Chapter 313: Chapter 221: ’They Want to Kill

Wherever Fang Zhen pointed his spear, no one dared to respond.

Just then, one of the Knights on the ground proved he could still move. He abruptly pushed himself up and lunged forward, seemingly trying to tackle the Red Hare Horse’s legs from behind.

But he had miscalculated.

With a tug on the reins from Fang Zhen, the Red Hare Horse lifted its hind legs. Its hooves, as large as small waterlons, shot out and slamd into the Knight’s chest.

THUMP!

A dull thud rang out, making anyone who heard it feel a tightness in their own chest.

The attacking Knight’s chestplate caved in. He was sent flying four or five ters away.

The other Knight who had fallen in front of them also scrambled up, drew the sword at his waist, and moved to attack Fang Zhen again.

Fang Zhen thrust his spear downward in a diagonal arc.

Thanks to his superior reach and elevated position, Fang Zhen’s spear struck the Knight’s chest before the man’s Longsword could even connect.

The tip of the spear flashed with white light.

BOOM!

With a muffled explosion, the armor on the back of the Knight with the Longsword burst apart. The iron plates shattered, and the force of the single spear thrust blew away the flesh and blood from his back.

The power of the Second-level Power Mountain Seal was truly terrifying.

The Knight with the Longsword looked down at his chest in disbelief.

His chest plate had only been pierced by the spear’s tip. The Knight died without ever understanding how that one thrust could have such an effect and carry such power.

His back almost entirely blown away, the Knight’s body went limp and collapsed to the ground.

Seeing that this one was dead, Fang Zhen decided to be thorough. He yanked the reins, and the Red Hare Horse spun around, charging toward the Knight who had been kicked flying monts before.

The Knight’s chestplate was caved in; he was clearly gravely injured.

As the Red Hare Horse galloped past, one of its massive hooves stomped down hard on the fallen Knight’s head.

SPLAT!

It was the sound of a waterlon being smashed.

The Knight’s brains splattered. His helt was crushed into a mangled wreck, and blood and brain matter seeped out of the twisted tal. He instantly fell silent.

Seeing that Fang Zhen actually dared to kill Count Henry’s n—and with such ease—the soldiers of the Ashton Territory were stunned silent for a mont. Then they let out a roar filled with excitent and a primal thirst for battle, cheering for Fang Zhen.

Fang Zhen wheeled his horse around and stared coldly toward Count Henry’s ranks.

Count Henry’s face was pale, his lips trembling slightly.

"You... you actually dared to kill my n?" Count Henry’s voice was strained as he spoke.

"Drawing your weapons in my presence is a declaration of war," Fang Zhen said flatly. "I treat all enemies the sa. Dare to draw your blade, and you’d better be prepared to die."

Count Henry was speechless.

The three Mages in front of him watched Fang Zhen with extre caution.

"Retreat... For today, we’ll let this be. Hmph, I won’t let this go!" With a conflicted expression, and likely feeling the situation was unwinnable, Henry finally gave the order to retreat.

Henry’s purpose today had been to intimidate Dalia into submission and seize de facto control of the Ashton Territory. He had been banking on Dalia’s reluctance to start a war.

However, he hadn’t expected Fang Zhen to burst onto the scene. And by the looks of it, Fang Zhen wasn’t one for talk; he was the type who would actually dare to kill.

Fang Zhen’s appearance had thrown Count Henry’s plans into chaos, and Henry didn’t dare order his soldiers and Knights to all charge in.

The Ashton Territory still had at least two to three hundred soldiers. If a real fight broke out, it would be an all-out battle. In that case, Henry would lose any claim to a just cause and would suffer heavy losses. It wouldn’t be worth the cost. Besides, this was the Ashton Territory; Dalia had the advantage of the terrain and the Ancient Castle, so he wasn’t even sure he could win.

And on top of all that, there was a monster like Fang Zhen to contend with.

"My lord, what about my Attendant?" one of the Knights asked anxiously, glancing at the Attendant pinned to the castle gate by an armor-piercing arrow.

"Hmph, figure it out yourself," Henry snapped, glaring at the Knight as if to vent his frustration.

The Knight was speechless. ’What a cold and ungrateful man,’ he couldn’t help but think.

But there was nothing he could do. Henry was his Lord, after all.

Resigned, the Knight didn’t dare challenge Fang Zhen, so he could only sullenly depart with the rest of the troops.

Fang Zhen narrowed his eyes.

’I really thought a fight was about to break out.’

’I’m not afraid of a real fight. Given the strength of the soldiers in this Naless World, I’m powerful enough to carve a path in and out of their ranks seven tis over. And even if my stamina gave out, I could just pull out the HK416 and spray them all down. Problem solved.’

’But I didn’t expect Count Henry to just chicken out.’

Just as Fang Zhen was wondering whether he should stoke the flas further, he heard Matthew shout from the wall, "Sir Fang Zhen! Please, restrain yourself a bit!"

"The situation is rather complicated. Please co up. I will take you to see the Countess and explain everything in detail."

Fang Zhen considered it for a mont and decided not to give chase.

’I’m not afraid of war, and I’m not afraid of killing, but I don’t want to do anything pointless.’

’It’s better to first understand what’s going on—the cause and effect—and then decide whether to fight or make peace. It’s not too late for that.’

He nodded and did not press the attack.

Seeing Count Henry lead his troops away in a sorry state, the soldiers of the Ashton Territory erupted in jeering laughter.

Even though they hadn’t been the ones to fight, many of the soldiers already considered Fang Zhen the territory’s foremost Knight. Seeing him single-handedly stop several hundred of Count Henry’s n, his martial prowess filled them with a sense of shared honor.

Soon, the castle gates opened, and people ca out to welco Fang Zhen.

At that mont, a soldier from the Ashton Territory ran over from the direction of the city.

It was Ayo, who had co with Fang Zhen.

Ayo had witnessed the entire event. His face was flushed with excitent, and his adoration for Fang Zhen was written all over it.

"Sir, you were absolutely incredible!" Ayo blurted out, unable to hide his thoughts.
