Zaitian took a fierce drag on his cigar, his face twitching slightly with a nacing look. "I got the news this morning from above. Two days ago, the Xuandu Discipline Departnt received evidence of transactions between Xuanqing Sect and officials in Jinyin City. Initially, this matter could have been intercepted midway, but for so reason, it went directly to the big shots. Last night the high authority held an overnight eting, and word has it that they might co down hard on this!"

Shao Xing collapsed onto a chair, his face ashen. Though arrogant, he understood that facing the country’s power, the Xuanqing Sect would have nowhere to hide! But was he really going to give up like this?!

"Foster Father, who did this? Who has the ability to gather so much evidence?"

Long Zaitian’s sharp eyes narrowed slightly, flashing with coldness. After a long while, he slowly said, "Can’t find out."

"What?!" Shao Xing asked again, uncertainly.

"Can’t find out. Using all of Xuanqing Sect’s resources, still can’t find out who’s behind this!"

Long Zaitian spoke through gritted teeth; he had been in a high position for years, but this was the first ti he couldn’t track down sothing! This phenonon only suggests two possibilities: firstly, the big shots were already planning to deal with Xuanqing Sect, using a fabricated excuse and evidence as a breakthrough. The second possibility is the opposing force has reached a level Xuanqing Sect can’t shake!

Whether it’s one situation or the other, it’s harmful and not beneficial to Xuanqing Sect!

"Foster Father, what should we do now?" Shao Xing asked.

Long Zaitian squinted his eyes, glancing imperceptibly at the silent Military Advisor Chiang beside him.

"Mr. Chiang, do you have any opinions?"

The feather fan in Chiang Yu’s hand slowly stopped, he retrieved his thoughts, and with a cold gaze, looked at Long Zaitian.

In Long Zaitian’s eyes, Chiang Yu saw many things. Humans are born with original sin, nad the seven deadly sins: gluttony, lust, greed, sorrow, wrath, sloth, vanity, and arrogance. Chiang Yu’s eyes could see through all sins in the world, and he clearly saw various original sins in Long Zaitian’s eyes.

Long Zaitian didn’t trust him, sothing Chiang Yu had always known. If it weren’t for the Old Sect Leader’s wishes, perhaps he would have long since turned to dust.

Sighing deeply in his heart, if he wasn’t trusted, why ask for his opinion? Or perhaps Long Zaitian felt he was involved?

After giving Long Zaitian, who was staring at him, a deep look, Chiang Yu slowly said:

"Sect Leader, Xuanqing Sect has run rampant in Jinyin City for years, it’s ti to restrain ourselves."

Long Zaitian did not speak, still staring at Chiang Yu with dead fish eyes. The scene beca awkward, the whole eting room seed to freeze.

Just when the air was about to shatter, a slightly sharp male voice suddenly sounded.

"Military Advisor Chiang, now is not the ti to review Xuanqing Sect! We have received the evidence, shouldn’t our imdiate priority be to get through this crisis? Saying this now is a bit like kicking us when we’re down!"

Chiang Yu looked to the right with his cold eyes, at the far end of the table was a man with a pointy face and small build, blinking his piercing eyes cunningly at him.

Chiang Yu recognized this man, he was vice hall master of the Xuanqing Sect’s Punishnt Hall, real na Wang Yang, but due to his cruel thods and jealous nature, he was known as Snake King. Snake King was Long Zaitian’s confidant and relied on Long Zaitian’s trust and importance to do as he pleased in the Punishnt Hall. He had long disliked Chiang Yu, always seizing any opportunity to interfere and kick him when he was down.
