Chapter 362: Again
Asher’s figure appeared within his room in a streak of silver flash, and he sighed the mont he appeared, his back dropping onto his bed as he stared at the ceiling, unmoving for several seconds. His thoughts shifted back to Thalric, and then he sighed again, unable to understand that boy even till today.
’Well... I haven’t t my other siblings,’ Asher thought. Although Thalric might be difficult to understand, so of his other siblings might prove to be even more perplexing.
’Since I have nothing to do for the next nineteen hours, I might as well train,’ he mused as he rose to his feet. He couldn’t simply spend nineteen hours doing literally nothing. Although he only enjoyed extended periods of training, this was the only sensible thod to utilize his free ti.
Besides, he wasn’t going to train for the entire nineteen hours. He still had a mission tomorrow; he would need to rest and eat before heading to the Logistics and Mission Operations Hall. Since the mont they received the mission permission slip, he, William, and Finch would be required to leave imdiately without delay.
With that thought, he walked toward his private training chamber, which was fitted neatly within his apartnt. Although he would have preferred to head to the Training Facilities of the Star Academy, what Asher planned to train was sothing he wasn’t entirely sure any facility there could assist with. A few seconds later, he stepped into his private chamber, the Astra energy in the air thick and charged, swirling with calm intensity.
Asher sat down at the center of the chamber, folding his legs beneath him in a lotus position. He closed his eyes, inhaling and exhaling deeply as the Astra energy danced around him, spiraling with each breath he drew.
His focus drifted toward his Star Energy, that was what he intended to train. After experinting with it for so ti, he had achieved the Star Form, which had barely allowed him to battle a weakened Grave Rank monster.
But Asher wasn’t here to train his Star Form. There was no form of training he could perform that would magically increase his ti limit from two minutes, not within the next nineteen hours of his available training period.
So instead, he focused on sothing else, sothing similar yet more versatile than Star Form: Physical Augntation.
This ti, however, he wouldn’t be augnting his entire body as he did when activating Star Form. Instead, he would augnt a single part of his body at a ti. He planned to enhance each part individually, rather than collectively.
He wanted to augnt his eyes, his brain, his nervous system, his bones, his cells, his skin... everything he could possibly consider. Each one would bring an individual boost, and through that thod, he would no longer be bound to a strict two-minute ti limit.
Yet Asher fully understood the dangerous territory he was attempting to enter. Unlike Astra energy, over which he already possessed perfect control, his mastery over Star Energy was far from refined. Star Energy was far more fierce, volatile, and inherently destructive.
His thoughts shifted again as he settled firmly on his plan, drifting toward a different aspect of Star Energy altogether. ’If I deal a fatal injury, or even any kind of injury using Star Energy... can that injury still regenerate?’
Since Star Energy was stronger than Astra energy, the residue left behind in the wound would certainly not allow any Astra based healing ability to activate. But what about those who possessed unique healing abilities that did not rely on Astra as a foundational source, those whose abilities functioned simply by igniting their body’s natural capacity to divide cells rapidly and regenerate instantly?
And if he could boost his own cells... then theoretically, he could also destroy soone else’s and heal his own cell.
A faint smile curved his lips as he considered this. ’Far too many applications and ideas...’ he mused. But he also knew he couldn’t suddenly accomplish all of this within a re few hours. Or, perhaps he could. He didn’t exactly know the limits yet.
Still, one thing was certain, there were countless applications he could develop. ’I need to find a way to pass the Star Energy off as Astra energy. That shouldn’t be too difficult,’ he thought. For now, Star Energy was his ultimate weapon in developnt. Although he would eventually use it in battles, he could not allow anyone to discover its true nature.
Although Baron Rivelle had already witnessed it, the man didn’t truly understand what he had seen. He was oblivious; it could easily be mistaken as a secret technique of the Wargraves, or even as Asher’s personal awakened ability.
’When I’m done with the three missions, I will focus on continuing to develop my sword techniques,’ he reflected. Throughout the past month, he had made steady progress with his techniques, though they were still far from complete. But progress was progress.
’So many things to do. So many applications for every ability and power,’ Asher sighed inwardly. ’If I wasn’t talented enough, I would have died of exhaustion.’
’I will try to use Star Energy in as many battles as possible from now on. I’ll get a better grasp of it faster during actual combat, boosting my control over it and everything else in real ti,’ he concluded.
His hand shifted toward his waist, where Virelass rested comfortably within her scabbard. With a single fluid motion, Asher drew his blade. Virelass humd softly, almost happily, as Asher wrapped his fingers around her hilt.
With a thought, Asher poured Star Energy into Virelass. Her humming intensified, as though she had beco addicted to the overwhelming power coursing through her body. Asher remained silent, simply watching as Virelass beca shrouded in pure white energy, the very sa energy that had enveloped him when he fought the Grave Rank Goblin.
He could feel the sheer potency of the energy radiating from his sword. He now understood why the Goblin had wanted to finish him swiftly and had given up on Baron Rivelle during their battle. With another deliberate thought, Asher began to act. He attempted to alter the color of the Star Energy, trying to coax it into mimicking the golden sheen of Astra energy.
On his very first attempt, the Star Energy obeyed. It began to shift, slowly turning golden. As Virelass’s entire fra was about to transition from white to gold, the energy coating her body suddenly ruptured outward in a small yet powerful explosion that detonated violently in Asher’s ears.
But Asher didn’t flinch. He simply tanked the explosion with his body. It was rely a small stream of Star Energy, nowhere near enough to cause him any harm.
’Again,’ Asher thought, and imdiately repeated the process. He knew that achieving this was only the first step. The second and far more challenging step was reducing the destructive aura others sensed whenever they ca near Star Energy. He wasn’t trying to weaken its destructive capability, far from it. He simply wanted to reduce, or ideally erase, the overwhelming pressure and lethal sensation that radiated from it.
That was the true challenge and Asher was fully prepared to conquer it.
