Chapter 126: Chapter 126 Popularity Rating

Huang Yi logged off and entered the forum.

The first thing that caught his eye was the pinned announcent of The Second World’s annual festival, which Huang Yi clicked on to take a closer look.

The annual festival had more than two hundred awards, with one hundred contenders shortlisted for each, aning there were over twenty thousand contenders in total!

However, of these 200-plus awards, there were only 5 heavyweight categories: Best Individual Award, Best Group Award, Best Newcor Award, Best Charm Award, and Best Guild Award, the latter three of which were newly added this year.

These five lists were prominently displayed at the top of the post. Next to each shortlisted player’s na was a voting option and a support rate, where players could cast one vote per day for any of the contenders.

Huang Yi looked at the voting support rates for the Best Newcor Award. Among the top 10, there were three Chinese players, including his own na. He was currently ranked eighth, with a support rate of 4.55%, while Thunder God was right behind him in ninth place with a support rate of 4.54%. The other Chinese player was Yang Yuheng, leader of the Draenei Race, whose support largely ca from Draenei players and Chinese players from around the world, putting him at a high support rate of 5.44%, ranked fifth! The first place was held by an Indian player nad Zi Xing, with a support rate of 6.23%!

In fact, this support rate wasn’t fair, as it was heavily influenced by national sentint. Among the 100 contenders, Zi Xing was the only Indian, so virtually all Indian players voted for him. Chinese players were nurous as well but their votes were split among several Chinese contenders in the top 10, including Huang Yi, Thunder God, and Yang Yuheng, which naturally resulted in lower rankings.

However, this support rate was rely an indicator and only represented the direction of public opinion. The final decision still had to be made by Era Corporation because they held all the real data of The Second World’s players and knew all their secrets. Only they knew which player truly perford the best.

Huang Yi checked the Best Individual Award, where Dao Feng was prominently at the top. He had fans all over the world, not only receiving votes from Chinese players but also many international fans. He had a support rate of 10.4% and it was uncertain if he would retain the award. Additionally, his arch-nesis—the world’s number one assassin, Dragon Spike—was also in the top 10, currently in eighth place.

Huang Yi then looked at the list of contenders for the Best Guild Award, the only list that wasn’t filled with 100 nas. Establishing a guild was extrely difficult, requiring great sacrifice and luck, and to date, only 15 guilds had been established in The Second World, all of which were nominees.

The first guild, Heaven, founded by a player Pope from the United States, was solidly in the lead with a support rate of 33.6%. The second place was taken by a Chinese guild nad Xuanyuan Clan, founded by Dao Feng, who leveraged his fa and the support of a vast number of Chinese players to achieve a comndable support rate of 11.2%. Another Chinese guild, Hall of Famous Generals, founded by the player Lv Bu, who is also an expert from the China Region, ranked tenth. He was low-key and didn’t expose himself as much as Dao Feng and Dragon Spike.

...

After briefly looking through the contenders of several key lists, Huang Yi exited and started searching the forum for thods to repair Teleportation Circles.

In The Second World, there was a Life Class called Array Master specializing in constructing Teleportation Circles and Magic Circles. However, this craft was quite niche, attracting few practitioners compared to popular Life Classes such as Alchemist, Blacksmithing, and Tailoring.

After a long search, Huang Yi finally found the thod to repair Teleportation Circles.

The thread’s author was very patient, illustrating various Teleportation Circles and annotating thods for repairs, which Huang Yi carefully studied and committed firmly to mory.

Then, Huang Yi searched for the keywords "Desolate Sands" and "Skeleton Army".

This search produced many results, all from posts made in recent days!

At the top was a highlighted thread titled—"Vast Skeleton Army Surrounds Dragon City, the Sand Thief King Awakens Again!"

This title linked together several of Huang Yi’s most vital concerns—Skeleton Army, Sand Thief King, and Dragon City!

Huang Yi imdiately clicked on the thread.

"Dragon City is under siege! The city’s only Teleportation Circle has been completely destroyed, trapping a million people inside Dragon City! Outside the city stretches a boundless ocean of skeletons, dense and unending, reaching the horizon, with their numbers incalculable. The situation in Dragon City is now extrely precarious. If these skeleton armies breach the gates, we all one million people will face disaster!"

Next, the player posted a video, recorded atop the towering city walls, showing an atmosphere of tension and agitation in Dragon City. The city gates were firmly closed, nurous players stood on the walls, attacking the skeleton army below, but compared to the number of skeletons, their attacks seed utterly insignificant. Outside the wall was nearly a world of skeletons, like an endless ocean, stretching as far as the eye could see.

Huang Yi’s heart sank. Qin Shiyu, Number 9, was waiting for him in Dragon City, and if the skeleton army breached the gates, Dragon City would undoubtedly be leveled, and Qin Shiyu would have no chance of escaping!

He quickly turned his attention to the content below.

"Based on the information we have, the leader of this skeleton army is one of the three Great Generals under the command of the Sand Thief King—Guifu Heilang (Ghost Axe Black Wolf)! It appears that after years of dormancy, the Sand Thief King has awakened once more, heralding a disaster for Desolate Sands and surrounding areas, with Dragon City to be the first to fall. Players trapped inside can no longer leave; the city has beco Lonely City, and many are despairing, resigned to their fate, hoping that if they’re lucky, they might respawn in another city. If unlucky, they face Reincarnation!"
