Chapter 478: Weight

Asher spent the next hour moving in various directions, forward, upward, backward, sideways, testing the limits of his newly ford control with patient precision. At first, every movent was slow and deliberate, like a child learning to walk for the first ti, careful not to stumble.

He even tried floating upside down, letting his body rotate lazily in the air before attempting to shift in different directions while inverted. Blood rushed faintly to his head, yet gravity no longer dictated his posture. The sensation was strange, disorienting even, but exhilarating beyond asure.

Up. Down. Sideways. Diagonal. Every direction was now simply a matter of intent.

After getting a firm grasp of the basics, Asher increased his speed, imdiately, he noticed the change, the mont his acceleration rose, his control over Gravity slipped a bit. It wasn’t dramatic, but it was noticeable. The smooth, silk-like manipulation from earlier beca rougher, like trying to steer through turbulent water.

He didn’t fall to the ground, but Gravity suddenly felt heavier, harder to negotiate with, as though it resisted the rapid adjustnts.

His brows twitched slightly. ’so speed reduced stability, that made sense, the faster the change, the harder the control’ he thought to himself. But it was nothing to soone of his intelligence.

He had enough ti to figure everything out, and that, he absolutely would. He would only stop when he reached an acceptable speed. Of course, this basic training chamber wasn’t exactly big enough to support any true form of high-speed movent. The space was limited, enclosed, restrictive, sill, Asher could make do with what he had.

After another few tests, he slowly descended and landed on the ground below, his feet touched the floor softly. For a mont, he remained silent, completely still. If anyone had been there to see him, they would have thought sothing was wrong.

But in truth, he simply didn’t trust himself to speak.

Because he wanted to shout, he wanted to scream at the top of his lungs, he had done various magical things before, intangibility, stamina rejuvenation, spatial manipulation, lightning reinforcent, but flight... flight took the cake.

Yes, it wasn’t exactly an overpowered ability. It wasn’t so devastating combat technique or world-breaking spell.

But who cared? This was flight, the most primal fantasy of mankind, freedom itself, breaking free from gravity’s prison. Sadly, he couldn’t actually shout inside the chamber. So he just exhaled slowly instead, containing the excitent bubbling inside his chest.

"I wonder if I can fly out of this planet..." he mused quietly, the thought lingered for a mont.

Then he discarded it, he knew it wouldn’t be that simple. Yes, back on Earth, scientists and astronauts had left the planet and reached the moon and beyond. But Crymora wasn’t Earth. The rules here were different, stranger, deeper.

Obviously, there were many people who could defy gravity through various ans, his father, for example, if it were truly possible to simply fly out of Crymora, those monsters would have already done so long ago to explore whatever existed beyond, so there had to be limitations, barriers, or dangers.

"Aliens... maybe," he muttered with faint amusent before shaking his head, he wasn’t strong enough to worry about extraterrestrial beings, that was a problem for future him, whenever he climbed to the Crownstar Life Rank, then he would think about nonsense like that, right now? Survival first.

’I guess I won’t be teleporting for a while,’ Asher thought with a grin. With the new ability to fly, there was absolutely no way in hell he would be teleporting anyti soon.

Need to take a piss? Easy, fly to the bathroom.

Need to grab sothing just a ter away? Easy, fly there. Why walk like a normal person anymore?

Then suddenly, a thought struck him like a thunderclap.

He froze mid-step. "The fuck have I been doing that I didn’t do sothing so obvious till now?" he muttered to himself.

Gravity.... Gravity was what gave everything weight. And if soone removed gravity, weight disappeared.

If this was applied to combat... wouldn’t that an his movent speed would soar on a base level without any augntation?

His eyes widened slightly, throughout all his battles... he had barely, or never, used Gravity to reduce his own weight to increase speed, he had relied on stamina, lightning enhancent, raw strength.

But gravity manipulation? Almost never, Asher felt like cursing himself, so many fights could have been easier, so many exchanges faster. Without hesitation, he manipulated Gravity around himself, reducing the force acting on his body and effectively removing most of his weight.

Yet he didn’t float, he kept a thin layer of gravity anchoring him to the ground. Then, he moved, his figure blurred forward instantly, the air cracked softly behind him. His body flickered across space as he ran, and the training chamber filled with afterimages of him, overlapping silhouettes trailing in rapid succession, his steps were soundless, ridiculously light. Each stride carried him far farther than before, after a mont, he slowed to a stop, thoughts racing.

’But talking about weight...’ he murmured internally, ’weight sotis determines strength.’

A smirk spread across his lips, another Gravity application bubbled into existence inside his mind.

If weight was basically the force of gravity... then what if he increased the weight, or rather, the gravitational force, around his fist? Or around Virelass?

The idea beca clearer and clearer, with this application, a single punch could triple, or even more, depending on how much Gravity he compressed around the point of impact. Imagine a strike carrying the force of several tons. A casual swing becoming catastrophic.

Asher’s heart quickened, he wanted to try it imdiately, but logic stopped him. Compressing Gravity around his fist or weapon wasn’t sothing he could achieve in one attempt, and the danger was obvious, if his control slipped even slightly during compression, his hand might explode into a shower of blood, flesh, and gore.

Not exactly ideal.

"I’ll co back to this tomorrow," he decided reluctantly, his three hours were nearly up anyway. Even though he had spent most of it just figuring out flight, Asher didn’t care, it was a cheap price to pay for such a reward.

A few minutes later, he stepped out of the basic Gravity training chamber, the hallway lights humd faintly above him. He walked calmly, then stopped mid-step.

"Why am I even walking?" he muttered, the next mont, he levitated off the floor and glided forward effortlessly, ’much better.’

Arriving at the receptionist’s desk, she opened her mouth to speak, but Asher simply floated past her without a word. He had zero interest in chatting with that chatterbox of a woman.

Outside the building, night had already fallen, the moon hung high in the sky, it was already 11 p.m., yet students still road around as usual.

Ti didn’t matter here, 1 a.m., 5 a.m., 3 p.m., it made no difference, everyone trained, everyone pushed themselves, everyone chased strength.

With a thought, Asher manipulated the light photons around him, his figure distorted, then vanished.

Invisibility.

The next mont, he shot into the air at a steady speed. Not fast but also not slow, just smooth motion, He wasn’t trying to hide his flight ability, no, he simply didn’t want to fly over everyone like so peacock on display.

Quiet freedom suited him better, so he disappeared into the night sky, unseen and weightless, gliding like a silent ghost between the stars.
