Chapter 143: Mist-Dispelling Lamp Crafting Recipe

"No. That noble lady doesn’t know anything." The man covered his swollen cheek and spoke with slurred words. "Later, Baron Mountain Ape ca with soldiers. In the panic, we had no choice but to flee to the Northern Province."

"You could have said that earlier. I’m not Baron Mountain Ape, and I have no interest in your children. From now on, you are my slaves. Just work honestly for , and you won’t starve."

"Congratulations on getting your lives back. Only our lord is this rciful."

Kai snorted coldly at the villagers. Many of them finally reacted and joyfully prostrated themselves on the ground, repeatedly thanking him.

Quietly committing the missing-children incident to mory, Phield ordered the guards to tie the prisoners together with rope into a long chain. If anyone tried to run, they would imdiately trip over the others.

Phield dismounted and walked into Turnip Village. The ground was littered with trash and excrent, and the stench was unbearable.

He walked to a small pot set on a crude stand and glanced inside. The pot contained a lump of grayish paste-like substance that reeked of earth.

"What have you people been eating these days?"

Picking up a small stick, Phield stirred the pot a couple of tis but still couldn’t figure out what it was.

Why does it look like crap?

"Heh heh heh. Three als a day without worries—we just eat Mountain Ape territory’s specialty... little mushrooms."

"This is our special product, Boletus edulis. After one batch is harvested, you fill it with water, and another batch will grow again in half a month. The only problem is that you can’t eat too much. The more you eat, the thinner you get. And it has no taste."

"Good stuff."

Phield’s eyes lit up. He had discovered a special plant of this world.

The villagers led him to several carts filled with Boletus edulis. These mushrooms all grew inside hollowed-out logs, each one filled with water.

"Take all the mushrooms with us." Phield nodded in satisfaction. These mushrooms alone made the trip worthwhile. "By the way, I saw that you have a lot of mist-dispelling lamps. Where did they co from?"

A mist-dispelling lamp cost twenty-five gold coins each.

"I made them. I’m a worker responsible for mixing potions." Among the three people from earlier, the woman spoke up. "When I was working for the church mixing potions, I heard that my daughter had been taken by Baron Mountain Ape and disappeared without a trace. So I stole so precious materials and planned to make them myself, then sell them to find my daughter."

"But... obviously there was nowhere to sell them."

The woman took a luxurious crystal bottle from her chest. Inside was a pale white liquid.

"Holy shit! Seriously? You can make this?"

The woman was startled by Phield’s reaction and hurriedly stepped back.

"I only follow the operating steps they gave

and make it step by step. I don’t understand what it actually is or how it works."

Phield was stunned.

The raw material for the mist-dispelling lamp he had been longing for was suddenly right in front of him.

If he could decipher the formula, he would be able to produce and sell them himself in the future.

"Good. This belongs to

now. You will be responsible for making mist-dispelling lamps for ."

After looting everything of value from Turnip Village, Phield returned to Nightfall Domain.

Rosalia, who hadn’t even gotten a chance to kill anyone, could only continue her task with regret.

"Ashina, can you tell what this is?"

The first thing Phield did after returning to the territory was call Ashina over and have her examine the raw material for the mist-dispelling lamp.

"Sniff, sniff~"

Ashina’s nose twitched slightly. A faint blush spread across her jade-like pale skin as she smiled with a playful expression.

"This is milk. What’s wrong, Phield? Don’t tell

you’re hungry. But unfortunately, big sister here can’t produce this."

"Pfft—"

Phield was drinking tea at the ti. Seeing Ashina’s "you understand what I an" expression, he nearly choked to death.

"This is the first ti I’ve seen you so playful." Phield wiped his mouth.

"Haha. I think it cos from a Divine Chosen. I can’t sll any human or animal scent on it. Combined with the property of dispelling mist, it should co from a Holy Light Divine Chosen." After teasing Phield enough, Ashina returned to a serious expression and explained.

"???"

Phield felt like sothing about this world was completely absurd.

This is basically the world of an erotic ga, right?

"From a milky-white sphere... squeezed out?"

"Mm-hm. What else?" Ashina blinked and added, "It could also co from other skin tones."

"Do... do nuns have this kind of thing..."

Thinking about those pure and holy-looking nuns, Phield suddenly felt his brain itch.

"No idea. Other magical ingredients were added to it as well, but the most important material must be ’milk.’" Ashina smiled. "Many products made by Divine Chosen are related to the Divine Chosen themselves. I’ve even heard that fox-race Divine Chosen weave lucky bracelets from their fur to bring good fortune to the wearer. Of course, it’s fur that naturally falls off from their tails, not from strange places."

"How fascinating."

After thinking for a long ti, Phield looked at the crystal bottle in his hand. For so reason, he had an inexplicable urge to take a small sip. In the end, he straightened his collar and said calmly:

"Leave a small sample. Let that woman continue producing mist-dispelling lamps."

"Alright."

Ashina had just left when a maid ca in to report that a guard requested an audience.

"My lord, Miss Grolova wishes to see you. She demands that you execute everyone who kidnapped her, and in the most cruel way possible."

"This is a matter of my territory. Outsiders have no right to interfere. Besides, I’m not even sure of her identity yet."

Phield placed the quill back into the pen holder and lightly tapped the table with his fingers.

"Keep her under supervision. Also keep an eye on that group of villagers. They just arrived and are restless. Don’t let them cause any trouble."

"Yes, my lord."

The guard imdiately departed after receiving the order.

Phield did not allow the daughter of Baron Mountain Ape to enter Windrise Town. Instead, he arranged a side room for her in Starnight Castle. She would be given only two als a day and watched by four guards, forbidden from leaving the room.

In truth, guards were hardly necessary. Corrupted Greatsword Warriors were hidden throughout the entire territory. Anyone who dared to cause trouble would et only one end—death.

"A domineering noble lady... perhaps she can be exchanged for so benefits."

Phield began thinking about how to make use of her.

"Wow, I’m so tired~"

Charlotte walked in from outside the door looking exhausted. She closed the door casually, then flopped into the bed like an ostrich burying its head in the sand.

"You’ve worked hard."

"Hehe." Charlotte revealed a tired, silly smile. "I blessed so much land today."

"There’s no need to rush. Take it slowly."

Phield called over the maid g.

"Make a fresh small cake for Miss Charlotte. And later this evening, prepare a portion of stir-fried beef for Miss Ashina. She’ll be back before nightfall."

"Yes, my lord."

g was surprised and thought to herself: Miss Ashina still hasn’t lost the lord’s favor. Looks like neither side can be neglected.

The maids had assud Phield would only pay attention to the human Divine Chosen like they did.

Charlotte waved her hand.

"We can’t slow down. We must grow quickly. I will never allow enemies to continue destroying our holand."
