The spear shot backward like lightning—a Reversal Spear.

Ellick had never seen such a move before. Unable to dodge, he was struck.

Ellick could only rely on his extraordinary reflexes to twist his body aside at the last second. He managed to protect his head, but there was no way to move his body out of the path of the attack.

PFFT!

The longspear pierced Ellick's left shoulder, missing his throat and head by a hair's breadth.

A look of agony crossed Ellick's face.

Only then did Fang Zhen turn around. He twisted the longspear, widening the wound to maximize the damage.

The spearhead was coated in Blood Burst Secret dicine.

The flas from the burning Magic Grease were strange. While lethal to his enemies, they had no effect on Fang Zhen, his spear, or even the Blood Burst Secret dicine coating it.

Stimulated by the Blood Burst Secret dicine, Ellick's left arm began to swell.

Perhaps because he was a high-level creature, Ellick had so resistance to the secret dicine. He didn't explode as quickly and grotesquely as the low-level creatures did.

But the Blood Burst Secret dicine was still taking effect.

But Ellick was a ruthless man—or rather, a ruthless fiend. Seeing his left shoulder pierced and poisoned with the Blood Burst Secret dicine, the Vampire Count gritted his teeth and grabbed his left shoulder with his right hand.

The nails on Ellick's right hand shot out, growing to nearly ten centiters in length. His sharp claws sliced into his left arm as he violently tore it away.

The ruthless fiend had actually ripped his own left arm clean off, severing the limb himself!

The detached arm swelled rapidly. Ellick flung it forward, sending it hurtling toward Fang Zhen.

With a flick of his longspear, Fang Zhen knocked the flying limb aside. The arm then exploded in midair.

A white light flashed on his longspear as he activated Power Mountain Seal and lunged forward.

Ellick suddenly shot into the air.

It was as if Ellick had activated another skill. A bloody light appeared behind him, and an unknown force lifted him into the air. He soared four or five ters high, flying over Fang Zhen's head and landing five or six ters away.

Fang Zhen's thrust t only air, his spearhead burying itself in the wall.

Empowered by the Power Mountain Seal, the longspear's penetrating force was imnse. It sank nearly half a ter into the stone.

From behind, Jilenna took over the assault, her greatsword a blur as she engaged Ellick.

Jilenna's Perception attribute was over fifteen, setting her far apart from ordinary mortals. She completely ignored the visual illusions Ellick created, relying purely on her senses to attack and use her skills.

Physically, too, Jilenna was a perfect counter for Ellick.

The flesh on Ellick's left stump writhed, as if trying to regenerate; it looked as if a new arm might even sprout forth.

However, the wound was still affected by the remnants of the Blood Burst Secret dicine. The flesh writhed, but the arm stubbornly refused to regenerate.

While the one-ard Ellick fended off Jilenna's assault, his eyes remained fixed on Fang Zhen over by the wall.

No, to be precise, Ellick wasn't staring at Fang Zhen. He was staring at the section of wall his longspear had pierced.

Fang Zhen had driven his spear deep into the wall.

He didn't imdiately withdraw the longspear, having keenly sensed sothing was amiss.

The tip of the spear had felt like it was piercing normal stone, but the deeper it went, the less it felt like stone and more like... sothing soft. 'Sothing like flesh.'

'There's sothing in there,' he thought, his intuition screaming at him.

He pulled the longspear free.

From the hole left in the wall, red blood began to trickle out.

'Sothing's hidden here!' Fang Zhen imdiately knew sothing was wrong.

Ellick, who was multitasking, grew visibly nervous when he saw Fang Zhen had noticed the issue with the wall and was continuing to inspect it.

Fang Zhen noticed Ellick's change in expression.

Instead of pressing the attack, he activated Power Mountain Seal again, his longspear glowing with a white light.

He thrust the spear into the wall, opening another hole.

'The feeling is the sa.'

'I was right,' Fang Zhen confird. 'Deep inside this wall, there's definitely sothing living. Sothing made of flesh.'

Ellick's expression grew even more frantic. He even cried out, seemingly trying to draw Fang Zhen's attention.

Fang Zhen remained unmoved.

'Whatever the enemy is protecting is what I must attack.'

He didn't join Jilenna to corner Ellick. Although the Count was at a disadvantage, he still had his speed. If he felt his life was truly on the line, the vampire would undoubtedly turn and flee. He'd be able to escape, and no one would be able to stop him.

'The fact that Ellick hasn't run yet ans there's sothing in this Ancient Castle he values more than his life.'

'I don't know what's in that wall, but since he's so desperate to protect it, that's exactly where I need to strike.'

"Karen! The alchemical gear!" Fang Zhen shouted, glancing back over the battlefield.

At that mont, Karen had just swung his greatsword to decapitate one of the experintal creatures.

Hearing Fang Zhen's call, Karen glanced back and imdiately understood.

Karen was in the perfect spot. He ran a few steps and picked up the two gas canisters that Jilenna had dropped on the ground earlier.

Karen wasn't happy about taking orders from Fang Zhen, but he had one redeeming quality. Despite his sharp tongue, his arrogance, and his generally unpleasant personality, when it ca to getting the job done, he never slacked off. He wouldn't let his personal feelings get in the way of the mission.

Karen hefted the gas canisters and ran over to Fang Zhen.

Fang Zhen turned, longspear in hand, to et him.

When they t up, Fang Zhen took the canisters. He quickly removed the retaining ring from one of them and then, as if he were bowling, rolled it across the floor.

A roll was still a type of throw, and guided by his Precise Throwing skill, the gas canister ca to a stop right at the base of the wall hiding the secret.

Fang Zhen crouched, setting down his longspear. He drew his Desert Viper Handgun, quickly swapped in a full magazine, aid at the canister, and fired twice in rapid succession.

The first shot punctured the canister, but the gas didn't fully ignite. The spark from the second shot's impact did the trick, and the canister exploded.

BOOM!

With a trendous roar, fire erupted. The violent shockwave sent Karen stumbling backward.

The massive explosion made the other mbers of the Whig Society turn pale.

The only one who seed relatively unfazed was Gwendolyn, who had seen a gas canister explode before.

Karen stared, dumbfounded.

Ellick, still locked in combat with Jilenna, went deathly pale.

As the flas died down, the air filled with the sll of gas and the acrid stench of combustion.

A two-to-three-ter-high section of the stone wall, the area that had taken the brunt of the blast, had been completely blown away, revealing a hidden space within.

Fang Zhen could now see clearly what was hidden inside the wall.

Within the wall was a massive, heart-shaped biological structure. It beat continuously and silently, pumping blood outward.

Surrounding this enormous heart, which was half again as tall as a man, was a dense network of 'blood vessels'. These 'vessels' were as thick as a grown man's thigh, and an unidentifiable liquid, possibly blood, flowed through them. They were routed through the hidden space within the wall, like concealed wiring, extending out to an unknown distance.

Not far from the massive heart was another organ. It greatly resembled a woman's womb, except it was transparent and imnse.

Inside this 'womb', several fetal bodies, much like human embryos, were gestating inside transparent 'eggs', absorbing nutrients.

An expression of astonishnt spread across Fang Zhen's face.

'So this is it. This is the reason Ellick was willing to fight to the death and refuse to flee the Ancient Castle?'

'Don't tell ... Ellick has transford the entire Ancient Castle into so kind of living organism?'
