Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Innate Divine
Er Tu is very clever, but also very naive.
At the very least, much more naive than those modern humans Li Boyang knew in his previous life.
Once it was confird that neither side had any hostile intent and that they could communicate, Er Tu quickly beca friendly with Big Girl.
During this process, Er Tu once again displayed its extrely severe chatterbox tendencies.
It was supposed to be a chat with Big Girl.
But in reality, it was more often Er Tu’s one-sided complaints and grievances.
Although Li Boyang noticed that Er Tu always maintained a safe distance at which it could turn and run at any mont.
But indeed, a preliminary trust was established between Er Tu and Big Girl.
According to Er Tu, it was quite a famous Spirit Monster in the Hundred Lands Mountain Range.
This fa wasn’t due to its great power.
Rather, its tendency to endlessly chatter away with a self-introduced familiarity once it started speaking.
Er Tu relied on its innate transformative Divine Power to smoothly communicate with any race.
Over ti, Spirit Monsters in the forest who could take on Er Tu found it annoying and would chase it away upon eting.
As for those Spirit Monsters who couldn’t take on Er Tu, they wouldn’t want to et it at all, detouring around from a distance.
Well, these are all Er Tu’s own words.
After translating and understanding Er Tu’s words, Li Boyang saw a different picture.
Stripping away all the embellishnts, Li Boyang believed that Er Tu was essentially a mischief-maker.
Born in the forest and possessing a myriad of transformative Divine Powers, Er Tu rarely encountered anyone with whom it could equally and patiently communicate.
This made it hard for Er Tu to satisfy its curiosity and need to vent.
So when it encountered other Spirit Monsters unwilling to communicate, Er Tu would inevitably go beyond their tolerance levels.
For example, constantly hovering behind Spirit Monsters while they were stealthily hunting, chattering away.
Or showing an utter lack of boundaries by offering what it thought were good-natured but actually provocatively "surprises".
Or habitually weaving grandiose tales and even lies.
This trait was fully displayed during its interactions with Big Girl.
The less worldly Big Girl was utterly baffled by Er Tu’s cajoling.
Li Boyang even suspected that Er Tu’s habit of maintaining a safe distance stemd from being beaten up by other Spirit Monsters too many tis.
—— A timid, curious monster that loves to exaggerate?
This was Li Boyang’s understanding of the peculiar Spirit Monster Er Tu after summarizing and reflecting.
Li Boyang wasn’t sure whether it was the legendary monster.
Because according to Er Tu, it had never seen another Spirit Monster capable of changing its appearance at will like it could.
This was an innate talent.
Just like the third eye on Li Boyang’s forehead, it couldn’t be acquired through learning.
At least, Er Tu didn’t know how to replicate this talent.
Other Spirit Monsters in the forest rarely displayed abilities beyond their natural gifts.
This made Li Boyang realize that the world he was in might not be the Cultivation World he imagined.
...........................
As Li Boyang was intently listening to the conversation, Er Tu was also quietly observing this Innate Divine being.
On the surface, this seed like an ordinary human infant.
But Er Tu could sense the Life Essence Qi, cherished by Spirit Monsters, continually emanating from this being’s body.
The reason why the human girl in front could run over hills carrying a half-grown baby.
Was largely because prolonged exposure to this Life Essence Qi was causing so sort of transformation akin to a Spirit Monster.
However, what was eerie was that this Life Essence Qi wasn’t pure; it was mixed with so terrifying Evil Qi.
Even though Li Boyang was wearing a red baby hat.
Er Tu could see at a glance that his hair was "burning" beneath the hat.
Of course, those red hairs were rely emitting heat, not igniting the hat like real flas would.
From this alone, Er Tu knew that this half-grown baby had already begun to grasp its own abilities, no longer a helpless "Tang Monk’s Flesh".
Moreover, Er Tu noticed that Li Boyang’s exposed skin appeared much redder than that of a typical infant.
[Humans really are terrifying creatures, daring even to raise such a freak.]
Thinking so, Er Tu inconspicuously moved back half a step, maintaining a safe distance from Li Boyang.
"In short, that’s the situation, I bear you no malice."
"If it wasn’t for the big commotion caused by the recent ’Earth Vein Disturbance’, I wouldn’t have traveled so far to find food."
"Of course, the herbs you hold are rely ordinary food to , I could find more whenever I want!"
Li Boyang maintained a neutral stance on Er Tu’s statent.
The herbs he had Big Girl dig up might not be heavenly treasures, but they certainly weren’t ordinary food either.
Both Li Boyang and Big Girl realized this.
"Liar, your mouth is practically watering..."
Suddenly pointing at the corner of Er Tu’s mouth, Big Girl said with a small laugh.
"Huh?"
Hearing this, Er Tu was first taken aback, then instinctively wiped its mouth.
Once it realized Big Girl was tricking it and that it hadn’t been drooling, it glared at her with embarrassnt and anger.
"You’re the one who’s a liar!"
"You little girl trickster!"
To be honest, perhaps because it was used to being bold and reckless, this was the first ti Er Tu was tricked.
Other mountain people, upon seeing it, would be afraid and beg for rcy, giving it whatever it wanted.
Unlike Big Girl, who not only wasn’t afraid but dared to tease it.
"Bleh! Who told you to trick
first!"
Whether it was by nature or because Li Boyang was there.
Having understood Er Tu’s nature, the playful Big Girl stuck out her tongue, not taking Er Tu’s embarrassnt to heart at all.
Smack!
Seeing this, Li Boyang, not wanting Er Tu to beco angry out of embarrassnt, imdiately patted the basket.
Effectively interrupting the interaction between the human and the beast.
"Hey!"
Noticing Big Girl looking at him, Li Boyang quickly waved his little hands.
Thanks to the tacit understanding developed over the past few months.
Big Girl quickly got Li Boyang’s ssage and turned to the still bewildered Er Tu to ask.
"Little brother asks, what was that ’Earth Vein Disturbance’ you ntioned?"
