Chapter 68: date night

Walking out, They were treading the roads, both hoping they would say the right things.

Donny stopped her.

"I should have said it before but, you’re gorgeous. I an, you always are but it’s a special kind tonight."

Daphne wore a red dress that she stole off of Vivian. Once she looked at Donnie and saw his suit that costed so decent money, it made her feel quite inadequate.

’Look in the mirror hottie.’

"You look very handso tonight as well."

Donny had a scar coming down one of his eyes. It was whited out. It gave him a rugged look that she was already becoming fond of.

Seeing that everything was going normally,. Donny steadied his breath, tried to be a bit more relaxed, confident in himself.

The atmosphere was nice. A kid got tired as their mom picked them up, carrying them ho.

A group of friends were shoulder to shoulder singing a song, probably on the way to a tavern to drink the night away.

Right now it was getting dark, candle lights

As were so of the few sources around.

holding her hand, Donny decided to strike up a conversation. "Is there anything you enjoy doing?"

Daphne turned to him. "You an like a hobby?"

"Precisely. I do things like target practice, hunting and cooking. You?"

"I take to art and I like going for runs and walks. Maybe we can cook together soti."

"Yeah, that would be quite nice."

Deep in their heads, they had different opinions.

’All of my traits co from a need to expand my skills at killing. If I actually had to find sothing I liked, I wouldn’t be saying much.’

Daphne: ’All of his besides cooking were very

Outside very physically straining tasks. Please don’t tell

I sound boring to him.’

As they walked into the restaurant, they were greeted by soone at the front. After Donny showed he made an appointnt, they were able to move to their table.

Sitting down, They looked at the elegant scenery. Most of the walls were black, but it matched with the golden yellow lighting.

Many people were getting food delivered to them by waiters while others were just getting their orders. Just then a waitress walked up to them. She had a short bob and two nus in hand.

Greeting them, she takes a look at his eye.

Then the rest of him. Taking note of this but not wanting to say anything, he got his order

And Daphne got hers.

After the lady walked away, Daphne looked back at Donny. "I’m not the only one who thought that was weird right?"

Donny shook his head. "I was wondering if I had done sothing myself. She left before I had even finished."

He quickly went from trying to figure it out, to face palming. ’You have a beautiful woman right in front of you and you’re worried about soone looking at you funny? Woo her. Say sothing!’

"I’m interested. I beca an adventurer because I was good at beating things up,

Why did you start working at a guild?"

"My fathers and a few of my family were adventurers, though low ranking. It was tradition that I beca one as well... a few things didn’t align, so I got the closest thing to it. She let go of his hands before intertwining her with his.

"Besides. It led

to you didn’t it?"

Damian felt like he was about to lt into his seat. "I guess fate was kinder to the both of us than expected."

Eventually food got there. Donny got Chicken and Rice, while Daphne got soup with shrimp

And duck in it. The sa woman wordlessly placed their orders down.

"Thanks and could you—"

"Thank you for placing your order."

She turned around and began to walk off.

Donny reached out with his hand before retracting it.

"EXCUSE !"

The voices was so loud that it caught the attention of everyone in the restaurant.

As much as Donny wanted this to be smooth,

It seed Daphne couldn’t let it go.

The waitress turned around, visibly annoyed.

If looks could kill, Daphne would be a sar on the floor. But the look was quickly corrected before anyone else could take notice.

"You quickly went through our main dishes and didn’t allow us to even speak of anything else before leaving. If not you, I need soone with a bit more common courtesy."

A bunch of chatter began on weather or not this was true. Seeing this, the lady bowed.

"Apologies. Is there anything else you would like to order?"

Daphne got back in her seat, staring at him with an adorable expression.

Donny was still a bit nervous from their minor inconvenience being the entire restaurant’s business. "Huh....Ladies first?"
