Chapter 452: Chapter 38: Freedom

The reconnaissance robot is small in size, flying high in the air and difficult to detect, yet it can clearly grasp the situation in the surrounding area.

All he needs is to locate the target, Su Changxing finds a suitable angle, and he can take it down with one shot.

Very soon.

The gladiatorial slaves notice sothing amiss; too many of them are dying in a short ti. Combined with the occasional dull gunshots, they realize a gunman is hunting others.

"Brazenly breaking the rules, quite powerful" A bald man with chains and a face as emaciated as a bone saber looks towards the direction of the gunshots and quickly retreats in the opposite direction.

His goal is not battles, but survival; as long as he survives, his ranking will naturally rise, which is his experience.

Although this is a low-level world, there are many who fail in the gutter. In his view, reckless people often don’t live long.

"Why not run?"

His face freezes, a voice cos from the front.

A figure carrying a gun appears at the other end of the alley, observing him.

Finished.

The bald man knows he’s been caught, looks up and sees the other isn’t a gladiator, and says in a deep voice:

"Do you have sothing?"

This person should be the local from the rankings; if he wanted to kill him, he would’ve shot long ago.

Su Changxing purses his lips, smiles, and says, "Mmm, I’ve seen you keep running, why not now?"

In the footage from the reconnaissance robot, this person keeps hiding like a rat in the gutter; if he hadn’t exposed himself in the robot’s detection range, Su Changxing would’ve never noticed him.

"Is running still useful now?"

The bald man shows an awkward smile, cold sweat forming on his forehead, feeling the suffocating oppression.

Su Changxing approaches him in big strides, casually says: "It’s useless, but I’m not killing you, I want to ask about your ga rules."

The bald man pauses, realizing the other seed to join midway, and awkwardly laughs: "What rules can there be? Whoever kills more, survives longer, ranks higher."

Su Changxing asks: "Can you attack each other?"

The bald man’s eyes move and says: "Not in the current stage, but in the next stage, mutual slaughter is allowed."

Su Changxing thinks and asks: "What benefits do you get for winning the championship?"

"Wealth, resources, most importantly freedom; the winner can return to freedom, join the army, and not participate in the next death match."

The bald man’s face shows excitent, then gloomily says, "Actually entering the top ten grants freedom, but my hard power isn’t enough to make it."

Su Changxing observes his deanor, thinks and asks, "You seem familiar with death matches, an old hand?"

The bald man nods, self-mockingly smiles: "Yes, I’ve participated in five death matches, but continuing like this will eventually lead to death, just like now."

The dark muzzle points at his forehead.

Su Changxing doesn’t pull the trigger, instead he puts away the gun and says: "There’s a way for you to regain freedom, I won’t kill you."

The bald man sharply stares at Su Changxing: "Hmm? Without the corresponding strength, it’s absolutely impossible to enter the top ten."

Su Changxing glances at the revolver in his hand and leisurely says: "If I eliminate the others, you naturally enter the top ten, gaining freedom is reasonable."

That’s how things are, that’s the logic too.

The bald man finds it absurd, a native of a low-level world dares claim to eliminate the others, but Su Changxing speaks seriously, without a hint of joking.

After a silent while, the bald man exhales and says: "What do you need

to do?"

Su Changxing throws him a coin: "Help

from the shadows, convey information about the others using this."

The bald man puts the coin into his pocket, watches Su Changxing’s silhouette disappear into the night, a hint of smile on his lips.

This is an extrely crazy thing, but precisely because it’s so crazy, it has aning. People like him who crave freedom will do anything for it.

······

"Let the drones monitor his actions."

Su Changxing speaks to V16.

V17 chanically says: "Due to the black fog effect, the target’s general position can only be estimated."

Passing by the police station, iron gates piled with corpses, and damaged guns scattered on the ground.

People in the Black Fog World aren’t particularly keen on firearms; they prefer cold weapons, but so do use guns, apparently limited by their roles.

"These ard personnel were attacked first; their points value is higher."

Su Changxing scratches his chin thoughtfully, realizing police and military are pri targets for stronger gladiatorial slaves.

If calculated this way, the points of those in front may differ vastly from those behind, but using the points inheritance chanism, just kill a few with more points.

Imdiately.

They take all the weapons from the police station, preparing to distribute them to unard civilians to increase their combat power.

Su Changxing discovers a gladiatorial slave’s body on the police station floor, pierced by blades, pinned to the wall.

"Are there other Extraordinary?"

He raises an eyebrow, sensing this must be the work of Extraordinary; these gladiatorial slaves are currently not allowed to attack each other.

The battle was exceptionally fierce.

The inside walls of the police station are destroyed, two gladiatorial slaves are killed, another is shot dead amidst chaos, over ten bullet holes on his body, one shot piercing his heart.

"There should be so police who survived."

Deng Yiming analyzes, his expression uncertain; they killed two opponents yet lost so many people, unsure if it’s good or bad.

But at least it proves others have room to resist.

Su Changxing nods and says: "They should have left not long ago, we can locate them."

Soon.

The reconnaissance robot locks onto a gladiatorial slave’s silhouette again, upper body bare, wearing torn black-brown pants, running along the street towards the departnt store.

"There are many signs of human activity ahead." V16 receives the reconnaissance robot’s information and repeats.

Su Changxing holds the sniper rifle but doesn’t pull the trigger; the angle is extrely difficult to hit, and would alarm other nearby gladiatorial slaves.

They follow close behind, hearing dense gunfire, with bullet flashes in the dim light.

A glaring light erupts from a distant building, followed by a roar, half of the departnt store collapses.
