After lunch, Murong Yezi and Qin Yuhan did the dishes. During this period, with Qin Yuhan away from the Group, Li Muge had been helping out there.

At that mont, Wu Tian picked up the little one and headed out the door.

"Dad, where are you taking ? Are you taking

out to sell ?" the little one joked, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

It was May in the South. The sun wasn't particularly strong, but the weather was muggy and hot.

"We're looking for a mountain," Wu Tian laughed. "Where do you think we should go hiking?"

The little one had a special intuition, and Wu Tian decided to put it to the test.

"Paradise Peak," she blurted out without a second thought.

Wu Tian nodded. Although he was from Yang City, he had never visited Paradise Peak. Rumor had it that there were ten mountains in Yang City worth conquering, and Paradise Peak was ranked number one.

Why was it called Paradise Peak? Perhaps because it was the peak in Yang City that reached closest to the Firmant. Located within a forest park, it boasted an elevation of 1,210 ters and a forest coverage of 99%. It didn't have the fa of Baiyun Mountain or the elegance of Yuexiu Mountain, but it possessed the sa grandeur as Mount Tai.

Wu Tian moved quickly, and soon he and the little one arrived at the foot of Paradise Peak.

Gazing at the mountain path ahead, the little one shouted excitedly, "Dad, Dad, I want to climb up myself! I want to do it on my own!"

Hearing this, Wu Tian let out a hearty laugh and set the little one down from his arms.

The little one hopped excitedly, eager to run up the path all by herself. Wu Tian followed closely behind, worried she might fall. The little one, being clever, noticed what her father was doing, and the knowledge that he was watching over her made her giggle with even greater joy. Dad loves

so much! she thought, feeling happier than ever.

There were quite a few people climbing Paradise Peak, including other children. However, most of those children gave up after climbing for only a short while. When the little one overtook them, they couldn't help but stare at the adorable girl, marveling at how pretty she was. The youngest among them, a six-year-old boy, nearly worked up the courage to confess his feelings to her but was ultimately too shy.

Wu Tian continued to follow closely behind his daughter. One six-year-old girl looked at the little one, then at Wu Tian, and as if suddenly understanding sothing, she burst into loud sobs.

"What's wrong?" the girl's father asked worriedly.

"That little girl... she's so pretty!" she cried out.

Her father was taken aback for a mont before nodding. "Yes, she is. But why are you crying about it?"

"I'm ugly, and it's all your fault for passing it on to !" the six-year-old wailed, leaving her dad speechless.

The other children also looked from the little one to Wu Tian, and a look of envy was unmistakable on their faces. A wave of crying swept through the children on the path. At the sa ti, they all glared at their own fathers in disgust.

The fathers' mouths twitched. It wasn't their fault they were ugly—they should bla their own dads.

One of them finally spoke up. "Hey, you have to bla your grandpa for this. If your grandpa wasn't so ugly, how could I have turned out ugly?"

The commotion on the mountain path was so loud that it made Wu Tian and the little one turn to look. After just one glance, the little one giggled. "Dad, it's a good thing you're handso. Otherwise, I'd be crying too."

Wu Tian nodded. He was also glad his mother was attractive. He was reminded of a line from an old TV series, where a monk once said, "With high martial arts skills but an unattractive face, the best one can hope for is to dominate the Martial Arts World. But to have great martial skills and be handso? That is how one truly captivates the Martial Arts World. Dominating is fleeting, but captivating the world lasts much, much longer."

"Honestly, what's with those dads?" the little one piped up. "Their kids are crying, and they don't even comfort them! If they want toys, give them toys! If they want chocolate, give them chocolate!"

Her words startled the other children, who then imdiately began to shout their demands.

"I want a Kabuda robot! If you don't buy it for , I'll cry until you do!"

"SOB, SOB... I want to wear those super short-shorts! I'm only seven, but you have to promise, or I'll keep crying!"

The parents on the mountain path were thrown into chaos by their children's wailing. At that mont, Wu Tian could feel a barrage of resentful stares from behind him. He really wanted to say that he was innocent.

Wu Tian continued up the mountain with the little one, and soon they reached the summit of Paradise Peak, from where they had an unobstructed view of all the smaller mountains below.

But just as quickly, Wu Tian spotted a figure hiding in the bushes. The man was too bulky, however, for the foliage to conceal him properly.

"Co out," Wu Tian said.

Hearing him, the little one also looked over and saw a figure erge from the bushes. It was Lin Fa.

"You're a boss now. Why are you hiding here?" Wu Tian asked in frustration.

The mont he saw Wu Tian, the large man unexpectedly burst into sobs. Tears stread down his chubby, grief-stricken face.

"Oh, oh, oh, don't cry, don't cry," the little one chirped, running over. She took so candy from her pocket and handed it to Lin Fa. "Big sister will give you so candy."

Lin Fa was dumbfounded, but he stopped crying. He never thought he'd be comforted by a child one day. What he really wanted was comfort from his boss, Wu Tian! Seeing Wu Tian's indifferent expression, as if he were completely unmoved, Lin Fa cried out again, "Boss, you have to believe ! I'm innocent!"

"How could you be stupid enough to hide here?" Wu Tian asked, knowing he couldn't stay silent any longer. Paradise Peak gets tons of visitors every day. For Lin Fa to hide here... if he's not an idiot, then what is he?

"I don't know either," Lin Fa said sheepishly. "Last night, my father died. When the police ca, they said I was the killer. My stepmother and Tianlong were the witnesses. The police wanted to arrest , so I ran for it. I just ran wildly without any direction and sohow ended up here. By the ti I ca to my senses, I was too exhausted and fell asleep. When I woke up, it was already daylight and there were too many people around, so I didn't dare go out."

Lin Fa's father is dead? Wu Tian processed the information and nodded grimly.

Lin Fa began to mutter to himself, tears falling uncontrollably. "He... he may not have treated

well, but he was still my... my dad... I didn't even get to see him one last ti. Instead... instead, they're saying I killed him. I... I've been frad!"

Just then, a team of people rushed onto the summit of Paradise Peak. It was the police.

Leading them was Xiang Wan. She had originally been stationed in Peng City but had co here in pursuit of a master-level fugitive whom she was determined to bring to justice. No matter whom she asked, those in the know refused to divulge his na. Through various channels, she learned that her target was in Yang City, so she had requested a transfer.

Of course, she had no idea that the very person she had been searching for, the one she wanted to bring to justice, was Wu Tian.

For now, she just looked coldly at Lin Fa. "You can't escape. You left too many clues on your way here. I need you to co back to the station with

now."

Lin Fa quickly hid behind Wu Tian, crying pitifully. "It wasn't ! It really wasn't ! I didn't kill anyone!"

One of the police officers snorted. "You're the only one with a motive. Your stepmother and your younger brother both said they saw you kill him. Are you still going to deny it?"
