Chapter 99 : Am I Avoiding Her Edge?

Baifuli shook her head, then leaned close to Vivian’s ear. The two whispered privately for quite a while; Vivian’s expression shifted from doubt to sudden understanding.

“Well?”

“Will that really work?”

“Please~” Baifuli sighed dramatically, spreading her hands. “If this still does not work, then I truly have no ideas left. Otherwise you will just have to grind it out slowly.”

She thought, Who told you to be so unskilled?

Then she looked around and waved at a nearby attendant who had made eye contact.

The attendant hurried over and asked respectfully, “What are your instructions?”

Baifuli smoothly listed several items. After hearing the request, the attendant nodded briskly. “Understood. Please wait a mont, I will prepare it imdiately.”

Once he left, Baifuli turned back to Vivian and blinked. “Wait here. Leave the rest to my little pet.”

Vivian remained silent, unconsciously rubbing her sleeve. When her gaze drifted toward Eve—standing quietly in the distance, completely unaware of what was about to happen—warmth crept to the tips of her ears.

A small anticipation rose in her heart. She felt capable again.

Soon the attendant returned, holding a cardboard box with so weight to it; faint clinking of glass bottles could be heard inside.

He set it beside Baifuli and opened it. “Everything is here. Do you need anything else?”

Baifuli glanced down. Inside were fifteen bottles of brandy, authentic and noble-grade.

“That will do. You may leave.” She waved him away, then raised her brow at Vivian. “The items have arrived. We can begin. Rember your lines.”

“No need to remind .”

Baifuli chuckled and called, “Mia~ co here.”

Mia set down the tray and ca over. At the sa ti, Eve opened her eyes and saw Vivian beckoning as well. Without hesitation, she walked over.

Now the three of them—and one Vampire—ford a small circle.

A round-table conference.

Before anyone asked anything, Vivian imdiately entered character. She frowned coldly at Baifuli. “It seems we must settle this today.”

“I am always ready,” Baifuli replied calmly, stroking her pet’s head. “Since neither side yields, let us prove it directly.”

“Hmph. Who is afraid of you?”

With that, Baifuli pushed the open box to the center. The bottles reflected the light; bubbles rose briefly in the swaying liquor before fading.

“Let our maids compete in drinking capacity. Whoever lasts to the end wins.”

Vivian snorted and lightly tapped Eve’s calf with her shoe. “Go.”

“?” Eve had not expected to be involved.

“Who else? ?” Vivian nearly snapped, then suddenly changed tone. “You will win, right? You will not disappoint .”

Eve fell silent—not unwilling to respond, but because of the encouraging smile on her Young Miss’s face.

Since it had co to this… perhaps she could try.

She bent down, picked up a bottle, and scanned the label. Seeing the clear “50% vol,” she froze.

Fifty degrees?

aning… she might die too?

Brandy, a classic cocktail base spirit, was usually mixed to soften its strength. Drinking it straight released its full potency. Even for Eve, confidence was not absolute.

As a Vampire, bodily durability was not a concern—but alcohol was alcohol.

She did not move, only looked back at Vivian.

“What are you waiting for? We are already half a bottle behind!” Vivian spoke rapidly, glancing around as if anxious. “If you cannot drink, just say it. Do not waste my ti!”

A provocation?

Strangely, it worked.

It was not pressure she succumbed to. All hesitation vanished because of one line: you will not disappoint , right?

Now the arrow was nocked and had to be released. Failure never existed in her dictionary.

anwhile Mia had nearly finished her first bottle, seemingly unfazed by the strength. Truly worthy of an artificial creation.

Baifuli clapped lightly and encouraged sweetly, “Do your best. Win and I will reward you.”

The gentle voice accelerated Mia’s drinking; she reached for the second bottle.

Seeing this, Eve closed her eyes.

When she opened them again, she lifted the bottle to her lips. Fiery sharpness exploded across her mouth.

Gulp gulp gulp…

To catch up, the liquid rapidly diminished. A trace spilled from the corner of her lips, sliding along pale skin, tracing her collarbone before disappearing along her curves.

“Gulp…” That sound ca from Vivian.

She stared without blinking, captivated by Eve’s elegant yet bold drinking posture. Sohow…

It was dashing—more heroic than rely beautiful.

Eve, unaware of the admiring gaze, finished the bottle swiftly and felt little.

She placed the empty bottle beside Mia’s; they clinked crisply. Wiping her lips with the back of her hand, her crimson eyes shone brighter beneath warm lights and soft piano music.

Determination filled them.

As she reached for another bottle, Vivian unexpectedly helped—handing her one and holding another herself.

“Can you still drink?”

Eve accepted it, lifted her chin proudly, and said calmly,

“Miss, rest assured. They will not win.”
