Chapter 551: Twisted
’There has to be a bigger purpose,’ Asher thought to himself. If these people truly wanted organs, then it would have been far more logical to harvest them from Awakeners rather than from ordinary villagers, as the organs of Awakeners were naturally tougher, stronger, and infused with energy that made them far superior in quality.
Besides, if they only intended to sell organs on so underground market, they would not treat the prisoners the way they currently were, because such treatnt would inevitably degrade the quality of the organs they sought to profit from.
The food thrown carelessly onto the ground, the prolonged starvation, the visible malnourishnt, every single one of these factors would negatively affect the condition of the organs. And what kind of client would willingly purchase a low-grade organ when they possessed the wealth to demand the best available quality?
If they had the money, they would naturally desire perfection, and this organization appeared far too structured, far too disciplined, and far too powerful to be dealing in dying, deteriorating organs that held little value.
Furthermore, if they were rely interested in organs, they would have killed the prisoners imdiately, extracted everything of worth from their bodies, and disposed of the remains without hesitation. Instead, they were deliberately keeping the prisoners alive, sustaining them just enough to prevent death, as though there was so greater objective in play that required their continued existence.
All of these observations and logical deductions solidified Asher’s conclusion that this was not simply a rogue group trafficking organs for profit.
’It seems I’ve stumbled upon sothing big and troubleso,’ Asher thought to himself with a faint frown. ’There are a few more doors remaining. I should check them all out; when I visit each one, I can draw a more accurate conclusion,’ Asher reasoned internally, choosing patience over impulsive judgnt.
He did not generate any sudden hatred toward these maniacs, nor did his eyes turn cold with rage. Asher held no outward negative emotions toward them; he had simply co to understand Crymora for what it truly was, a world where morality bent easily under power and coin. If this had been before his reincarnation, he would have been furious, perhaps even shouting for the execution of these lunatics without hesitation.
But at this mont, he was no longer Ethan; he was Asher. His personal emotions were irrelevant. He would kill everyone within this building regardless, and that was the end of it. Justice, anger, morality, none of those things mattered to him now. Only results did.
His body turned slightly as he prepared to take a step forward, but the instant he did, his Omni Perception captured the faint but unmistakable sound of footsteps approaching this very room.
Asher did not move from his position. He remained where he stood, invisible and silent, watching as a group of six individuals walked through the door. Behind them floated several jars and large containers suspended in the air, controlled through telekinesis granted by greater Astra manipulation. The containers hovered steadily, responding to subtle gestures of their hands as though guided by invisible strings.
Each of them moved with exaggerated gentleness and deliberate care, as though they feared even the slightest tremor might cause one of the jars or containers to shatter. They placed each one upon the shelves using their own hands, ensuring stability and alignnt before releasing their telekinetic hold.
"Don’t even think about it," one voice echoed from the side, the sudden warning causing the others to pause mid-motion as they turned toward the speaker.
The man who had drawn their attention gave a lazy smile as he responded, "I wasn’t going to do anything," his smile slowly twisting into a smirk that betrayed his dishonesty.
"That’s what you said last ti, and then you stole a heart and ate it in your room when nobody was watching," another of the five stated bluntly, his tone edged with irritation.
"Tsk, don’t disturb . You think I don’t know you’ve been eating the breasts of those won?" the man whom the other five were targeting shot back defensively.
The man accused of consuming won’s breasts smirked without sha as he replied, "And what is wrong with that? I caught all those won on my own, offered their bodies, and kept their breasts for myself. They were my prize," he said casually, as though discussing sothing entirely mundane.
"And so?" the man accused of eating hearts replied with a mocking tilt of his head.
Another of the five clearly frustrated, interjected, "The last ti, all of us suffered because soone stole and ate a few dicks. We all paid for it. If any heart vanishes from here, I will be reporting you."
The man known for eating hearts glared at the speaker and let out a low, animalistic growl, sounding disturbingly inhuman. After a tense mont, he clicked his tongue in annoyance and fell silent, knowing full well that if he were reported, he would likely be reduced to one of the preserved specins lining these shelves. After all, that was precisely what had happened to the last person caught stealing from the inventory.
The group resud their task in silence, though their eyes occasionally flicked toward the troubleso man. If he attempted anything suspicious, he would be reported imdiately without hesitation.
"Tsk, I need to sleep with so beautiful won and handso n after this," another one muttered as he carefully placed a jar containing a tongue onto a shelf.
"I heard the last Adventurer they caught was extrely handso. How about a threeso with that guy? I’m sure he’s fresh at and still pure," another suggested with vile amusent.
"No problem. I heard he has purple eyes that match his purple hair, although I’m certain those stupid guards will try to extort coins from us again," he clicked his tongue in frustration. "They took a platinum coin from
last ti," he added irritably.
Hearing their conversation, Asher felt a subtle chill trace its way down his spine. These two n were discussing violating him while standing re feet away from him, completely unaware of his presence. For a fleeting mont, he felt the urge to end their lives instantly. Even if his real body was not inside the cell and it was rely a clone, he would never allow such a thing to occur.
"Sigh, well, we still have about six days of work before we can even go there to have a taste of him, sigh," the other replied in disappointnt as he continued arranging the containers.
They worked in silence for the remainder of their task, the earlier tension fading into routine indifference. After finishing, they exited the room the sa way they had entered, leaving Asher alone once more in complete silence.
’Six days...’ Asher thought to himself. What he had just witnessed was beyond disturbing; it was depravity on an entirely different scale. He had encountered cruelty before, but this was cannibalism and corruption elevated to a grotesque level.
’What sort of organization is this?’ Asher questioned internally. They appeared to be composed entirely of sick, morally decayed individuals. The one who had beaten him had taken pleasure in it, three of them openly admitted to consuming human organs, and now two more casually discussed raping their own captives without the slightest trace of remorse.
’Are they all made up of such twisted people?’ Asher wondered silently. The pattern was too consistent to ignore. Every interaction he had witnessed suggested not re criminals, but individuals who reveled in cruelty, who found pleasure in domination, mutilation, and consumption.
His purple eyes dimd slightly as his thoughts settled into cold calculation. Whatever this organization was, it was far deeper and darker than he had initially anticipated.
